View Full Details of St Katharine's HouseWhilst my wife was in your care I found she spent a lot of time alone (no company at all). She had only a day bag and twice I found the bed flooded where she had split it whilst lying on it. Did request a night bag but it was not forthcoming. Food left for her to eat, no helping eating, found water bottle empty 3 times. Staff very nice just overworked, not enough of them, she passed after 3 weeks, so don't know if it would improve.
When my wife came here, the staff really showed respect towards her, though they had never met her before and when I come here to visit my wife, I see the staff really love the people that they take care of.
Fantastic team. Helpful management!
I believe the wing (Tulip) is understaffed many times at weekends. Quite often and staff member is trying to look after 10 residents moving around, going to toilet and trying to leave rooms.
Lovely rooms looking out onto the garden which is good for Mum as she is bed bound and she enjoys the view. Mum can exhibit challenging behavior but staff treat her with kindness and respect or a ready smile at all times. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Whilst care giving staff explain what they are going to do and reason for it to reassure Mum. Can't fault the care she receives.
Overall extremely happy with the care that Mum receives. The buildings are always warm and cozy and the staff are always helpful and caring.
My mother has recently come back out of hospital resulting in the staff having to be very alert towards her condition. They have all shown excellent experiences in dealing with her health needs. The communication skills were also of the highest level towards my mother, whilst changing her, feeding her and ensuring her care needs were of the highest standard. Good overall team work enabling my mother to carry on with her life. Thank you.
My son has taken some time to settle in St Katharine's House, but this is down to his disabilities. We visited him recently and he was a bit down. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. They always ask us if we would like a hot drink which is very nice. Everyone there is always polite and ask us if we need anything. The house is always clean and tidy, as is my son's room. The staff are doing a tremendous job in looking after my son as he can be difficult sometimes. We are not worried about him as he is safe, warm and fed, being well looked after in terms of his medication and appointments. Thank you all.
My wife went into respite dementia care. From first enquiry to leaving at the end of the residence I found the Admin staff to be polite, efficient and friendly. The Care Manager and caring staff were considerate and understanding. It was clear to me that all of the staff were relaxed and appeared happy in their work. This, to me, was a sign of employee satisfaction and a credit to the overall management of the home. Despite some personal difficulties my wife experienced the staff remained caring and professional throughout her stay. Without a doubt, I would recommend this Care Home because not only did they take care of my wife as the resident they were kind and considerate to me too.
Very pleased with the service provided. Mum looks very well looked after. Nice and friendly staff.
The staff at the care home have been outstanding, professional, friendly and hardworking. Lucky to have such wonderful staff.
Nice home but could rearrange the sitting room to make it not look like a doctors/dentist waiting room. Chairs could be placed in semi-circles or four or six chairs and not in rows with some residents viewing the backs of heads of the residents in the row in front. It needs to look more friendly like your home would look. Also, the kitchen area needs to be kept clean at all times. Staff friendly but could be more trained in person-centred care and not just leave the residents sitting with no interaction given by waiting staff.
I can not thank the staff, nurses and carers for their dedication and care enough. They treat the residents like a family, they are a wonderful team. Mum can be a bit difficult, as can all dementia residents. The staff are always very calm and kind when they have bad moments. Thank you.
Both our parents are being cared for together at St Katharine's House. All the staff are friendly and very professional. All visitors are made to feel welcome. They are very supportive with difficult situations and are keen to make life better for the residents.
Home is in a good position, near shops. Parking is good. Management and helpful staff are also friendly and helpful. Good rooms. Please note I have no previous experience of care homes, seems very expensive.
I visited 4 care homes in the area and was impressed with St Katharine's because of the beautiful grounds, the friendly atmosphere, the clean, comfortable rooms, each with its own wet room, and the pleasant social areas.
I am delighted with the care, compassion, and indeed love shown to my wife during her nearly one-year stay at St Katherine’s. The professionalism of all the staff, the attention given to each resident, and the general happy atmosphere created is a testament to the high standards and ethos set by the management and implemented by each team member. While some of the facilities may be dated the food is excellent and all areas are kept spotlessly clean and there are numerous mental and physical activities to occupy residents. I could not have chosen a better place for my wife.
Mom received excellent, compassionate care from the Manager and her wonderful staff, full of empathy and support for both the residents and their families during mom’s time at Saint Katharine‘s. It was so good to have the continuity of the same staff caring for mom day in and day out. They knew her so well, even down to her favourite biscuits and how she liked her toast cooked. Everyone knew mom, from the managers, the carers, the lovely office staff, the catering team, the maintenance team, the wonderful activities coordinators and the visiting hairdresser. The family had peace of mind knowing that mom was being so well looked after. We were very regular visitors, at many different times of the day, and the standard of care was always the same, excellent.
Every time I have visited Mum, all the staff have been amazing. Mum is much more settled and relaxed in herself. To know that Mum is safe, cared for, treated with love and kindness, eating nutritious healthy food, singing and dancing, and going to chapel means more to me than words can describe, There always seems to be a kind, loving atmosphere between staff and residents, I certainly feel it.
My mother needed respite care and was lucky enough to stay at St Katharine's House for two weeks. The staff are an extraordinary team. All very warm, friendly, welcoming and efficient. She was made so welcome. She has dementia and was so very well taken care of by the wonderful, kind, caring and attentive staff. Mom is very television-oriented, it makes her calm and happy. I brought Mom's telly with and maintenance were very helpful in getting it working. Thank you so much to all of the wonderful staff and St Katharine's team.
