View Full Details of Whitegates Nursing HomeMy dad was a resident at Whitegates for 13 months and he was very well looked after by all staff. Dad was bed-bound after having COVID-19 he also had dementia we were told we had no option but to find a nursing home. We were very reluctant at first but we cannot give enough praise for the care our Dad received from Whitegates not only looking after our Dad but making sure as a family we were ok. All the staff including the carers, chef, domestic staff and activities ladies played a big part in making our Dad feel safe and happy and we can never thank them enough.
My mum has settled in extremely well since her stroke. She seems comfortable and confident. The staff are all, as far as I can see, amazing. They have a bit of banter with her which she loves. They seem very conscientious with her in all aspects of her needs. She enjoys the activities and even tries things she has never done before. I love that they celebrate every possible event with a little party. The food is good, mainly what Mum enjoys. She needs help feeding, which the carers do as she needs persuading to eat and her appetite has improved recently. She has a lovely room now we are paying in full, it's perfect for her needs. It's always clean and tidy. When I visit Mum I watch the carers/nurses, they have so much patience and understanding of the residents even though sometimes it must be difficult for them. All in all, I'm glad we chose Whitegates, it gives us peace of mind that she is looked after.
Whitegates Nursing Home is a lovely caring and professionally run home and my mum's room has a wonderful outlook onto a gorgeous garden. The rooms are of a good standard and kept clean and tidy and there are regular activities organised for the residents. The staff are exceptional. They are always friendly, caring and happy to help. I am so happy that Mum is a resident here.
My 90 year old dad has dementia and until recently was living home alone an hour’s drive away from where I live. As a family, we tried to keep him at home for as long as possible but eventually he had a bad fall and ended up in hospital in a bad way. It was too dangerous for him to live alone anymore and we chose to entrust his care to Whitegates Nursing Home. I can honestly say that my worries are now over. Dad is receiving the best of care in a safe, caring and family friendly environment. The staff are lovely and I have complete peace of mind that they will be treating dad with complete professionalism and compassion. Dad has had some health hiccups and I have been kept informed at all times. Whitegates has an open door policy which I especially like. I can visit whenever I want for however long I like. The manager is readily available to discuss Dad/find out information which I find invaluable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Whitegates to take care of a loved one.
My mother towards the end of her life became bedbound. The staff at Whitegates dealt with her care needs with compassion, patience and professionalism. It was a relief to me to know that she was in safe hands. When the time came for her to be placed on the end-of-life pathway the nursing staff were professional, kind and helpful. I knew I could trust them and the carers to make my mum's last days as comfortable and peaceful as possible. I am so glad that she was able to stay in Whitegates where she was known and cared about and did not have to go to hospital. It is a testament to the good management of Whitegates that the whole establishment is well-run and has a happy and friendly atmosphere. It was a sad time for myself and my family but made so much easier by the kindness and professionalism of all the staff; nurses, carers, reception, cleaners, maintenance, laundry, cooks and the management team. I am grateful to all of them.
All the staff do their very best to help and take time to listen to any concerns and resolve any issues, despite how busy they are as they are understaffed and obviously under pressure. I know this is a problem across the whole country. As a result, the priority is their physical needs and the more active residents are bored.
White Gates delivers exceptional care together with genuine kindness in a homely environment. My father has Alzheimer's and is immobile, he is very comfortable, safe and happy living at White Gates. There is always a warm welcome to visiting family and it's a real pleasure to see him smiling, talkative and content. The nurses are excellent and together with the management they keep me well informed about my father's wellbeing. Personal care has always been important to him, the carers here are extremely attentive to his needs and my father is always clean, shaved and well dressed. The housekeeping and laundry team do a brilliant job ensuring the facility is clean and fresh. I greatly appreciate the kindness of the staff who are always pleasant and helpful and my father is very happy with his new extended family.
A particularly pleasant location. White Gates has been "home" for several months now. Since she's been there, Mum appears clean, tidy and happy. She enjoys time spent either in the lounge area or in the garden/patio area. The staff are incredibly supportive and friendly and always interact with us during our visits. Mum eats better now than ever before and always enjoys a joke with the staff on duty. Mum has now found a home from home, which is a relief for us that she's happy and content.
My mother was accepted at White Gates Nursing Home for respite following her discharge from the hospital after breaking her hip and having vascular dementia. She has been there for 3-weeks for respite, and I can only say the staff and management have been so outstanding in their care, respect and support to my mother and myself as her son. A wonderful Jubilee party was organised for the residents and their families. This event brought all the people together to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The catering staff were excellent too, and it really showed the dedicated level of genuine care and kindness I experienced towards the residents and their families. Genuinely uplifting. Thank you.
