View Full Details of Burford Nursing HomeAll the staff we met made visiting my relatives a pleasure. We were greeted by name and offered refreshments and I was able to chat to my relatives (two sisters) in comfort and privacy in the library. All the staff were friendly and helpful to my wife and me and were kind and caring to my relatives. All the areas I went into were clean, bright and airy and provided a very calm atmosphere.
My father was admitted from an inadequate Care home, that could not provide for his needs. He had Vascular Dementia. When he arrived at Burford Nursing Home, it was clear he needed further care, his mobility was poor, his speech was deteriorating and his Cognitive memory was poor at best, making him confused. As he was blind he needed assistance with feeding himself , he was also hard of hearing. He wasn't incontinent but due to communication issues he wore pads. From the moment he arrived the amazing staff cared for his every need. Not just the Nursing staff, but everyone , spent time talking to him, explaining everything, even though he didn't remember things. As a Registered Nurse, I cannot recommend this place enough. The care Dad received during his time and in his final days was exemplary and way beyond. Dad was treated with dignity, compassion and love as was my Mum and family members. Nothing was too much trouble, during a very difficult time. Thank you.
My wife was admitted to Burford nursing home on March 3, 2025. From the very beginning the welcome to Lynne and myself was very warm, kind and friendly. And this has been continued in these early weeks. We have both been made to feel very much at home. This has been a wonderful experience, especially as we have been married for 55 years. They have a great team of carers who can never do enough to help and look after their residents . My wife has had problems with hygiene when she was at home, but they seem to have been able to help her look so much better and better more like her old self. I cannot tell you what joy and relief the Home have brought into my life knowing that Lynne is being so loved. And not only do they work well with the residents but the whole place looks spotless and feels fresh.
Having visited 7 homes in our area, Burford Nursing Home really stood out as a friendly caring residence. We were looking for Dementia respite care for my father, who's not been away from my Mum (his carer) for the past 65 years, so a challenge for all. Our worries were unfounded as the staff have been brilliant, so caring and professional. The home is clean, the atmosphere friendly and the food excellent. The kitchen had no problem and went out of their way to cater for my Dad as he is a celiac. We have already pre booked another stay and look forward to the backup Burford Nursing Home provide.
My husband and I attended a memorable garden party at Burford Care Home where the residents were treated to outdoor interactive entertainment and party food with all staff playing their part in helping residents join in to the best of their ability. The garden was decorated which all added to the atmosphere. Everyone played their part and worked extremely hard. It was a very happy day we won't forget , thanks to all concerned.
The Nursing Home was kind friendly and considerate at all times. The carers were experienced and very helpful, the nursing staff exemplery professional and beyond caring.Even the laundry an kitchen staff were friendly. The managers were always caring and had time to answer any questions we had . The professional care and dignity given to my husband at the end was amazing to see.Iw was very grateful. The care and sympathy after my husbands death given to both me and my family was second to none. I do feel this home should be highly rated .They are constantly dealing with the most cruel disease possiblei in the late stages ,very successfully, that is dementia in all its forms. the managers keep you informed at all times and are a great comfort
The care that my dad received from the wonderful staff at The Burford Nursing home was exceptional. Having suffered with Alzheimers and a nasty fall his health was in a very precarious position when he first arrived at the home having been discharged from the hospital. However, their patience and nurturing care got him back on his feet and even dancing with the carers when they had their music activities. Sadly, his Alzheimers progressed to the point where he was unable to swallow, so despite their endless patience we decided that we needed to move to palliative care. Their expertise and gentle guidance was extraordinary to support my mum and me through my Dad's final days and hours, ensuring that he had a painless peaceful passing. We will be forever grateful for the incredible love, care and devotion they showed Dad and support they gave my mum and me at an exceedingly difficult time.
My mother has been here for 2 years now. The staff are always welcoming snd helpful and if I've ever had any issues they are dealt with promptly. The management are approachable and helpful if I've ever needed advice. They are always accommodating to our requests at birthdays/family get togethers at the home for visits to mum. Overall I'm happy with all aspects of her care here.
