View Full Details of Robertson Nursing HomeMum has been living here for a year now, and their kindness and attention to her has been wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they all put 100% effort in every day. They are always open to suggestions, which are noted and they genuinely want to know what else they can do to make the resident's lives as happy as possible. Nursing care is top-notch. They have recently had a change in activity staff but I am confident the amount of mental and physical activities will be full on again now they have the new people established. It is a homely atmosphere where everyone works hard at making the everyday, special. Mum likes her room, she says it's small enough to be warm and is always neat and tidy.
Dad's not been at Robertsons for very long, but all members of the team have made Dad feel extremely welcome and settled. It's like a home from home. The care and compassion of the team is outstanding.
My father received excellent care at Robertson's. The carers and nurses were very kind to him and made his final year as good as it could be. I always knew he was safe and well looked after. The food was good and the chef visited my father every day to see what he would like for lunch and dinner. The manager is extremely good and spends a lot of time talking and listening to what the residents need.
My mother had a fall and it became apparent that she needed to be in a care home, a difficult decision to make but my mother has settled in really well. I am kept informed about everything, nothing is too much trouble and all the staff at the home are very friendly and caring not just to my mother but the family as well, the food is lovely too according to my mother!
My mum moved into the care home in May 24. She was very weak and frail and not interested in eating or drinking. Within two weeks of being at Robertsons, the staff had her up in a chair and sitting in the conservatory. Since then she has become stronger and now enjoying do all the activities they offer. She has joined the cooking club and gardening club. The staff are so kind and tentative and genuinely love their job and the care they give is outstanding. Mum is enjoying the food and looks forward to her meals where all the residents come together to eat. During the sunny warm days, I find mum sitting out in the garden under a huge tree offering shade and sometimes having an ice cream whilst listening to music from a local choir or musician. Moving my mum into a home was not what we wanted to do but I can honestly say that it has been the best decision as she seems so happy there and we all love going there and spending time with her in such a friendly environment.
My mother came to Robertson Nursing Home recently from hospital having had a serious fall. I knew from the moment I visited that Roberton had a warm and caring environment. The staff are very professional and compassionate and clearly work well as a team, taking pride in their work. From what I have seen so far the home is extremely well managed, spotlessly clean and the nurses and carers go the extra mile to make residents’ lives fulfilled. They take an individualised approach to care and work with family to understand residents’ needs. Communication is excellent. My mother is being very well cared for here and her physical condition is improving. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Robertson Nursing Home to others and I am very grateful for the wonderful care my mother is receiving.
My mother has been a resident of Robertson for over 5 years now, and I cannot fault the staff in any way. they have always been kind, caring, compassionate and efficient in all their dealings with her.
Unable to initially visit my mother, my experiences of her new home were ‘from afar’. Previously, the manager swiftly answered my initial queries and later attended to 2 personal requests concerning my mother’s room and birthday. During my daily phone calls with my mother in her room, I overheard carers' gentle and respectful interactions with her during their tasks. When phoning the home, staff answered promptly and politely, asking how they could assist and twice immediately took their phone to check my mother’s welfare. I was emailed invitations to ‘family’ events and prompt updates about a covid case. Finally able to visit, the manager showed me the home’s facilities, introduced staff (who spoke knowingly and affectionately of my mother) and my mother’s new friends. I saw the daily staff handover and learnt Beritaz’s staff development results in good staff retention, the manager and her aid being two good examples. I remain confident my mother is in safe, caring hands - a sentiment she shares.
Mum initially started to use Robertson for respite. She was always happy to spend time with the lovely staff who always welcomed her back with a hug. The individual approach makes all the difference, whether it be choosing her own breakfast from the cook, going to the hairdresser, or being able to offer a cup of coffee to a visitor. More recently she has become a full-time resident and has been cared for exceptionally well, still with that individual approach to her needs. We didn't think Mum would see Christmas but she had a lovely day with staff and other service users and everyone had a present under the tree. She is now receiving the best care we could hope for and it is reassuring to know she is so well cared for. All the staff give the impression of dedication to providing the support my mum needs.
Today is the first anniversary of my mum’s passing. She was a resident of Robertsons for exactly one year from March 2022 to March 2023. As she needed nursing we had no alternative but to place her in a care home. However, from day 1 I know we made the right decision in choosing Robertsons for her. The staff were amazing and it truly was a home from home. At all times she was treated with respect and dignity but more than that there was a mutual fondness between Mum and all the staff. They made the last year of her long life as happy and comfortable as they could and our family were very grateful for that. The support we received in her final days and immediately afterwards made a painful time much easier. The building may not be the most modern and up-to-date but the personal care is phenomenal. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff, too many to mention or single out because they were all superstars.
There are truly not enough superlatives in the world to adequately describe the care that Robertson Nursing Home gave to my mum over the five years that she lived there. The quality of their provision, from the moment that she first arrived, to the time that she died just recently, was exceptional. The support that the staff gave to her was wonderful, and they showed the utmost respect, kindness, gentleness and good humour when looking after her. The staff knew my mum down to a T and used the highest level of skill to get the very best out of her at all times. Robertson's staff were also supportive of our wider family and were never too busy to reassure, advise and explain things to us. The end of her life care was beautifully managed too, thank you for this to the manager and the whole team. I know that Mum felt as if she was a special member of the Robertson "family" and there is surely no better recommendation for a care home than this.