Wonderful staff, friendly, caring and helpful. Dad has been looked after so well throughout lockdown and they have made sure that we have been kept up to date with FaceTime calls and regular updates. One carer, in particular, is absolutely wonderful. Knowing that she is there, puts all our minds at rest. Dad responds so well to her, he looks forward to seeing her and she makes sure he has big smiles. The activities that the staff put on are great, including raising the ducklings, which was wonderful. Having a relative in care is tough, but having Dad at White Gates makes it much easier. Thank you to all of you.
My dad has been a resident of White Gates for approximately two years. In all that time, he has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect by amazing, caring people. They are like family when we can’t be with him and the love goes both ways with my dad and the wonderful staff. Obviously, Covid has been an extremely scary time and we have been separated from our loved ones for prolonged periods, but the total love and care that we know they received is so reassuring, they have been kept safe, happy and their physical and just as importantly, mental well being, is always at the forefront of everybody’s mind. If my dad can’t be at home then I really couldn’t think of a better place for him to live. There will never be enough words of gratitude, thank you.
White Gates is a haven for my mum. Mum has Dementia and over the last few years, has worried and stressed about almost everything. Last December, when Mum's needs became greater, she moved into White Gates. Lockdown meant that we couldn't help Mum with the transition and as a family, this was a very worrying time for us. We were so grateful and delighted that all the staff took the time to get to know Mum and settle her in her surroundings, making her room her own. The events manager ensured we had regular facetime calls with Mum, where we could see straight away, that she looked happy and relaxed. Over the past few months, you can see the stress has disappeared from Mum's face and she looks so well. Handing over the daily well-being of our lovely Mum was huge for us, but the staff always keep us informed and up-to-date on Mum's wellbeing. They look after her with care, love and affection. I would highly recommend White Gates for absolute peace of mind, it's an extended family.
Despite the restrictions of lockdown, the staff have been enterprising and creative in helping my father adjust to an unfamiliar environment. This helped him find his place. His room became his office and appropriate tasks were found for him. The staff are friendly. I would like to give thanks to the night staff team. The nurses are really good, they will always talk to the relatives. The manager is approachable and gives good direction to her team. Thank you.
A well-run and professionally organised care home providing high levels of resident care. The home has been and continues to operate respecting social distancing, full PPE requirement policy for all visitors plus a strict time schedule to minimise contact within reception areas. My mother has and continues to be well cared for with her needs met by the courteous, caring staff. A very pleasant surrounding for residents and visitors.
Mum became a resident of White Gates in early December 2020. She had previously been in assisted living accommodation but, although the staff there were marvellous also, she needed increased care due to dementia. Since moving to White Gates, Mum is more engaged, she looks well, safe and cared for. Our constant worries about her have been lifted from our shoulders knowing that she is in a place that understands and caters for her needs. The staff are incredible and have kept in touch with us at all times via text both about Mum herself and in regard to updates for the home generally. They help Mum to Facetime us whenever possible, which is a fabulous advantage whilst we are in lockdown. We were especially grateful to visit Mum over the Christmas period and reassured by the safety measures taken by White Gates. It's early days and we hope Mum will continue to settle in but we cannot thank White Gates enough for all they have accomplished with her. Highly recommended!
My husband has been living in the White Gates Nursing Home for 18-months, and the care that he receives is second to none. The carers are amazing, they are so friendly and really care for all the residents, and there is always a lively happy atmosphere. They have really good entertainment, which the residents look forward to. The home, itself, is always kept so clean. My husband's room is kept to a good clean standard. The chef is extremely good, and the food is very varied. I cannot fault any part of the care that my husband receives from White Gates.
They looked after my mum unit she passed away on the 13th of July. They kept us informed all the time and showed her care and compassion all the way to the end. The showed her dignity as well.
My mother has been shown an extremely high level of care and compassion from all the staff at White Gates Nursing Home, Laleham. They are a very professional team led by the manager, nothing is too much effort for them. My mother was extremely poorly when she went into White Gates Nursing Home, they have nursed and cared for her, and she is improving and growing stronger every day. They inform me of Mum's progress when I ring in. I would 100% recommend White Gates Nursing Home for elderly and dementia residents.
White Gates Laleham has been a fantastic care home for my mum to spend the last few months of her life. The team were extremely professional firstly, and secondly, friendly to the point of providing a home from home for Mum and all visitors. They not only took care of the residents to an exemplary standard, but the family and friends became part of the big family of White Gates. The human side of this care home I could only rate at 100%. We still pop in from time to time as the staff there became our friends over just a few short months. From the care point of view, I spent many hours there every week and never found them to be wanting. My mum got to love the staff, even under difficult personal circumstances for her and she said 'Thank You' about 100 times a day as the staff were on top of every situation. I can't say any higher praise for the team, which are well managed and from the top right the way through to the resident. In a very difficult industry, this team has got it right.
I am a friend of a resident who has recently died. She lived at White Gates for several years and during all that time, I visited her on a regular basis. On each occasion, her room was spotlessly clean and so was she. She was very comfortable and contented. During the last stage of her life when she was confined to her bed and unable to move herself, she always looked so comfortable and cared for and was at peace.