I visit the site regularly, often without notice. I find my brother to be clean and tidy. The areas are always clean. Staff always make you welcome, even when busy.. I've tried the food and it is always delicious. The nursing staff are professional and continue to update me on my brother's health. The management is always the to advise me.
I cannot speak highly enough of the professional care and dignity given to my husband (and me) under very difficult circumstances sometimes.
My wife and I have been coming for three years plus. In that time, we have gotten to know all members of staff, all of which are very friendly, helpful, approachable and very professional. The care provided for my sister-in-law cannot be faulted. Getting to know the residence has been a real eye-opener on what dementia is all about and without our visits, we would not have as much knowledge about this awful ailment and how marvellous the staff are to deal with it.
My friend always seems content. Staff are very attentive and friendly.
I always find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. My friend has been a resident here for over a year and she always looks happy and well cared for. I would recommend Burford Nursing Home to family and friends.
My dear wife first attended Burford Nursing Home in November 2023 for two weeks of respite care. In March 2024 after a short stay in hospital, the decision was taken for her to become a permanent resident at the home. The management team supported me to ensure all went smoothly relieving me of a lot of stress. My wife was warmly welcomed by all the staff. All aspects of my wife's care are excellent, with compassion, friendship and constant smiles. Enough is never enough as every member of the team strives to find ways to support the residents and their families. I and our children are so grateful that their mum is in such a wonderful place as Burford Nursing Home.
There are no words to describe the amazing care my beloved Mum had at Burford Nursing Home. She was looked after like a princess and with Alzeimer's that is all I could have asked for. The carers were like angels and loved not only my Mum but the other residents, their commitment to care was above and beyond anything. They also arranged so many events each week which stimulated everyone, honestly, I am so grateful for my Mum having her last years with such exceptional caring human beings. They also looked after me through very difficult days and especially when Mum died there were 8 beautiful angels with me to help me through her passing, there aren't the words, even picking me up and taking me home because I was too distressed to drive. Since Mum has died they have been in touch to check up on me which has been so comforting because they all became family to me and I will be volunteering in the New Year to give back the love and support they gave not only to Mum but to me.
The team made Mum feel welcome and cared for on her arrival and that care continued right up until the end when Mum sadly passed away peacefully in September 2023. They were proactive communicating any updates quickly and effectively. Mum was the happiest I had seen her in her later years and the care which she received, in the environment she was in, will have no doubt contributed to that in a significant way. When Mum transitioned to palliative care during her final days the team were knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make her comfortable and to make my life as easy as possible. They took it upon themselves to personally ensure I had everything I needed for the 2-hour journey home each night which was particularly touching. My decision to donate the proceeds of her funeral collection to the staff should, I hope, speak for itself and I can thoroughly recommend the manager and his team to anyone thinking of placing a loved one here.
Everybody at Burford Nursing Home treated my wife with care and affection. They could not have done more to make her last days as pleasant and comfortable as possible. First class.
My mother was a resident from December 2021 until December 2022 when she very sadly died. Through this time she had excellent, meaningful care and attention. Throughout the months, she was thoughtfully cared for, so much so that we all felt the genuine nature of this support. All staff always knew who my mother was and how she was doing. I was always notified of any issues she was having both physically and mentally. The care and attention could in no way have been improved and at the very end I could not have been more supported personally. The end of a long life is all very emotional with many memories and great sadness, knowing that she was well cared for has made a huge difference to all the family.
My friend came for respite and sadly passed away after 6-7 weeks. Staff are wonderful, caring, and compassionate. Nurses are experienced and approachable. Carers treat family, friends, and residents with kindness, dignity, and respect. I cannot praise all of the staff from cleaners to managers, enough. Thank you all for making my friend's last few weeks a happy one.
Excellent, caring staff. I knew my husband was in good care, which helped me because of the distance from home, and I was working, so couldn’t get there more than twice a week. I was always informed of any problems.
