My father became a resident at Merryfield in early December 2024. His introduction to the care at Merryfield has been a revelation. He is so well looked after by the excellent staff. Everyone from the Chef to Senior Management are so approachable and eager to do their best for him. After a disappointing time at a previous care home in Witney, making the decision to move a 95 year old was not easy but we are so glad we did. The care given is fantastic, and I cannot praise the team there enough.

We were so pleased that Merryfield was recommended to us when looking for a care home for Dad, it has not disappointed and has exceeded our expectations, much praise and thanks must go to the staff and management for helping Dad with the transition. It's like a home from home! He is happy and is receiving excellent care and his needs are being fully met, we are delighted! Thank you!

I find the carers very friendly and caring, bringing cups of tea and having a chat. I love coming to see my sister and having a chat with the staff and others. It's good to know that my sister is well cared for.

Moving a parent to a care home is a huge and sometimes difficult decision but we knew, immediately, that we had chosen the right place. Every member of staff is friendly, caring and highly professional. We are delighted and our dad would award yu all 110% if he could - his words! Thank you to everyone.

Writing on behalf of my whole family, we would like to thank all the staff at Merryfield Nursing Home for looking after my father with such dignity, care and attention during his final weeks. There is a happy atmosphere at Merryfield and the staff are all so lovely to be around. There is a feeling of genuine, humble service and personal, caring attention to the residents. My father was really well looked after, had his own room and bathroom, and was checked regularly. Family were free to come and go as needed and we developed friendships with staff who were always available to answer concerns. Our doctor said that Merryfield is the nicest nursing home he has visited in Oxfordshire and I can believe it. We are so happy that we made the decision to take my father to Merryfield. We miss you all!

All the staff are gentle, kind and professional. Despite my father-in-law's memory being poor, he seems to have formed a relationship with them. He is courteous to them and they respond in kind and I think this helps him maintain some measure of sociability. I believe he is the best place but his life is very difficult.

Merryfield is a home-from-home, small enough that each resident is known personally by each member of staff and therefore their individual needs are met and they are always treated with dignity. Guests are also welcome to come and go as they please and also much supported by the staff, very impressed.

We moved Dad a couple of months ago into Merryfield. He has dementia and was quite depressed. Since moving, we have noticed an incredible change. He is more settled and joining in daily activities such as bingo, poetry, and singing which we never thought we would see again. He is settled and mixing with other residents. We are really pleased and know we don't have to worry about him.

Merryfield is a very welcoming and friendly home. It is only small but all the better for it, because it retains the feel and atmosphere of a real home from home. The staff are brilliant, very caring and professional. I would recommend it without reservation.

My family and I have been very impressed by the care and dedication given to my mum over the past year. She loves it here and enjoys a lot of the activities offered including meeting the pets and therapy dog.

Although I live a bit further away from my parents than my sister, I am never in any doubt at all that 'the folks' are in very good hands which is very reassuring indeed. The staff are all real characters and so kind.

The home that looks and feels like a real family home. As soon as I stepped inside I knew it was where I wanted my parents to live. Their happiness shows that I made the right decision. Beautiful surroundings, excellent staff and fantastic experiences and activities.

We are always made very welcome and offered drinks. My nan's needs are always taken care of in a swift and courteous manner, having regard to her feelings at all times. Thank you!

The continued care provided at Merryfield is of a very good standard. The staff are always friendly and willing in their daily jobs, providing excellent care in a professional manner.

I do not have enough adjectives to describe how reassured we are by my grandfather's care. He is safe, clean, loved and happy but the team go above and beyond to treat him holistically, compassionately and as the person he still is, despite the challenges of age. I work in the NHS, I know what good care looks like and they have the care x factor. Thank you!

Fantastic gardens. We have lovely visits with Dad in the garden and the staff are wonderful as always, bringing us tea, biscuits and cake. The staff are so dedicated to the people, it's lovely, they always seem happy and smiley - a beautiful place. Thank you to the lovely staff.

Really accommodating staff, who are very quick to help our family out when visiting. Grandad is enjoying his time here and is getting to know other residents very well. The activities are amazing and tailor-made for the residents. It is so lovely to see how happy Grandad is. The staff are amazing and the facilities are very good.
