View Full Details of The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care HomeMy mother has been a resident at Bernard Sunley for six months. In that time she has been treated with great care and dignity. The whole team run a very nice home and I cannot praise them all highly enough. Would definitely recommend this care home.
My mother has been a resident since July 2023. All the staff have always been excellent however when my mother sadly passed away in February, they went above and beyond. They were all so caring and kind. Myself, my sister and my father all felt so cared for and the love they showed towards my late mother was so touching. Words can't express our appreciation. Thank you.
My mum received palliative care at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home at the end of her life. It was excellent and across all areas, nursing, nutrition and housekeeping. All staff were welcoming to her and the family, being responsive and communicating any changes, seeking permissions when needed. At the end of her life, Mum was treated with kindness, care and compassion. Thank you.
My mother was at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home for a year and three quarters. At all times, she was cared for and treated with great consideration, kindness and much medical professionalism and skill. What I most appreciated about Bernard Sunley was the all around atmosphere of compassion and cheerfulness - they couldn't have been kinder or more willing to look after my mother.
Our darling mother was looked after in Bernard Sunley for two weeks before she passed on 21st June. Considering under the circumstances our mother was extremely unwell from cancer. The staff and all the management went out of their way and were amazing at caring for our mum in her last few days. My sister and I would like to thank you once again to everyone involved at Bernard Sunley. Amazing team.
My husband transferred from another care home at the beginning of June. He has been given lots of stimulation i.e. out of bed! And into his chair or wheelchair. Taken to the dining room. He is much happier and alert most of the time. There are always staff members around. I feel very confident in the care he is having. The atmosphere is very good. The brightly coloured picture and murals are lovely. The cafe is great to take him for a coffee.
My father has been in the care of the team at Woking Bernard Sunley for several months and I have nothing but praise for the job they are doing. Without exception, the staff have been amazing - kind, caring and supportive and I can’t thank them enough. The home itself is a lovely environment which is even better following the recent redecoration. It’s spacious and well-lit with plenty of relaxing communal spaces (indoor and out) and bright artwork on the walls. We couldn’t have chosen a better home for my father.
From the very first time meeting the manager and the care team, we knew this was the centre to best support Mum and Dad. The first-class level of patience, empathy and dignity has been nothing short of magical. The entire team feel like our extended family, with regular updates and an impeccable level of fun, care and warmth all throughout. A huge thank you.
My brother was admitted in September 2023. He had his own room with a window so he could see the trees and sky. Not known to him the staff came into his bedroom on his birthday (07/11/1939) and sang Happy Birthday. The timing was great as we had travelled up from Dorset and enjoyed the care. Our grateful thanks to the Manager and the staff.
Each and every member of staff at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home is very friendly and welcoming. The management team have always dealt with any concerns promptly and with understanding, care and compassion. The home is spotlessly clean and the care provided is second to none.
When we first visited The Bernard Sunley Nursing Home, the manager and staff were all very welcoming, they showed us to the room where our friend would be moving into, this room was bright and airy. It was a nice size with an en suite. When our friend arrived at the home, she was welcomed with friendliness and care. The whole experience of her stay was really lovely and all members of the staff even the cleaners and maintenance man were happy and chatted with you. I would recommend this lovely home as it was perfect.
1st class service all the way from the initial consultation to the end-of-life care received. Staff and management all superb and home is clean, light and airy. Would 100% recommend.
All the staff at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home, from the management team, the nursing staff, the carers and kitchen staff to all the professionals brought in for activities etc - were all exceptional. Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law were treated with dignity and were made to feel totally at home until the end of their lives. Thank you so much. My ratings say it all!
My dad was a resident in the Bernard Sunley Home for four years. He moved in to be with his wife, my stepmother who needed nursing care. From the outset, the staff were welcoming and most accommodating. Dad and Mam shared a bedroom and had a second room used as a sitting room so it was very much their home. When she became too ill to care for on the ground floor, Dad kept his room with access to the courtyard garden which became his solace, pride and joy. Again, he was supported by staff to tend his garden and share his tasty tomatoes! Dad gradually needed more help and this was kindly, skilfully and professionally given. The relationship between him and staff was wonderful. I live in North Nottinghamshire, so am very grateful for the support I have been given with regular updates and involvement with care plans over the phone. From cleaners to carers, their provision has been excellent.
My father had been in hospital for seven weeks and was not in a good way. The staff at The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home turned him around and made him really comfortable. Sadly he was only there a few months but I cannot fault the home at all, right from organising the release from the hospital and transport to the home, all the way through to the end of his life. All the staff are so caring and helpful, we were able to visit at any time, the food was very good quality and doctors, chiropodists etc were always available. They also helped us arrange a birthday party along with a huge cake which my father remembered for his remaining days. I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.
My 93-year-old mother was admitted to The Bernard Sunley Nursing and Dementia Care Home for care following a traumatic period of treatment in hospital for a fractured hip. The staff at Bernard Sunley were brilliant. They immediately reacted to the gravity of the situation, liaising with the GP to implement this and then did everything they could to ensure my mother was kept comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt welcome and supported whenever we visited. Sadly, my mother's time at Bernard Sunley was very short but we would just like to say thank you so much to the staff for your kindness during her last few weeks. I have not commented on the activities simply because my mother was not well enough to participate.
My mum spent the last two months of her life at Bernard Sunley Care Home. From the day she moved in, to the day she died, she was cared for with love and dignity. Every member of staff from nurses, management, to carers, made her time as comfortable and pleasant as possible. She was happy here and loved her carers. They were positive and took time to get to know her and her likes and dislikes. I would recommend the home, highly.
Mum has been at the Bernard Sunley for four and a half years. Sadly, she died at the beginning of November. Thank you to all the staff who cared for her during her time here. Everyone was always welcoming and friendly and staff were comforting to me on the night she died and during her last week. Thank you for all the cups of tea and cake and to those staff that popped in to see Mum. It has been a pleasure to be a part of The Bernard Sunley family. It was reassuring for me to know that when she could no longer live in her own home she was being well cared for. All the staff were always happy to chat and welcomed me and any members of the family who visited, especially when I brought Mum's very young great-granddaughter into the home! Although Mum didn't understand who she was, Mum would chat away to her and became much more animated which was lovely to see.
Outstanding customer service. A warm and friendly welcome from all, on every visit I make, from cleaners to Senior Management. Always have a cheery and welcoming smile. Outstanding facilities and food is pretty good too, my wife says.
The front office staff were excellent in responding to the organisation of respite care needs of my Uncle. The home is spotlessly clean and there seemed to be plenty of staff to cater for everyone. Rooms were spacious and there seemed to be an abundance of communal rooms for those residents who sought company.
