My father stayed at the care home for a month for respite and convalescence, and we were extremely pleased with the experience. His room was spacious and well-equipped with a large en-suite bathroom, providing a comfortable environment. The staff were consistently kind, friendly and attentive, adapting to his changing care needs with ease. The food was excellent, though the portions were quite generous, something that might be a plus for many. We also appreciated the warm welcome extended to family visitors at any time. Overall, the care provided was to be commended.
My brother and I had to find a residential home for our mother when she became unable to look after herself due to advanced Dementia. This involved relocating her from 160 miles away - a big change for us all, and the staff were incredibly understanding and kind to both her and my brother and I. Mum's room is cosy, clean and comfortable with views over the garden. All members of staff are welcoming and kind and are excellent with Mum, having endless patience. This has helped Mum to settle in quickly. I always feel like she's well cared for and that the staff know her really well. I would highly recommend Milner House, thank you to all the staff for the amazing job you do!
My husband, who has dementia, has been at Milner House for nearly 18 months, after I realised I could no longer care for him at home. My husband can be difficult at times, but Milner House has fallen over backwards to help him feel calmer, listened to and valued. From conversations with staff, I can tell they know him very well. Milner House itself has character, space and good direction. The staff are friendly, courteous and capable. There is a tangible sense of good communication skills among them, compassion, innovation, endless patience and professionalism. I feel reassured that my husband is valued, relevant and safe. What more could I ask for!
Being faced with the daunting task of finding a suitable residential home for my father was made so much easier with the help of two particular members of staff from the care home advisory service. They recommended Milner House and put me in contact with the Customer Relations Manager at Milner House. A convenient date for viewing the home was quickly arranged and she showed my mother around and provided all the answers to our questions. It wasn't long before an assessment was carried out to determine what care needs my father required and a few days later he was welcomed to Milner House which he is very comfortable with and it has become a home from home very quickly. The staff are attentive and genuinely show an interest in my father and I'm always welcomed with a smile and nothing seems too much trouble. May I say a big thank you to two particular members of staff along with all the other staff for making my father feel settled and comfortable at Milner House.
We had to choose a residential home for my mum when she became unable to look after herself and found the perfect one for her, Milner House. Her room is lovely with views over the gardens and spacious - really a home from home. The staff are patient and really understand how to look after the needs of the elderly (and sometimes, bewildered). It is clean, welcoming and is full of genuine people making the lives of those in residence better and brighter.
My husband has advanced Dementia and I was seeking a fortnight's respite care for him. Following visiting several homes in the Leatherhead area Milner House stood out and he subsequently was admitted for a respite stay. The staff went into detail beforehand to find out as much as possible about my husband's former life and his daily routine at home in order they could replicate it as much as possible so that on his return home there would not be too much disruption for him to cope with. The care he was given was excellent, the staff are lovely, welcoming, caring and always have a smile on their face. The building is well maintained, the rooms well decorated and equipped - everywhere is very clean - and the grounds lovely. The staff at Milner House do an amazing job - thank you so very much.
Dad has been a resident at Milner House for nearly 3 years. I have always been happy with the care he has received but I can honestly say that the home has stepped up a level over the last few months. He is and has always been treated by every single member of staff with respect and dignity and, as his dementia advances, the care he is receiving is adapted appropriately and seamlessly. The consistency of staff members at the home makes a huge difference too, so he knows and recognises familiar faces who are so kind and welcoming to him and all our family. The home is sparkling with a refurb in many areas and clearly, huge efforts are being made to keep it squeaky clean. I echo previous comments that the new lifestyle co-ordinator has made a real difference with a full programme of activities. Thank you Milner House you are doing a fantastic job and it is such a relief to know he is in your care.
Regular activities have improved my mum's mental well-being massively. Care staff are attentive and show genuine care and empathy with residents. Mum says 'nothing is too much trouble for them'. She is often difficult to please so this is a high accolade indeed! A relative staff regularly asks about my well-being which is much appreciated.
The new management team at Milner House have built on the already solid work of the previous team. The staff are doing a wonderful job in handling the increased care my father requires due to his advancing dementia. The support he receives continues to be exemplary. Thank you to all at Milner House!
