View Full Details of Cranmer CourtThe care taken of my mother has been excellent. She has been treated with dignity and kindness. Food is varied and interesting and caters for all eating issues. Rooms are kept clean and lots of activities are offered. The garden is lovely in the summer and family are invited to events. We have been kept informed of all changes to her health, and referrals to the doctor(s) are done promptly. Mum has loved all the staff and has made real relationships with many of them. The nurses and caring staff are gentle and kind and always give the impression of having time for residents and family. The home is well managed and staff seem to go that extra mile. Although it obviously is a care and nursing facility it very much has the feeling of a home where relatives are always welcome to pop in. I couldn't be more grateful for their excellent care of my Mum. I haven't had a single concern. I cannot recommend Cranmer Court highly enough. They looked after my aunt with kindness and gentleness and I have never had any concerns for her welfare. Staff are professional and make good relationships with residents. Medical concerns are dealt with quickly and care is increased as and when needed. My aunt has been very impressed with the food, and it gives her something lovely to look forward to each day. We held a 100th Birthday party for her at the home and the catering for this, and a family tea party was excellent. Everything was done to make her birthday really special. Staff know residents well and communication with family is very good. The setting is gorgeous and the car parking easy and sufficient. The weekly in-house hairdresser's gives many of the women, especially, a real self esteem boost. All the staff are lovely from the laundry ladies to the manager and the home always looks immaculate. The staff were incredibly kind to myself and my husband on the day she died.
The building itself is pleasant and welcoming. Barely any road or aircraft noise, so it's peaceful. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful, a marvellous place to while away the hours with a book or some headphones. The staff are amazing; respectful, attentive and thoroughly professional. The place even smells nice. The rooms are more than adequate with a television and ensuite but the focus is to interact and spend more time with others than tucked away by one's self. The food is of high quality and promptly served. The activities team are excellent; there's something to do every day, whether it be a visiting petting zoo or a harpist. All very inclusive and time is spent keeping those with mobility issues as mobile as possible with physical exercise tailored to the individual. The nursing staff are quick to telephone if there any problems; I was frequently called to be informed that my mother had fallen but there were no injuries. I would Highly recommend Cranmer Court
As soon as we stepped foot inside the beautiful building and we're made to feel so welcomed by all the staff, we knew immediately this was the place for Dad. The grounds are lovely and very well maintained. The rooms are so homely and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. My Dad thought he had moved into a new apartment, within a hotel. In my Dads own words "it was a very swanky hotel, the best of the best!"He also referred to the large dining area as the restaurant and always said how lovely the food was. Dad wasn't well enough to take part in any activities, but from what I saw there was plenty on offer. I think they even occasionally have a visit from a donkey! I personally can not thank the manager enough, who helped out tremendously. Very professional, calm and caring. The lovely Secretary always had time for you and made you feel very welcome. All the staff were so friendly and took the time to go and have a chat and a laugh with Dad. Highly recommend Cranmer Court!
It's quite amazing to all what the Cranmer Court have achieved since its opening. Care support always on hand in any emergency and the help residents get is always given with dignity and respect. All staff including support staff ie hairdressers, chiropody and physios, management are excellent - they will always be there for you and help make decisions regarding your relative. Rooms are fully furnished with TV security and there are emergency buttons to the main office. Facilities are a real bonus - the care home is set in its own grounds with large rambling areas, with adequate parking and disabled bays. Residents have the pleasure of beautiful gardens, well maintained, herbaceous borders, lawns and hanging baskets. Drinks on tap 24/7 in corridors. Many choices of food on the menu - samples are brought to the resident if there is any doubt. You have games, music rooms, outdoor functions throughout the summer. Resident meetings 4x a year with family. Security I cannot faul. Value for money a big yes. I should like to add that because I am disabled I have been able to use my mobility scooter in the home because of its open plan.
We initially chose Cranmer Court for 2 weeks convalescent care for my Mum but she actually stayed for 3 months. We found the all the staff to be kind & caring towards, not only my Mum but the whole family. Activities were plentiful, varied and at times great fun. I also liked the open door policy, which allows family to come and go at whatever times suited them best. we also had a large family gathering in the upstairs private lounge which was easily arranged and supported by the staff, the nurses even came and found us at medication times. I would not hesitate to recommend Cranmer Court, the manager and her whole team are wonderful.
