We believe the one-to-one care here is amazing. The staff are exceptional towards the patients, they are very comforting towards us as a family.
My brother moved in for palliative care after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. All the staff were very kind and sympathetic. They treated me kindly when I visited and when they phoned me with updates etc. When he passed away they all helped me deal with my loss.
Since day one I have been very impressed with all the staff. They treat my father with care and dignity, seeing to all his needs, giving me peace of mind for his health and safety as I am not local to the area and try to visit weekly. During my unannounced visits I have witnessed on many occasions how the carers and nursing staff deal with awkward and difficult situations with other residents, their care, compassion and commitment are second to none, observation is a powerful tool. His room is very comfortable along with the never-ending food and drink which always looks good and fresh. As previously stated I am not local to the area so communication about my father's health and well-being is a must, I have been called several times when there have been blips in his health, which is very reassuring they are looking after him as I would. A big, big thank you to all at Manor Hall.
Welcoming, pleasant surroundings. Lovely staff, who are kind and caring. Clean, well-decorated rooms. Good food provided with plenty of tea/coffee. Soft drinks provided also. Care for residents very good. Regular updates provided. Highly recommended!
There is such a lovely friendly feel the moment we walked into the home. From the moment we walked into the home, from the ladies on reception through to the manager. The staff are so patient and caring with the residents, and good with us (the family of one of the residents). There is no place better for my dad, and we are so grateful to this care home. I recommend this place to anyone who is in need of a good care home.
The staff provide high quality care with kindness and respect. They make the time to really get to know the residents and families and give support. The food is excellent and a lot of care and thought goes into the activities programme. Amazing hardworking and excellent managers and staff.
Very good and I shall miss you all.
My wife has been a resident for several weeks. The staff are simply outstanding in their interactions with residents. The management is attentive to the details of the operations and ensures that the finer points are exactly what is needed.
Wow, what a wonderful place. The staff were wonderful, caring and engaged with the residents. The food was great. Our father never looked so well as he did there. The deputy manager was lovely and all the other staff were so welcoming. They even arranged for him to go to church on Sunday, even though he was only placed there for a short time. Fantastic!
I am satisfied with the care my mother receives. Staff are caring and respectful. There is a happy atmosphere in the building.
My husband is very happy at Manor Hall. He is well cared for, and I am informed of any changes happening. He enjoys the activities and mixing with other residents in the lounge and also enjoys going on outings. He has a choice of food which is chopped/mashed for him as is required, and he really likes it. His room is clean.
My wife says she is treated well by management and staff.
My Dad is at Manor Hall and it's a lovely care home. We looked around a few homes in the area and felt that the atmosphere and set-up at the home was warm, comfortable and homely. The Staff are kind and helpful and the managers are always around to help. The care is great and my Dad gets everything he needs. It makes a difference to us that we feel comfortable leaving him after visits and don't have to worry that he's being cared for. We were able to personalise his room and take things in that were important for him to keep and see. The food is good and we can stay for lunch if we want or just have a cup of tea with him. We found it difficult at first, the thought of putting a loved one into care, but feel more relaxed and happy because he is happy. We wanted the personal touch and we got that. I would recommend Manor Hall because it ticks all the boxes and the location, in Old Town near Gildredge Park, is beautiful. Lovely lounge with activities always going on.
Very nice home and very nice staff. My Mother is a permanent resident and has been for some time. The manager is very helpful and approachable and really cares if people are happy. I chose the home because it puts the person first and genuinely cares. I looked at lots of homes and when I went to Manor Hall it just seemed to fit like a glove for my Mum. There's a lot to do and the staff managed to get Mum out of her room and into the lounge for activities and to socialise, something which she'd previously given up on a bit. Food is great and there's a good variety. Also, there are trips out on the minibus and you can visit and call as often as you like. There were some difficult times during the Covid pandemic but we coped and it's nice to see the home returning to normal rather than "fighting fires" which everyone seemed to be doing during the pandemic. I see there are a couple of low reviews over the Covid period, very unfair, and certainly not my experience.
This is a lovely home! My friend has been at the home for some time now. The staff are excellent and the care is first-class. They are very nice and very helpful, there's always someone about to answer questions and I particularly like the member of staff who comes around with the tea trolley with snacks and biscuits for both of us. Lovely, joyful smile! The home has a big lounge and activities are regular, it's clean, tidy and fresh smelling. There is a varied menu and the food is delicious, visitors can stay for meals but there is a small charge, worth it though. I can't recommend it highly enough, might move in myself when the time comes.
My mother went to Manor Hall Care Home for respite care from hospital and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and there was a good choice on the menu. Most of all, the care was first-class. I enjoyed visits as there was always a friendly smile and a cup of tea. It's nice to go to a home where you feel at home and it looks like a home, rather than in hospital or a hotel.
The food was appalling, her room was no more than a broom cupboard with cheap lino. We could not move her due to Covid, otherwise, we would have done so. Whilst in the home's 'care' she managed to get hold of scissors and started to cut her hair and mattress, the finger was pointed at us. Even after her death there we are still getting invoices for incontinence pants, despite us paying them £1200 a week. They had our contact details but the posthumous invoices were addressed to c/o, my mother. When we came to get her belongings there were no condolences or empathy. She may have been no more than a difficult woman to them but that was our mum.
I am amazed that five days after my mother passed away nobody from the home has had the courtesy to advise me of her death, I was only advised by her carer. Totally unprofessional way to behave at such a sad time. I will be contacting the health authority.
My husband has been a resident in this home with Parkinson's for 8 months. Lots of patience has been needed to look after him as he's very independent. They have exceeded all expectations.
I didn't know it was possible to find a care home of such high standards. All the staff, management, kitchen and reception are wonderful, loving, caring people. Not only do they care for your loved one, they care about the carers. After only two weeks I felt a great strain had been taken of me. I know my wife is in safe hands. Thank you all so much.
