View Full Details of Parkside Nursing HomeMy wife has been a resident for about a year now. Her care is first class from the carers who look after her and the new manager is a great organiser and also very caring. I visit my wife as often as possible and she tells me she is happy with her care but she has two small concerns. She feels the food could be of a higher standard and better quality with more choices and variety and at times it's too spicy and salty. She also tells me that the activities other than the weekend could be improved. Overall she is very satisfied and together we thank you for all you are doing.
My mum is a resident at Parkside. From the initial call to be informed that there is a bed available for her to help with settling her in, the manager and her colleagues are just awesome. They are the ultimate professional and caring staff. They have helped my mum and us (my sis, uncle, and family) with so much to ensure Mum has all the help she needs. I can't commend them enough.
Dad settled well. The manager and the team made great efforts to quickly find out about him. Consequences: ensured switch went well; continuing engagement has been so Dad-centred, he now has far better stimulation and contentment. Impressed by cleanliness overall, e.g. saw the prompt and discrete, effective, assistance dealing with incontinence and the aftermath of our dad. The visitor loo is spotless. Plus environment, with staff and manager team really 'together', and plenty of tea available - Dad-critical! Plus visitors are well supported e.g.fantastic to see staff engaging with two small children so that their mum could have better mother/daughter time with her mum. Plus Dad's room is nice. Great touch: redecorated for his arrival. But building ageing. The manager is doing all she can to deliver within significant operational constraints. There is some concern that aspects of the physical environment could unreasonably affect views others might have about the care of residents. To be clear, I, and mine, are really glad Dad is at Parkside.
We found staff and carers were thoughtful and kind. My husband was happy in their care and they also liked him. His room was looking onto the garden which he loved. They were also kind to visitors.
My mother was very well looked after in her time at the home. The staff were very caring and considerate, she was happy and content. Although the building and decor may be tired, none of that matters when the care is excellent. The staff seem to treat all residents with care and dignity. Certainly not a job I could do.
My mother couldn't be in a better place or have better care. The staff are so kind and look after every resident with kindness and respect. I am so pleased I found Parkside Nursing Home.
I am very impressed with the recovery my friend is showing, due I know to the care and consideration shown by all staff. No praise is too high for them! Long may they keep up the good work.
My father was a resident at the home until his death on the 30th of September. My father and all our family were treated like a family at Parkside. Nothing was too much trouble even when Dad was unconscious he was shaved, washed and dressed and the staff would still talk to him. When Dad departed again he was shaved, washed and dressed ready for his final journey. We have been welcomed back and the manager came to his funeral to represent the home. We were so touched and will be forever indebted to all the wonderful staff here.
Outstanding! Very compassionate environment. Friendly and supportive staff who have helped my mum and my family enormously. Good rooms, communal area, and activities and the food is good, really very impressed. The most important thing, as in life, is the people! Engaging, warm, considerate and supportive, everything you need during this quite stressful period. Thanks very much.
My wife has been in Parkside 12 months and I have been very pleased with the wonderful patient care and support all staff give her. She has been a problem at times but patience and loving care are watchwords of Parkside.
My mother has been here since September 2021. I feel she is very happy here and I feel the same. The staff, in my opinion, are first class and I have no complaints.
I feel hugely grateful to the care my father received during the last weeks of his life at Parkside. The quality of end-of-life care my father and our family received was exceptional in all the ways that were most important. The manager invited feedback and promptly followed up our questions and concerns. The nursing care was of a very high standard, the nurse on duty kept us informed of any changes or concerns. We always felt welcome to visit at any time including my niece and her young children. The home has a family feel, most of the staff having worked there a long time. The manager was always available, responsive, and inspired our confidence. It was a difficult transition for my father but his concerns were listened to and responded to with care and respect. The support we all received meant we could focus on spending quality time with him in the last weeks of his life.
I am so impressed by the compassion and kindness shown by every member of the staff who I encountered when there, visiting my mum. The individual attention and care is remarkable: the apt pictures on the doors of each patient represent real interest in each individual. On Mum's arrival, I was telephoned for pointers in Mum's life, reminiscences Mum would enjoy chatting over. Planned activities are varied: I would wholeheartedly recommend Parkside to anyone.
The new manager has come in with an abundance of energy and ideas. Things have improved practically and visually. I also feel the staff are happier. Every effort is being made to make changes that will benefit everyone, staff and residents.
The staff are very friendly and always ready to help. The home is well-run and very clean. Meals could be warmer when served to residents and I think could be monitored before taking plates back as often patients eat very little and that does not seem to be registered. Also would be nice to see warm meals on occasion in the evening apart from sandwiches. The staff I find are very willing and friendly. This lady and myself have been partners (living apart)s for 25 years.
Over the last few months, lots of improvements and looking much fresher. The new manager is very good. The head of activities is amazing.
My father passed the final six weeks of his life in Parkside. Firstly, the nursing care from all members of the care team was excellent. They also took time to care for us too - always available to chat and update us. All senior members of the staff made themselves available. Excellent communication. Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend Parkside, especially if nursing care is required.
Welcoming staff. Always clean.
The new manager has changed this home amazingly. Not just the decor, but the staff have been so motivated by her example. I look forward to the next CQC report. I am sure it will be an improvement. Well done to all the staff.
On arrival when visiting, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The medical nurses are very helpful and keep me informed on my husband's condition. Carers are attentive and helpful, sometimes under pressure when short-staffed, then not always quick to respond when a patient needs the toilet - accidents happen! Food and service are very good. Overall the home is being decorated and updated making improvements for the better all round. The management are very helpful, would recommend to other people to go there.