We looked at several care homes before choosing Cranmer Court and liked it from the start. It's an attractive building set in lovely grounds and maintained well. Staff were always friendly, with a lot of them working there for several years, which I think speaks volumes. My mother in law was at Cranmer for about seventeen months. The staff always treated her with dignity and respect, knew her likes and dislikes well and were up to date with her changing care needs. The nursing staff were excellent. After a week long stay in hospital, we were extremely pleased for her to return to Cranmer where we knew, without any fear of worry, she would be cared for to a high standard. Although my mother in law didn't attend many of the activities, there was always a varied choice on offer. Obviously there was the odd issue now and again, but anything raised was satisfactorily addressed. I feel certain I am only able to write highly of Cranmer Court due it being led by an excellent manager.
Choosing a care home for a beloved parent or relative is always a daunting process, and our family dedicated a lot of time to exploring various options. From the moment we visited Cranmer Court, we felt a sense of reassurance that it was the perfect fit for our mother's needs. She settled in quickly, and her room was comfortable. The staff were exceptional; always attentive and ready to assist, ensuring our mother's comfort and well-being. A special mention must go to the manager. Her wealth of experience and compassionate approach provided our family with the peace of mind we needed during this transition. We truly believe we made the right choice with Cranmer Court, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.
Immediate impression good. Staff very kind and helpful. Staff/residents meetings are useful to ensure expectations are discussed, and where necessary services reviewed and revised. Nursing staff do an excellent job and are very approachable. The home provides a variety of activities which are well attended. Catering and laundry are very good.
Excellent care and friendly staff.
Given the problem of the care industry and the size and variety of the challenges it faces, I feel the management at Cranmer Court does an outstanding job! In her 17th and 18th year with Parkinsons, and serveral years with 'mixed dementia', it could never be easy for my beloved wife, but she was always treated with dignity. I tried to spend time with her every day and received equal consideration. It is a lovely building in beautiful gardens, with some dedicated nurses and carers. Occasionally, care levels can fall - especially over weekends - possibly due to staff shortages.
My mother-in-law was a resident at Cranmer Court for 11 months. She was very happy with her new surroundings, her room was comfortable and cosy and she could not have been better cared for by the staff, always on hand at the press of a button. Particular praise goes to the manager, who was compassionate to the family when we were searching for a home for her, that, together with the atmosphere, decor and beautiful surroundings cinched it for us. She was always available if we had any concerns.
My uncle was looked after beautifully at Cranmer Court. He was discharged from hospital, and received kindness and care in a lovely setting. He was only at Cranmer Court for a short time but it was a kind and compassionate, peaceful convalescence for him. God bless.
My parents moved into the home in early March 2024. The staff here have been amazing. They understand that this is not only a place where they work, but more importantly, this is the home of the residents. Unfortunately, my Father died this month. The staff were so caring of both my Father in his last few days, and also of us as a family. They have continued to support us as we support our Mother. It isn't just the care staff and nurses who care for the residents, it's all the staff. They know all the residents and many of their families. Thank you!
It is very difficult to entrust a loved one to the care of others. I felt generally my mother was well looked after but at weekends it seemed the center was less well staffed. A few items of clothing seem to have got lost and a battery-operated shaver. It would have been nice if the activities staff spent a little more time just being with her, as a company. It was a real pity mum couldn't talk and people couldn't get to know about her life and her personality, how lovely she was. Sometimes we felt more time, care and gentle persuasion with feeding would have been good.
My Father was at Cranmer Court for two weeks respite, whilst Mum was in hospital. Right from day one he was welcomed by every person he had contact with warmth and a reassuring smile. The care he received has been amazing and he has regained his spirit and sense of humour. We will be sad to leave but if circumstances change, we would love Dad to return. A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you, but special mention to a member of staff in particular - you are a joy.
Thank you so much for your help in getting our nan into respite care so quickly. During such a stressful time Cranmer Court arranged the room within a few hours and made the transition from hospital a lot easier for us. It really helped with our nan's recovery and knowing she was getting around-the-clock care from such a lovely team was a huge relief. Highly recommended!
Having seen many care homes, this one stood out for us in the friendliness of all the staff and the very high quality of the entire building and grounds. We put Mum in there in January and have been blown away by the standard of care and friendliness of all the staff. They constantly engage with their residents on first-name terms and win their trust very quickly. They arrange daily activities so that even if they don’t want to join in they have a laugh and joke with them and keep them entertained. Very impressed with the dining room, which looks like a lovely restaurant and taking to there for their meals encourages them to eat. Cannot rate this home and staff highly enough.
Excellent care, family atmosphere, especially the nursing care. Expensive but what price peace of mind. Food could improve. The Care Manager is exceptional.
Totally thrilled that Cranmer Court have invited my husband to be a member of the family. A happy, caring, professional home from home. Staff are all so helpful. My husband is lucky.
We couldn't have asked for our Mum to be looked after any better by every single mother of staff, they are all amazing.
