View Full Details of Burford Nursing HomeI visit the site regularly, often without notice. I find my brother to be clean and tidy. The areas are always clean. Staff always make you welcome, even when busy.. I've tried the food and it is always delicious. The nursing staff are professional and continue to update me on my brother's health. The management is always the to advise me.
I cannot speak highly enough of the professional care and dignity given to my husband (and me) under very difficult circumstances sometimes.
My wife and I have been coming for three years plus. In that time, we have gotten to know all members of staff, all of which are very friendly, helpful, approachable and very professional. The care provided for my sister-in-law cannot be faulted. Getting to know the residence has been a real eye-opener on what dementia is all about and without our visits, we would not have as much knowledge about this awful ailment and how marvellous the staff are to deal with it.
My friend always seems content. Staff are very attentive and friendly.
I always find the staff to be very friendly and helpful. My friend has been a resident here for over a year and she always looks happy and well cared for. I would recommend Burford Nursing Home to family and friends.
My dear wife first attended Burford Nursing Home in November 2023 for two weeks of respite care. In March 2024 after a short stay in hospital, the decision was taken for her to become a permanent resident at the home. The management team supported me to ensure all went smoothly relieving me of a lot of stress. My wife was warmly welcomed by all the staff. All aspects of my wife's care are excellent, with compassion, friendship and constant smiles. Enough is never enough as every member of the team strives to find ways to support the residents and their families. I and our children are so grateful that their mum is in such a wonderful place as Burford Nursing Home.
There are no words to describe the amazing care my beloved Mum had at Burford Nursing Home. She was looked after like a princess and with Alzeimer's that is all I could have asked for. The carers were like angels and loved not only my Mum but the other residents, their commitment to care was above and beyond anything. They also arranged so many events each week which stimulated everyone, honestly, I am so grateful for my Mum having her last years with such exceptional caring human beings. They also looked after me through very difficult days and especially when Mum died there were 8 beautiful angels with me to help me through her passing, there aren't the words, even picking me up and taking me home because I was too distressed to drive. Since Mum has died they have been in touch to check up on me which has been so comforting because they all became family to me and I will be volunteering in the New Year to give back the love and support they gave not only to Mum but to me.
The team made Mum feel welcome and cared for on her arrival and that care continued right up until the end when Mum sadly passed away peacefully in September 2023. They were proactive communicating any updates quickly and effectively. Mum was the happiest I had seen her in her later years and the care which she received, in the environment she was in, will have no doubt contributed to that in a significant way. When Mum transitioned to palliative care during her final days the team were knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make her comfortable and to make my life as easy as possible. They took it upon themselves to personally ensure I had everything I needed for the 2-hour journey home each night which was particularly touching. My decision to donate the proceeds of her funeral collection to the staff should, I hope, speak for itself and I can thoroughly recommend the manager and his team to anyone thinking of placing a loved one here.
Everybody at Burford Nursing Home treated my wife with care and affection. They could not have done more to make her last days as pleasant and comfortable as possible. First class.
My mother was a resident from December 2021 until December 2022 when she very sadly died. Through this time she had excellent, meaningful care and attention. Throughout the months, she was thoughtfully cared for, so much so that we all felt the genuine nature of this support. All staff always knew who my mother was and how she was doing. I was always notified of any issues she was having both physically and mentally. The care and attention could in no way have been improved and at the very end I could not have been more supported personally. The end of a long life is all very emotional with many memories and great sadness, knowing that she was well cared for has made a huge difference to all the family.
My friend came for respite and sadly passed away after 6-7 weeks. Staff are wonderful, caring, and compassionate. Nurses are experienced and approachable. Carers treat family, friends, and residents with kindness, dignity, and respect. I cannot praise all of the staff from cleaners to managers, enough. Thank you all for making my friend's last few weeks a happy one.
Excellent, caring staff. I knew my husband was in good care, which helped me because of the distance from home, and I was working, so couldn’t get there more than twice a week. I was always informed of any problems.
Dad became a resident at Burford almost two years ago now, after having been cared for at home by myself for five years, when my mum died. A slightly wobbly start, but the management and staff have gone out of their way to make Dad's new life as nice as possible. Covid has been difficult for everyone, but Burford have made it as stressless as possible and at the same time, professionally handled. Some great parties for many occasions with lovely catering and decorations. Christmas panto was brilliant, Dad talked about it for days! Sadly, Dad has been pretty poorly for a couple of weeks, but the attention he has received could not have been bettered. Very attentive and nothing too much trouble. Management through to the cleaning staff are fabulous and friendly. Christmas day we were surprised and thrilled to have private dining with Dad - crackers, streamers napkins, wine, turkey dinner and Christmas pudding. It was so lovely and we will treasure the memory. The staff care! Thank you.
Excellent all-round. Wonderful, caring staff in every aspect of their job title.
Burford Nursing Home is a truly wonderful care home. My mum has been a resident there for almost one year and during this time, she has received superb care. As a family, we feel very lucky that Mum is a full-time resident there.
I would just like to express my thanks for the wonderful care, you gave my mother, that you cared for, for the last few weeks of her life. Me and my family were extremely grateful for the love and care you gave her. Thank you.
My father went to reside in Burford Nursing Home in February 2020. He contracted Covid in March 2020 at the age of 98 years old. Through their excellent nursing and care, he thankfully recovered and we were kept informed of his condition throughout. At such a frightening time in all our lives, it was a great comfort to us to know that he was in such safe hands. Burford Nursing Home organised an amazing 100th birthday party for my father, we had a lovely time with family and friends and all the other residents and staff celebrating with us. We also enjoyed a platinum jubilee garden party that the nursing home had organised. They went to great lengths to make it a special occasion, the tea and entertainment were excellent. My father sadly passed away not long before he was 101 years old, having spent two and a half years at the nursing home. My family will be forever grateful for all the love and care that was shown to my father and to us. I would thoroughly recommend Burford Nursing Home.
My mother, who has dementia, has been in Burford Nursing home for the past 18 months, and despite commencing a 'reign of terror' within the home for a few weeks upon her initial admittance, she has settled in amazingly well, and considers the place to be home. The staff managed her very well, and despite her maverick antics, they were all very kind to her. In conjunction with the Doctor, they have adjusted her medication and she is the happiest she has been in years. My father then developed dementia, and the staff offered advice and guidance on his management and told me to ring any time despite him not being in the home at that time. Dad went in on a permanent basis about 3 weeks ago. My parents visited my house for lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, and after about 4 hours, Dad advised me he was ready to return home, meaning the care home. The food is amazing, and all the staff are incredibly kind to both me and my parents. An incredibly well managed care home!
I would definitely recommend Burford Nursing Home to anyone who was looking for a safe, caring environment for their loved one. Mum moved into Burford just before Christmas 2019 and a few months later Covid happened! During the lockdown period, the home was so supportive, arranging telephone calls, video calls and keeping us regularly informed of how she was during the time we weren't able to visit. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Every member of staff became her family and showed such love and compassion. Any concerns or worries I had were dealt with immediately by the nurse or management. Great support from the Drs at Burford surgery. Sadly Mum passed away in June 2022, but I know that for her final years we could not have chosen a better, safer, caring place for her to have lived.
The wife was admitted in September 2021 and at first I was not quite sure. Now I find the nursing home at Burford. the staff are very understanding and helpful, and friendly. The rooms comfortable and clean. Visiting well organised. The wife well looked after.
