View Full Details of Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care HomeMy mother seems very happy and settled at the Queen Elizabeth Park. She has dementia and is very forgetful. The staff seem kind and thoughtful and the entertainment staff are brilliant. Mum can be found in someone else's bedroom by mistake but the staff always know where she is! At weekends it seems that fewer staff are available. Mum always loved music, dancing, creative arts, children, garden centres, trips and animals. The QEP offers all of those things which is wonderful. Recently, however, Mum rarely appears in any of those activities, which is a shame as she is happy to join in if my sister and I suggest it. So maybe they could be a little more persuasive with Mum to get her to join in with the fun. That would be great.
I am confident that the care Mum receives is of a high quality, caring and professional, she always seems content when I visit. Mum loves her word games and her crosswords and the activity team and the staff do their best to encourage Mum to join in. Mum has dementia but she can still make her own choices and I feel that this is fully respected. Both me and my sister are very grateful to all the staff for their hard work and dedication and feel happy taking time away in the knowledge that Mum is safe and cared for.
The staff at Queen Elizabeth Park Home have been so supportive of my mum who went there from hospital. They have made her welcome and are supportive of her needs encouraging her to be more mobile. My mum is now able to enjoy activities at the home.
My mother's body is gradually failing her; she can no longer walk or even stand unaided and her sight is almost gone, so her care needs are many. I am completely confident that her care at Queen Elizabeth Park is professional, caring, dignified, and thoughtful. She still has full mental capacity and reinforces this view. She appreciates the opportunities to socialise over meals and through the activities on offer which give some quality of life back to her. I visit almost daily, and really appreciate that the staff are always one step ahead of me in identifying the need for, and then arranging a doctors visit or hearing aid repair. When I do go away, I am able to relax in the knowledge that my mother is in safe and caring hands.
I still remain very happy and relieved my mother is being cared for at Queen Elizabeth Park. I am always greeted and treated politely by all the staff whatever job they do - and this has been continuous over the last two years. It feels almost like a second home for me. I know my mother is happy, cared for and safe here and l am so grateful she will be spending her final years in such a fabulous place.
My Mother seems content although gets confused and has no short-term memory. Occasionally the staff seem rather stretched, especially at a weekend. Staff are on the whole very helpful and friendly and if I have a medical issue respond quickly.
From the moment I contacted the manager I felt Daddy would be in safe hands. She was kind, caring and considerate. So too her teams. The activities were plentiful and the services were great. I have worked at all levels in the health service all my life so I know what I am looking for. For my dad, he soon settled in the 3/52 he was there. However, at 95 and still very active he just wanted to be home. His only criticism was the team came into his room when he was in the bathroom! Many thanks.
My mother required emergency respite care, the manager was able to assess her needs on the same day of admission that was required. The unit manager and staff on the ground floor have shown compassion to my mother ensuring her dignity and involvement of my mother completing a care plan addressing all her physical and emotional needs.
The home is wonderful. Very professionally run. The staff are very attentive and professional. The home has really good entertainment coming to the home, which I think is wonderful. Activities are varied and well organised. I appreciate everything that management and staff are doing for my mum.
Always said I would not put my parents in a home, however, after my father suffered a bleed to the brain his needs were too great to stay home. Queen Elizabeth Park though is amazing. They have taken such great care of my dad. Food is delicious, very high standard, and varied. Activities every day. Home is clean and smells fresh. Cannot fault it. Staff are wonderful and very caring.
My mum has only been in your care for 6 weeks. Our family have been relieved to see how quickly she has settled in. We can't thank all the lovely staff for their care and attention enough. The activities arranged by the staff over the Xmas period were extremely varied and everyone was included.
Great care in a nice environment with warm and friendly staff.
My husband has been in the nursing home now, just over 2 months, and seems to have settled in well. He looks well, and the staff look after him well. I spent a very nice Christmas time with him, and the entertainments through the season were fun.
Dad has been a resident at Queen Elizabeth Park for 2 years now. He says himself, it is the most wonderful place (if he can't be in his own home). He enjoys banter with the staff, likes the food and is entertained by the various events arranged for the delight of the residents.
It’s been an amazing place for my mum. All the staff are very good to her. The activities they do like bringing animals into her room and painting her nails give her so much pleasure. I would like her to be in her wheelchair more. But we are working on that. So she could join in more of the entertainment.
I have nothing but praise for Queen Elizabeth Park Care Home. The staff have all been lovely, patient and helpful. The management and organisation team made the process of admission very easy, coordinating with the health authorities. The rooms are clean with a view out to trees. The food is very good. The care staff have made us very welcome and have all made time for us. I would not hesitate to recommend the care home.
My mother was able to move into a ground-floor room at quite short notice at the end of November, having had a 2 week respite stay back in March. It is a huge change from living on her own at home but she has been very happy, even ringing us up one evening to say what a wonderful day she had had. The staff are attentive and willing, and the activity programme so varied including trips out. There is a good local connection with my mother's church as well.
Our mum has been in Queen Elizabeth Park now for over 2 years and the care has been absolutely excellent throughout. Early on she struggled to settle and we found the management listened well and patiently helped her adjust. She has gone from being traumatised and anxious when she first came in to being happy and relaxed - sleeping well and participating in a wide range of activities regularly. As a sociable person she is always surrounded by people and the staff, particularly the long-standing ones, are superb in their care. We are so grateful that we managed to find Mum a place at Queen Elizabeth Park.
My mother's care throughout her 3 years at Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care Home has been exceptional. This review relates to my mother's last month before she sadly passed away in July 2023. The staff treated Mum as if she was their own mother, so caring and compassionate. Communication with us (her 3 daughters) was very good. A carer was with Mum as she passed away in the early hours.
My mother is so happy here. She feels very at home, due to the love and care given by every member of the Queen Elizabeth Park team. She loves the cafe area, the elegant dining room and the numerous trips organised. She has dementia and has really become sociable since moving in. The activities organised are around the clock and extremely stimulating. She literally gets a knock on the door and is reminded about everything that is going on. My mother is happy, hence I am!
