View Full Details of Knowle Park Nursing HomeStaff at Knowle Park went above and beyond for my Dad on his Birthday. They made sure my Dad was totally spoilt and he was made to feel very special indeed. The genuine care that the staff provide at Knowle Park to my Dad on a daily basis means such a lot, not only to my Dad but to us as his family too. Great work to all at Knowle Park and thank you for everything you do.
Overall, Knowle Park is a beautiful building with lovely well-kept gardens. Most of the rooms are charming with clean paintwork and nice, tasteful furniture, although our mother's room requires some redecoration and the windows need refurbishment or replacing. This, however, does not detract from it being a lovely room and it's such a pity that blindness stops her from enjoying the magnificent views from three big windows. The care received is excellent, with the staff always cheerful and helpful. In the three months our mum has been at Knowle Park she has developed a special relationship with a number of carers and this has made such a difference in adding a little pressure to a life now blighted by dementia and blindness. The food is good, with plenty of variety, and for those who want entertainment and activities, there's always a lot going on in the home's splendid and impressive drawing room. Of course, all of this comes at quite a high price, but it's certainly not out of line with care homes of this quality in our area. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Not only because our mother's end of life care is so important to us but also because we too find our frequent visits to Knowle Park such a pleasurable experience.
Mum is a long-term resident of Knowle Park, arriving from hospital in February 2021. Knowle Park itself is an airy and light building surrounded by well-tended, often colourful gardens which residents enjoy in the warmer months. The staff are absolutely magnificent. They were quick to recognise Mum's preferences for simple food, minimal medication, Elvis and cola. There is a staff star of the month nomination box, but every month, we would have to put all the staff names in, as each and every one of them contributes something unique and special to Mum's ongoing care and our peace of mind. Doors are always open, and at each visit, I've found Mum and her room to be fresh, clean and comfortable. Management have been swift to provide wanted advice, and nursing staff is always available to explain and chat through health issues. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Knowle Park.
I have found everybody really helpful and helped with different problems that I had in the past and the carers helped me through it.
Our dear and close friend originally went for some respite care as she lived alone and was in need of some extra care. The care and kindness she received from all members of staff was amazing and she was very happy there and decided to extend the stay in the beautiful room she occupied. The staff were always very welcoming to us too. We spoke to the manager about long-term care as she realised she would not be able to live alone at home. However, sadly her health deteriorated and she received end-of-life care and passed away peacefully in our presence.
When I came to Knowle Park I was very poorly having had a stroke after my husband died. The care home has put me back together again and it feels like my home. I had planned to move to a retirement village but could not get back here quick enough!
My wife has only been a resident for 17 days (after 55 days in hospital) but so far so very good. Unfortunately my wife's mental state alongside her physical issues means that she is unable to properly appreciate the facilities and all the care that is being shown for her but not knowing what to expect, I can only say (on behalf also of my daughters) how reassured we are about how well she is being looked after on both the medical side and all the other aspects of her stay. I have not ticked any of the activities boxes as she is currently unable to participate.
My mother needed some convalescence care following a bout of pneumonia over Christmas. We were so lucky that there was a room available at Knowle Park. Friends had recommended Knowle Park but we didn't have time to visit beforehand because of a sudden discharge from hospital but we didn't need to worry. On arrival, we were welcomed by all the staff who could not have been more caring. The past few days had been very stressful but as soon as we arrived and our mother was settled into her room, we knew that we could all relax. She immediately felt safe and secure and could do what she needed which was to rest. The facilities are wonderful with superb views and lots of bright areas to sit and chat. But really what made her stay so special was the care given by every staff member who pay such close attention to their residents. I can't speak highly enough of our experience at Knowle Park and it is definitely my mother's first choice should she need care in the future.
