View Full Details of Elstree Court Care HomeMum loves living at Elstree Court and she calls it "home". All of the care team are friendly to family and give excellent care and attention to mum. Mum had a health issue during the month and was looked after here until an ambulance arrived, was asked after whilst she was in hospital, and was collected and nursed back at Elstree Court as soon as the hospital discharged her. She is doing so well just for being back in her "home"
My brother is very happy here. All the staff take great care of him and give him a lot of attention. The activities are conducted Mondays to Fridays which is so good for my brother. The managers organise regular functions inviting family members with good quality entertainers. Visiting family members are made very welcome and coffee/tea is made available. Probably one of the best homes in Eastbourne.
My husband has been in Elstree Court for a month. He was previously in another nursing home and was very depressed. He had been in Elstree Court previously for respite since being in Elstree Court he has improved immensely he is happy, eating well and enjoying life again. I can only thank the wonderful staff who are kind, thoughtful and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
My wife suffered from vascular dementia, after staying 4 weeks in the hospital in Eastbourne, she was admitted to Elstree Courts as she required full-time nursing care. The management and the staff were amazing throughout in all respects. Unfortunately, she passed away on the 24th of June 2024. If there is such a place to die in peace Elstree Court was certainly that for my wife and the family.
The Assistant Manager gave our family 100% support when our brother was admitted to Elstree Court Eastbourne. She is such a kind person who always greets people with a lovely smile! We did have a small problem but she was very professional in sorting the problem out, we wish there were even more people like her in this world! Also, our family are very pleased with the staff at Elstree all so very kind. Sadly we were told our brother couldn't stay as they had a couple of instances that were out of his control.
Thank you all for looking after Mum after her discharge from hospital. She has settled in very well and is very happy here. She is pleased with the attention given by all the staff and enjoys the food and is eating very well. All of the family are very happy with the care received.
Amazing home everyone that works here is so lovely and caring to everyone. My mum is as happy as she can be.
My whole experience with Elstree Court has been absolute satisfactory. The whole staff team at this nursing home have helped my dad settle in and also stabilize him to the point I can now take him out. Can't thank this nursing home enough.
My mother has been in this care home for over a year now. The staff are excellent and treat her with great kindness and respect. The food is very good which my mother enjoys. The home is very tidy and clean. There are activities going on every day and the home organises events throughout the year for residents and relatives. Visitors are always welcome and often offered tea and biscuits. It is a great relief that my mum is being well cared for.
I have been here now for four years and feel very much at home. The staff are always helpful and pleasant and I got on very well with them. I feel quite free to express my opinions in a responsible way and enjoy being part and parcel of being in the garden room.
Not only did the staff at Elstree take excellent care of my husband during the short time my husband was a resident, your staff took so much care of me, always ready to give a comforting word, words cannot express my heartfelt thanks.
My husband was referred to the home following many months of poor health. I was initially concerned that he would further deteriorate. However, he has blossomed. He has always been a reserved person but now contributes to daily activities, chats with the residents and has regained his smile. I feel very comfortable that the home provides all his needs. All staff I have met are friendly and approachable.
I brought my husband to Elstree Court Care Home on the recommendation of a social worker from the hospital, the best thing I have ever done. I'm not happy that he's in this state but this is the best place for him. I find it very comforting here and so does the rest of the family. I looked at a lot of places and none of them have come close to this one. I'm very happy that this home is looking after my husband of 54 years.
The whole team are always so friendly and warm every time me and my family visit our sister. Nothing is ever too much trouble even though they are so busy! They all really seem to care about the residents. If we have a question about personal appointments a member of staff in admin/finance is always on hand and she is very friendly and understanding. The manager and deputy manager have been very proactive in supporting my sister with the best ways to care for her ever increasing medical issues.
My father was admitted to Elstree Court on 23rd June 2023 and from the first day of admission, Dad received exemplary care from every member of staff. The carers were always professional and extremely caring to Dad, even when his condition worsened and he became frustrated as he couldn't speak clearly. Nothing was too much trouble, from his care to even standing him frequently to avoid him getting sore. As he deteriorated and became unresponsive near the end, they provided superb care supported by a great team of registered nurses and managers.
My father was admitted to Elstree in September 2022 still with 'capacity' but mobility problems. He died 3 months later. He was in an attic room, with no working lift to access lower level floors where activities took place. He was bedbound. Had 2 falls and 2 hospital admissions in 2 months following falling out of bed/chair. He was isolated in the attic room with no passing people to stimulate a once interested, intelligent man. He cried when I left him on one of my visits to him which was just so sad to experience. He was unhappy with being hoisted by certain staff. He wasn't happy at all sadly. Despite lots of emails to the manager about this issue and that issue (there were many) he wasn't able to move to a more central room on the ground floor which is what the family who pre-visited were shown where they had hoped he would be encouraged to engage in activities and talk with other residents. They were so sad when they saw where he ended up. He literally went downhill from admission.
Such a lovely coronation party in the dining room. My wife and I were invited and made to feel so welcome. Great atmosphere, live music and lots of lovely food. Thank you. The staff worked really hard to make sure everyone joined in and enjoyed themselves.
We enjoyed being invited to the coronation tea party. We were made very welcome and had a happy time. Lovely coronation decorations, delicious food, live music and a happy atmosphere. Thank you for all your hard work.
My father moved into Elstree Court Care Home at the end of December. After a short review period, he was moved to a large ground floor room and began to be included with other residents into the garden lounge to join in the daily activities which he takes full part in and enjoys. He says the food is good and the carers are very good. On arrival, he was more or less bedbound and sleeping most of the day on palliative care. he is now helped to get up and dressed every day and has a new lease of life. His care has been excellent.
Very caring and attentive staff. Do anything for you. I had some family issues and as power of attorney had to protect my grandmother from family. The home were very empathetic to our needs, listened and acted appropriately. Lovely facilities, like home from home. "A credit to the local community"
