View Full Details of Lashbrook House Care HomeMy mother was so well cared for by the staff who maintained their sense of humour, I will remain always grateful to the service and care she received. The staff understood she liked to sing and her humour, which you may have trouble finding elsewhere.
I have found all staff very friendly and always keen to help. A very relaxed and calm environment for the clients. Lots of daily activity taking place for those who wish to join in. Manager always visible on the floor and participating in patient care.
My mum has been at Lashbrook for almost three years now. The staff are friendly and caring, and there is not a large turnover of staff, so Mum has forged relationships with her carers. The premises are very clean, and Mum really enjoys the food, especially her afternoon cakes. Pets are encouraged to visit, and there are many activities to join in if they want to. I am kept up to date at all times with regard to my mum's care and regularly discuss her day-to-day care.
My partner has benefited from your kind people who look after all her needs. The atmosphere of the home is great; there is always something going on. Her food requirements have been catered for, and I am pleased to say that she has put weight on (her weight loss worried me). The staff are very helpful and friendly, and they seem happy to go that extra mile for residents. Overall, I am very happy that my partner is at Lashbrook. I do love the tea trolley in the afternoon.
Lashbrook House Care Home is a caring, happy home. The staff are very friendly and smile a lot. My mum is happy there and well looked after. The staff know their residents well and take time to speak with us when we visit her. The garden is very pretty and quiet, and the home is kept very clean.
My wife transferred to Lashbrook House in October 2022, which gives me a comparison with the care home in Kent she was at before. The staff at Lashbrook are always welcoming and extend genuine hospitality to visiting family and friends. This has always been a most noticeable feature across all members of the team without exception and indicates excellent management and leadership are being exercised. The home is spotlessly clean and kept in good order internally and externally, which makes it a pleasure to visit. Lashbrook is well-planned and organised, with a full calendar of activities and entertainment circulated to family members. Those in care appear to have diverse needs, and I have noted these are well catered for - all getting the requisite attention individually needed. The attitude of the friendly staff to residents is particularly observed as being respectful and caring - again a sign of very capable and watchful leadership. Overall, an excellent care home.
When my husband arrived at Lashbrook he was aggressive after a stay in hospital. I was told I could no longer look after him. There was nowhere who could have taken him in our nearest town. A place was found at Lashbrook for him. A friend had to bring me and during our first visit he was pretty awful. But since then he has settled amazingly well. The staff have been great in helping him, they always recognise me and are really friendly and kind. He was never a great socialiser and watches TV in his room. Since he has been there - his TV is much bigger and he has an armchair!
My father has been a resident in Lashbrook for over two and a half years and I am very happy with the care he is receiving. Staff are very friendly and the home is very well run by the management. The building and surroundings are very pleasant, although building is tired in places. All inside areas are kept clean and tidy. Activities are well organised with a wide range.
Residents' care seems very satisfactory. Staff very pleasant, understanding, and ready to share information. Atmosphere very pleasing. My only concern is that it is difficult to keep track of clothing and much seems to go missing, even when named.
My mother has been a resident in Lashbrook for over three years, and throughout this time has been cared for very well and has been very happy to be there. One really good feature about Lashbrook is the 'family' feel and that the residents and their families are part of a community. There are activities arranged throughout the week, which my mother enjoys being part of, and parties are held for residents and their families in the summer and at Christmas, which are enjoyed by all. It should also be mentioned that the quality of the meals at Lashbrook is extremely good, with a choice of really nice home-cooked food. Finally, the staff are very kind and caring. They are also very responsive if there is anything requiring attention.
I am satisfied with all aspects of the performance of Lashbrook House with the exception of their telephone answering. On several occasions, especially at weekends, they have not answered the telephone.
My stepmother has been at Lashbrook since January 2021. During her time there, I have found the level of care to be first-class. From the moment I arrive to the moment I leave, I feel the warmth of the home. Such wonderful, welcoming and caring staff. The home is well organised, in pristine condition and offers a wide range of activities for the residents.
My mother, with advanced Alzheimer's, has been a resident here for 1.5 years. We are very happy with the home. They are so welcoming and friendly. The staff are smiling, polite and helpful. The manager is extremely approachable, listens to any worries and makes change happen if needed. Mum always looks well looked after and clean. The home is in a lovely setting, a great garden, and there's always a quiet area inside to take Mum. They hold events for families, and residents are treated with great respect. She has a good-sized room, and on request, it was given a new coat of paint. Communication from the home is good, including a Facebook page.
Let’s be honest, it’s never a happy time when the time comes for a loved one to have to go into care. It is a choice no one wants to make. This being said, I was relieved when I found Lashbrook House. It is a small home located in beautiful, peaceful countryside with a lovely sunlit garden. It’s not a flashy home, no cinema or bars. What it is, however, is a clean, caring, kind home. I visit very frequently and have only ever seen that the residents are well cared for. The are plenty of activities to join in, the food is excellent, and the home welcomes visitors to join for lunch. There is a very high standard of nursing and personal care, and there is a weekly GP visit. Hairdressers come weekly, and staff will take residents to hospital and dental visits. What makes the home outstanding is the management of the team. She is responsive to feedback and acts on concerns. The home was reviewed by CQC and given a good rating. Lashbrook is a peaceful and safe place to live.
My mother was transferred here in December 2023. The whole team are warm, caring and very sociable. The management team are clearly effective and highly motivated. There are activities most days, although the staff leave Mum in peace if that's what she chooses on any given day. In addition, it is a huge relief to have her living much closer and knowing she is kept safe.
My mum has been at Lashbrook for 4.5 years; she is 95, and the manager and staff go out of their way to help and support her. Caring as a career must be so difficult, but the lovely people at Lashbrook really make a difference to the quality of her life. No matter what may be going on in their personal lives, the excellent manager and all carers really assist where they can and give my mum a life. Whatever they face, they face head-on and deal with it in such a friendly way. Arranging in-house birthday teas is encouraged. There is always a lot of music going on, from singers to sing-songs to musicals and concerts playing. During the summer, outside events are arranged, and their Mother's Day and Christmas events saw the Home totally full. Everything comes from the top, and they need to value their manager, who encourages the right atmosphere and really makes all the staff feel wanted too.
Mum is very happy where she is, and overall, we are very happy with her situation and the service provided within the home. We've marked cleanliness down slightly since we have noted crumbs and tissues under her chair when visiting, but generally, the standard is high.
My mother has been at Lashbrooke since July 2022. The staff are all very friendly, respectful and caring to the residents, and the management team is super approachable. They really do their best to make it feel like a family 'home' rather than a "care home", and I am always aware there is a lot of chatter and laughter - of course, we'd all rather our loved ones are in care homes at all, but I am very happy to be part of the Lashbrook family.
My mother was transferred here at the beginning of January 2022. Initially, I thought I would look at places closer to me, but it soon became apparent how caring, respectful and generous all the staff at Lashbrook are. It would have been awful to have moved her. Special mention to the Manager and the carers and outstanding staff.
I find the staff and the manager at all times most helpful and caring and carry approachable. The home has a lovely warm feeling a place you would and could leave your loved one with confidence.