My wife was transferred directly from the hospital to Knowle Park in January 2023 because she was unable to stand or walk and had fairly advanced dementia. She therefore required nursing from the outset. The staff at Knowle Park were outstanding and their care and patience in looking after her. Whenever possible they would hoist her from bed into a wheelchair and then to the dining room, lounge or garden so she could interact with other residents, have meals and enjoy the entertainers. When it was her birthday they decorated her room with banners and balloons and helped us have a small party with family members in the conservatory. It was the last occasion she really laughed. In her last 5 weeks, taking the medication she required she was only semi-conscious most of the time but the care and attention did not falter. She died peacefully in December 2023. I will forever be grateful for all that Knowle Park did for her.
The staff at Knowle Park were nothing short of outstanding while my mother was a resident. They went out of their way to make a difficult situation manageable and we cannot thank them enough. Their care and compassion were remarkable and greatly appreciated by our family. I highly recommend the care home.
The staff and management at Knowle Park went above and beyond. Every visit was a pleasure and they were never put out by any request. Compassionate, caring and an incredible team as a whole. Compared to other care homes my mother-in-law was in previously, Knowle Park is leagues ahead. Five stars and many more.
When visiting the home all people were lovely and information was given, there was no rush and everybody relaxed and friendly. All the staff spoke to you, said hello and engaged in what was going on. Since then my Father arrived on end-of-life care, they looked after him excellently until he passed. I can't thank them enough for what they did for him and my Mum. They are all so friendly and helpful and have put my mind at rest that Mum is being well looked after and cared for.
I had an excellent time at Knowle Park and enjoyed my visit (for rest and recuperation). The staff, from nurses to cleaners were outstandingly efficient and kind. However, I did not realise the full benefit until I came home and realised how much better I felt. Thank you.
I have been visiting a good friend and ex-neighbour most weeks since she was lucky enough to get a place at Knowle Park at the beginning of this year. My experience of the staff has been consistently outstanding - upbeat, helpful, attentive and caring - from every staff member, without exception. The home has a lovely atmosphere and the team clearly enjoy working together and are dedicated to their residents. My friend is very lucky indeed to be there.
I visited Knowle Park to visit my grandmother, with my wife and 2-year-old son. We were really impressed with the building and grounds, and my grandmother clearly felt at home and comfortable there. A big part of that will be the care from the lovely staff, who were so helpful and friendly. We got a really nice vibe from the place - calming and quiet with good care for the residents.
As a regular visitor to Knowle Park, I am always warmly welcomed by all the staff. My friend there is always looked after by the excellent carers, nurses and management. His room is always very clean as are the communal areas. Thank must go to everyone for looking after him so well.
My mother not only left her home but moved countries last summer. She settled into Knowle Park quickly with the support of all the staff. The staff at Knowle Park are dedicated, caring and very supportive. They truly make my mum's life so much richer and it gives me the peace of mind knowing she is cared for and happy.
My sister is a resident of Knowle Park. She has a beautiful room overlooking the garden full of daffodils. It's spring! It was my sister's husband's birthday: he organised a family lunch at Knowle Park for all the family. The chef cooked us a delicious meal, finishing with a scrumptious chocolate birthday cake. The staff were marvellous, decorating the room with balloons, greetings, and a beautifully laid table. My sister looked beautiful thanks to the kindness and attention of the nurses, together with her new hairstyle courtesy of her daughter. Many thanks to Knowle for a very happy occasion.
Mum has been a resident for 15 months and she has received very good care. The food has generally been very good, with a range of choices to tempt most appetites. There are lots of interesting activities on the go throughout the week, and the recreation therapists work to find interesting activities, regular visitors that provide music, singing and art for example, and outings are once again picking up following the challenges of the Covid period. The buildings are light, airy and well maintained and the grounds are extensive and provide a lovely outlook and have lovely seating areas when the weather is warm enough to sit out. Families are kept up to date with the activities and encouraged to visit and take part in things that are happening on a daily basis and special events, eg Diamond Jubilee tea party which was great fun. The nursing team are very happy to discuss Mum's health and medical needs and has worked in partnership with the family. Very highly recommended.
Mum became a resident at Knowle Park in July 2022. She is settled, well cared for, warm and safe. The staff are all caring and we are kept informed of any issues. Did not want this situation for Mum but as it has happened we are happy that she is in the safe hands of Knowle Park.