It's a big decision when a loved one goes into a care home. Milner House staff helped make that a smooth transition. The staff are friendly, and I can say they all do their best for the residents of the home. The events they put on for residents are first-class.
I cannot recommend Milner House highly enough. After living independently for all of her life and researching all options, my friend made the decision to move into Milner House in October 2023. At 100 years old and having always lived alone she was understandably slightly anxious as to how her life would be in such a different setting but the transition has been a wonderful experience. Every member of staff has been kind, caring and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and her life has been transformed by the wide variety of daily activities, visits by entertainers and Jackson the therapy dog. I am confident she is very well cared for, well fed, making new friends and is very much enjoying this next chapter of her life as part of the Milner House family.
Mum has been at Milner House since August 21. The staff are friendly and very caring. Mum has dementia and she is treated with dignity, and respect and is very well looked after which to us as a family is lovely to see. It is such a hard decision to make putting a loved one into a home but we know that Mum is in her forever home and is happy. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do.
Milner House is just marvellous. I am so happy my mum is being cared for there. My mum has dementia and quite high medical needs and the staff at Milner House are just brilliant at looking after her. They know her so well and really do have her best interests at heart. Every day is a busy day there with quizzes, films, playing cards and doing arts and crafts, which my mum really enjoys. My mum is always fresh and clean with clean clothes on too which is just perfect. I highly recommend Milner House. It’s great!
A quick note to express our thanks in helping and supporting us in the adjustment of our loved one moving into the care home. Started as respite and then with requesting to stay as it made them feel like they were at home. All staff are supportive of residents, their families and of each other, always helpful, friendly and polite. Very much an extension of family and cannot express how much they are all appreciated.
Mum was admitted as an emergency for end-of-life care. the nurse made an exception to ensure Mum could be accepted after 18:00 which was really appreciated at a very stressful time. The whole team were professional, informative and kind. The carers were exceptional with the kindness and respect they showed not only to Mum but as as well at a very difficult time.
Right from day one, I have always found the staff very friendly and welcoming.
The recent change in the management has made an immediate impact. The lifestyle coordinator has made such a difference, organising many new activities, outings and visitors. He also engages with the residents in a warm and knowledgeable manner, always trying to meet individual needs. There is a totally new atmosphere, the staff are more attentive and they work very well as a team. Keep up the good work!
After a fall in March and a fractured knee, my mum has been in and out of hospital with her dementia deteriorating rapidly! So when my sister and i finally had to admit she could no longer go home it was very difficult for us to choose a 'forever' home for her. Milner was not our first choice as Mum was rejected by our first choice and, as someone who believes things happen for a reason, that definitely could not have been more true Mum. Since she went into Milner she has improved massively. I cannot tell you how quickly she settled (much to our surprise!), her whole mobility etc is improving daily and she is even eating which is another amazing feat! The team at Milton have been absolutely amazing. It is very difficult to single any one person out as everyone I have dealt with have been kind, compassionate and very patient with two daughters who love their mum dearly. They arranged a 'hairdo' for the first time since March and she looked fabulous. What a difference they have made.
My mother moved into Milner House in February of this year she is suffering from dementia. The staff have always been excellent, kind, cheerful, attentive and willing to help. Mum was highly independent which in itself created problems at the start with her not wanting to leave her room apart from other things, slowly, slowly they have got her out of herself and now she is willing to go to the lounge all day which is good. Hopefully with the weather improving she will go outside when possible. The staff from management downwards have always been willing to talk and help which is wonderful to see and also willing to sort out any issues which come along. All in all I feel happy that Mum is there and can go about my life knowing that she is being looked after properly and thoughtfully. Thanks to all at Milner House and long may it last.
Very sadly my dear mum passed away in early January after being a resident at Milner House for just over three years. It seems appropriate to publicly thank the whole team for their dedication, thoughtfulness and for the wonderful care bestowed upon Mum in her whole time as a resident. Also, for their tireless efforts to make Mum as happy as could be. Fortunately, Mum was able to show appreciation in the only way she knew - a whopping great smile. The family's appreciation is, of course, enormous, particularly with the sensitive and dignified way in which her final days were managed. We will be forever grateful for the peaceful passing and are in no doubt the staff wholly played their part. Thank you for everything you did, and to the greater audience, I could not recommend a much better caring environment. Thank you.
