View Full Details of Clifden House Dementia Care CentreUnfailingly helpful and friendly staff Always very professional in managing the challenging situations that inevitably arise. Good atmosphere all round . Feel very comfortable having my father as a resident
My uncle has been in Clifden House for 2 years. He settled in very quickly and is now in a routine that works for him. The team have catered for his needs brilliantly and we feel that his care package has been tailored for him. I have asked him if he ever feels afraid and he replied that he didn't feel scared because he knew he was being well looked after. We take him out sometimes and although he likes it, he is always happy to return 'home' to Clifden House. Dementia is a horrible condition, and I imagine very terrifying, but my uncle seems to be settled and peaceful there. My late mother was also a resident at Clifden House, and I would say that she felt the same sense of home as my uncle. The staff are so caring and friendly, not just to residents, but also to their family. It's a hard decision to put a loved one into care, but our experience has been great, both my uncle and mum felt contented, and the family felt included and welcomed whenever we came to visit.
My mum had been with the home for over 4 years. The support and kindness shown by staff is incredible. It's such a difficult job for carers and the support team to do and they do it with smiles on their faces. I have nothing but respect for all the team.
My Mother spent one week respite here and I did not know it was possible for someone to lose that much weight in one week. I will regret my decision to leave her here forever. The care plan provided was inaccurate and this visit has hastened her decline.
This is our dad's second year being cared for by Clifden House Dementia Care Centre. We cannot fault the staff and management and we will be eternally forever grateful. The constant care, patience and total dedication from all the staff at Clifden House is incredible. Our dad is so well loved by the staff its beautiful to see his little face light up when they laugh and talk with him. These staff make our visits enjoyable and when we leave we have so much respect and love for them. Our trust in them is everything. Thank you ALL from our family.
My wife has settled in well since she entered the home in January. She seems to get on with the staff who seem to like her. All staff I have come in contact with are brilliant, despite some of the things they have to experience. What's more, I am offered tea, coffee or cake when I arrive! It would help if from time to time I could have an update on my wife's behaviour, eating and sleeping, etc. Many thanks for all your good work.
My husband has been a resident for two years due to him suffering from Alzheimer’s. This is a most cruel disease and I find the home caring and compassionate with him. The staff are all very friendly and do what they can for him. They have activities and entertainers to entertain the residents and a lovely garden for when the nice weather is here. They always make me and my family feel welcome when we visit.
My mother has been cared for by Clifden House for over four years. I cannot fault the staff and management. I know for sure my mother would not be here today without their profound patience and ongoing love, care and total dedication from all the staff at Clifden House. Thank you Clifden House.
Our relative is very settled and appears happy at Clifden House. Their bedroom décor is a little outdated and furniture could do with replacement, as some parts are damaged. Communication could be better. Overall, family are pleased with the service our parent receives.
I removed my dear sister from her previous care home for several reasons on realising she wasn't being cared for. On first visiting Clifden House I could see how welcoming and friendly the staff were, the smiles, the atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. I wish I'd have moved her to Clifden House a long time ago! She now walks again, loves to dance with the staff, loves the entertainment and the interaction and certainly enjoys her meals. I visit every week and find her at peace, always presentable having clean clothes daily which certainly didn't happen at her previous care home! I truly can't thank the staff enough I don't know what I'd do without them or Clifden House and I thank them from the bottom of my heart knowing she's happy and cared for.
This was the 3rd time that Mum had been to Clifden House for respite care. She was welcomed literally with open arms and a hug which made Mum feel so welcome! Mum is 95 and has dementia but she had a lovely smile on her face with this welcome. All the staff are so lovely, somehow always having a smile on their face. They left us to settle Mum in, but then came and took over allowing us to go feeling very confident that Mum would be well looked after. We came to collect her after a week away, and she wasn't sure she wanted to go home! I would recommend Clifden House to anyone!
Staff are always friendly, caring and happy to help in any way they can. Residents are well-presented and regular entertainment is provided. I would have no hesitation recommending Clifton House to others.
My mother has been a resident at Clifden House for 5 years. I visit at least every 2 weeks and now take Holy Communion to 2 other residents as well as mum. The staff are very caring, helpful and kind. The home is always clean and tidy. The residents seem happy and contented considering that they are in varying stages of dementia.
My friend who has now been a resident at Clifden House for over three years, could not be in a safer or better place. All of the staff are just so caring and aware of my friends needs, her room is spacious and light. The food is good, varied and always available. Also they are very welcoming towards her dog who still visits regularly.
Dad seems very settled and generally happy at Clifden and we often see him treated with kindness and dignity by the staff. We may be unusual in that we are keen to understand how he is when we don’t see him and would like more of an update on a more frequent basis. The home is good at exceptions such as notifying us of falls Etc however. As far as peripherals are concerned, the occasional maintenance/other issue has had to be raised a few times but does get resolved eventually.
Every week I visit Clifden House where all the staff are so welcoming. I have personally noticed a huge difference in my nan since we moved her to Clifden House in December. She no longer asks when she is going home, and is less tearful, in fact, I don't think I have seen her cry since being with you, she seems very happy and never mentions how she is going to escape. Just how nice her new flat is! You should be really proud of all the staff. One thing I really enjoy is seeing the social media posts so we see a glimpse of the activities you carry out.
My relationship with my sister has been reactivated after forty years of virtual non-communication. As her next of kin, I have tried to visit occasionally with the prime aim of 'someone showing interest' and triggering memories of growing up in Chester. I have found the staff welcoming and remarkably patient - not an easy job with the demented. I have no complaints about the care she is receiving or the house's keeping in touch.
Dementia is a cruel disease and robbed my father-in-law of the last few years of his life. Clifden House Dementia Care Centre was such a blessing, they always treated my father-in-law with kindness and dignity. He was missing social interaction and could no longer care for himself, Clifden House offered a safe and caring environment with lots of wonderful staff to talk to him, taking care of him in what always felt like a family environment when we sadly were unable to meet his needs. The staff were always friendly, professional and in the crucial last days of his life supportive towards us. Thank you.
My husband went to Clifden House Dementia Care Centre for a week's respite in June and he is there again this week. When we visited the home I was struck by how cheerful and welcoming the staff were. The residents seemed happy. The member of staff who showed us around was able to answer/allay all of my questions and concerns. This has been a heartbreaking decision for me but made much easier by the sympathetic support of the staff and, most importantly for me, the confidence I feel that my husband will be treated with kindness.
My father has been a resident in Clifden House Dementia Care Centre for several months. He was upset and very confused when he arrived and anxious about leaving his home. His transformation is remarkable. He is happy, chatty, smiling and blooming. His physical health has improved and he is significantly less confused. He arrived somewhat dishevelled and unkempt and now looks smart and well cared for, always wearing fresh clothes and looking clean and ready for the day. The staff are incredibly kind and caring, nothing is too much trouble. His wishes, independence and dignity are always honoured. I would recommend Clifden House to anyone!
