View Full Details of Glottenham ManorWe manage to visit Mum for 2 weeks every couple of months due to distance. Little communication between times ie: phone, lack of dexterity re: hands/hearing/sight. Mum usually appearing to be content with her lot despite being a loner. For a country lass, it is obviously hard to be in her sat in a chair situation. Staff appear welcoming/happy with several having been incumbent for many a year. Thank you.
Mum seems very happy and contented is well looked after and the staff are very polite and pleasant nothing is too much trouble.
My dad used Glottenham for a 2 week respite stay. He had no complaints, enjoyed the food, staff were friendly and treated him with care and dignity. I was asked about his daily routine to ensure he was comfortable. In short Glottenham will be the place he will go on his respite.
This is Mum's second nursing home, she is so much happier here. The meals are amazing, if not a little on the large size. All staff members I have met are extremely pleasant and polite, nothing is too much trouble for them. A doctor visits the home weekly which is nice. I asked Mum if she likes it here, she said, yes, they are looking after me very well...
My wife is very happy and content at the home. She gets on well with all of the carers. I have always found the staff very helpful and co-operative.
The home is very pleasant with very friendly staff running the home as well as caring for the residents. The food is all cooked there and is like home cooking. They have many functions to keep the residents happy.
I was well looked after during my short stay. I was both comfortable and warm. The cuisine was excellent, especially Friday's special of sausage and chips (yummy). I found all the staff both nurses and carers very friendly and good to chat with. The manager was also very friendly and helped me keep in contact with my wife who was a short-stay patient in a local hospital. The gentleman who looks after the maintenance also popped in for the odd chat during his tea breaks.
Terrible place. I would not recommend this home one bit. Most of the individual staff here are great, with a couple of exceptions, but the management is appalling. Complete lack of on-site management staff, a lack of any accountability and an incompetent area manager. A call bell system that didn’t work for 3 months and several safeguarding issues that had to be brought to the attention of the CQC and the local authority, both of which I believe still have open investigations for not only this site but the whole Brighthelm group. My elderly mother has been in this place for 2 years and it has rapidly gone downhill to the extent that we got an expedited move to another home based around safeguarding issues. If you have any other choice, take it. The owner should be ashamed of this shambles!
My wife has always received first class, caring attention and we have no cause to complain about anything. I would recommend Glottenham Manor to anyone needing such a service. It is no fault of the Home that visiting is not possible but know that "normal" visiting will resume as soon as possible.
Glottenham Manor has proved an excellent choice for a longstanding friend. She has settled in and is well cared for by staff who are always on hand to help and assist. The food is home-cooked and of good quality. This nursing home is well run, and I would definitely recommend their services in a beautiful country setting.
We are extremely pleased with the personal care our aunt receives. The staff are kind, friendly and approachable. We couldn't be happier. The premises are always clean with fresh flowers always on display, Events take place regularly.
There is no way of putting into words, the thanks I wish to pass onto Glottenham Manor staff for the genuine love and care they showed to my mother in the short time she was with them. There is no way of "faking" the bond they established over just a few months, not just with my mum, but with myself and all her visitors. Humour, patience and tenderness in abundance. I have nothing but admiration for the entire team from chef, to carers, office staff and the joyfully exuberant resident cat "Pickles" who stayed to the very end on my mum's bed. What more could you ask for at such a momentous "stage". It is a difficult, anxious time when a loved one has to leave your home to go into care and horror stories abound of wrong decisions and unhappiness. Now I know my mum was an "easy person" and not challenged by dementia and to her credit, she always did her very best to have a smile on her face, but I never doubted that Glottenham Manor was the very best place for her to see out her final days.
My brother was referred to Glottenham Manor. I am so pleased as I didn't think it could be better. the staff are always pleasant and support me, my brother is well cared for, food seems excellent and it always smells fresh. There is always a warm welcome for visitors too. Thank you.
We are very pleased with the nursing care that my father receives from the care home. The staff are always friendly and helpful and look after my father extremely well. Dad's room is well equipped and pleasant for him and is always kept very clean, neat and tidy, as is the rest of the home. Thank you.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the care they give my Mum. Mum says she feels safe, secure, happy and loved by the staff, I'm confident that she is being well cared for when I'm not visiting, my Mum enjoys the activities and entertainment. I feel so blessed that my Mum has found such a lovely place to call home.
Although my husband was only in Glottenham for two months, during that time the care and compassion he received was second to none. The manager and staff were always welcoming and the home was warm and clean. I would recommend Glottenham one hundred per cent.
My father had a very nice room which was always well maintained, clean and tidy. His medical and emotional needs were always taken care of in a professional, caring way. He was treated with dignity and respect at all times and we were welcomed warmly whenever we visited. When my father was admitted to the home in January 2017 he was in a poor state but with their care and attention, his health improved significantly. He was looked after well until he passed away on Sunday, October 14th.
As soon as Mum met the manager she felt human (after a previous bad experience in another home), she was treated with dignity and respect. When she arrived at Glottenham it was everything that was promised. It was warm and welcoming, the staff were happy and very empathetic. She was made to feel that her needs mattered. This attitude shone through all the time she was a resident, even the cat was friendly. As a family, we were so sorry that Mum left to go home because in the hands of the home care system she is badly let down. It's only a matter of time before Mum, at 89 years, is back into a care home. We all hope it's going to be Glottenham.
The manageress and her amazing team of staff nurses, care assistants, cleaners, cooks and the handyman all made my mother's stay a great experience, returning her smile after her previous poor experience in a nursing home. Nothing is too much and everyone goes out of their way to ensure their dignity and quality of life is as good as it can be. The best words to describe the team at Glottenham Manor are: warm, welcoming, friendly, kind, caring and professional and they should all be very proud of the wonderful treatment they give. Thank you.
Our father has been in three other homes and now we are so happy with the care. He is showered, nails clean, just always looks fresh. He is bed-ridden, but they get him up to be with other residents. The staff are very caring. Good food which our father always eats. We have no complaints about his care at all. Just a lovely home.