The care and attention my mum received throughout her four years or so at Robertson's was incredible. The staff are fantastic, the care second to none. I would recommend Robertson's to everyone considering permanent care residence.
We visited my mum in Robertson Nursing Home on a very frequent basis for nearly seven years, and from the start, we were always warmly welcomed as important members of the wider Robertson family. From being quite miserable in her new surroundings in December 2016, Mum was soon very happy in what she came to love as 'her home' and became extremely fond of staff members - whether nursing, caring, admin or support. We have been impressed by the determination of each person to 'go the extra mile'. Whilst the attitude of the staff is most important, the recent 'smartening up' makeover throughout the home has made such a difference. Mum's 100th birthday at the end of November was celebrated in style, which we will remember so fondly. When Mum died exactly two weeks later, my family could not have asked for more kindness and support from the staff at such an emotional time. We cannot praise Robertson highly enough and we would commend anyone to entrust a loved one to their wonderful care.
I visited Robertson Nursing Home on Wednesday to catch up with the staff who looked after my mother and me during her time in their care. I arrived to find a musical event in the conservatory and was immediately invited to join in and have tea and cake. This is always the welcome I receive when I visit Robertson. During the past few months, a redecoration and update to the home have made a huge impact. As well as the permanent welcome from whoever opens the front door, a really bright, light and happy atmosphere pervades the home. I regularly call to see the staff and chat with the residents I have come to know during my visits. The many small kindnesses and personal attention each carer gives, without show or fuss, speaks volumes for the way the home operates. Robertson is a family to its residents and visitors and is a pleasure to visit. Thank you Robertson staff.
My mother (103 years and counting) came to Robertson Nursing Home on 20th July 2023 from her own home in East Sussex where she had 24/7 live-in care provided by a local care agency. So far, we couldn't be more happy with the care that Robertson has provided. We are now able to visit at will and have no issues to cause concern. Thank you to the manager and all the staff at Robertson.
Whilst my mother was with you for a very short time, we could not have wished for her to have been cared for better. We are very grateful to all of the staff and the nurses in particular were kind and caring. Thank you Robertsons.
My dad moved to Robertson Nursing Home from his previous care home in Wiltshire in June 2023 to be closer to me. From my first visit to view this home, I knew that Robertson's was the place for my dad. The warmth and care that was shown towards meeting my dad's needs was clear. Once Dad moved in, he settled very quickly. Every time I go, Dad is sitting in the communal areas or gardens enjoying the many activities and entertainment on offer. Great care has been shown to stimulate him and care for him and I can see that this is the case for all the residents there. All the staff show great kindness, not only to Dad but to the family when we visit. The staff give time to everyone. Dad is thriving at Robertson's. He looks so well following his move, he is eating delicious meals, going out for visits on minibus and is now even walking using his frame - something he has not done for a long time. Robertson's feels like a family home and I would strongly recommend it to anyone.
My sister has been at Robertson Nursing Home for four years after a lengthy stay in hospital and during that time, she has received the best care we could hope for. The staff are absolutely wonderful, they know her well and she considers them to be great friends. It is as near to a proper home environment that one could wish for and I always feel so welcome when visiting. Also, friends whom I have taken to visit her feel the same and often comment on how they wish they had such a great nursing home for their relatives. It is well-run and the staff are accommodating if one has any queries and always get back to me with answers. I cannot thank the staff there enough, they are not known as the 'A team' without full justification. I would recommend Robertson to anyone who is in need of residential care! Our mother also spent her latter days here back in early 2000s. I thank them unreservedly!
My mother had lived well for seven years with dementia, in an extension attached to our house. The time came, after two infections, that she needed more than domiciliary care and family support could provide. I looked at four nursing homes, Robertson was the best fit for her. It had a lovely garden (she was a keen gardener) and the staff were kind, polite and went out of their way to welcome myself and her. Mum enjoyed her food, she rated it as ‘pretty good’, which was high praise from her. Sadly, she passed away in May so was only there for four months. The communication between staff and myself was excellent and I felt well supported throughout. I highly recommend.
I've added my review of Robertson Nursing Home due to the superb quality of care my parents have received during a difficult month. Both of my parents moved in over the first two months of 2022. My father had been in hospital for an extended period and, at one time, not expected to live long. He recovered enough to leave and luckily I discovered Robertson, having viewed a number of other care homes in the area. I chose Robertson because there was a distinct difference here in care staff, along with a comfortable feeling of homeliness. Soon, my ailing mother joined him, having been lonely without Dad, and they were placed in a larger room together. Although difficult times followed, with the failing health of Mum, in my view the staff were nothing short of fantastic in looking after the both of them. Mum passed away recently and again everything was dealt with in the most compassionate and professional way. Following her death, my father was given kind and considerate care, which has continued.
