View Full Details of Adelaide Nursing HomeMy father was admitted to the Adelaide with a stage 4 brain tumour. His love from our home to the care home was perfectly managed; with care, consideration for his feelings and the least amount of stress. The Adelaide may not be as shiny and new as purpose-built homes, but we couldn't have asked for a better team or level of care for my dad. He was made to feel instantly at ease by the staff and it was like a home from home for him. The team listened to him, were patient & flexible with him and adapted to meet his complex needs. We would highly recommend the Adelaide, they made my dads last few months as comfortable as could be so that we could spend valuable time together as a family.
I have power of attorney for my friend who has dementia, we have moved him from another nursing home as we weren't happy with the way he has been looked after. He has only been in Adelaide since Jan 15th, his weight has increased and he looks so much happier. The staff here are amazing he is always up and dressed looking clean and sitting in the lounge. Whereas in another home he was in bed all the time. He was losing weight every week! When you enter Adelaide it feels so homely and relaxed and all the staff we have met are very caring when there is a problem they phone us and it's nice when you arrive to be asked if would you like a drink. Fantastic home for your loved ones to care for happy friends.
My godmother spent her last six weeks in this lovely home which has a warm and welcoming feel, it is clean and bright and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, she was made comfortable and treated with dignity and I cannot thank them enough for the high-quality care and kindness shown right to the end of her life.
My mother was admitted for end-of-life care four months ago. Her needs became more acute towards the end but she was always treated with professional and sympathetic care. Her basic requirements of cleanliness and nutrition were met thoroughly. The staff were attentive, friendly and understanding with exceptional care from the senior nurses and manager which extended to their support with the family.
My dad's last few weeks were spent in this nursing home and he was very well looked after and cared for. The staff were friendly and kind and treated him with dignity at all times. We were always made to feel welcome and it was a clean and homely environment. He had a bright room with enough space to store his items. He was well-fed and frequently offered tea and biscuits throughout the day. He didn't get involved in the activities but there were lots on offer if he had wanted to. We are very grateful to the staff for making the last few weeks easier for us and they have continued to be helpful after. Thank you, we would highly recommend this nursing home.
My mother has been a resident for 12 years. Adelaide has gone above and beyond in the care, consideration and compassion shown to her and her family. The staff are caring, kind and respectful at all times. Thank you.
I could not have picked a more caring and compassionate home for my Mum. Every member of staff had a smile on their face and spoke to me every time I visited. Mum's care was of the highest quality and she was treated with dignity at all times. The home was clean, bright and airy and there were always activities on offer for Mum to take part in.
A warm welcoming atmosphere was evident when we viewed the home for the first time. All staff greeted us when we looked round. Residents were always treated well with care and respect. When visiting refreshments always offered with a friendly smile. The staff in the office are helpful and will answer any queries. A nursing home we would definitely recommend.
My partner was treated with great respect on his last days. His end-of-life care was done with great care to him and to myself. Without exception the staff were kind and caring and the manager must be complimented on leading an exceptional team.
Good end-of-life service. Caring staff.
Adelaide is a fantastic care home. My mum and I couldn't have hoped for a better environment for her to spend her last few weeks in. The lovely staff provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere while being highly attentive and attuned to residents' needs. We were both kept informed about her medical condition at all times and any changes clearly communicated to us. It has a human and homely feel and is not cold or clinical despite the level of nursing care it provides. Mum had a vegan diet and they made every effort to cater for her, she was very happy with the thoughtful way they approached meals for her. Mum really appreciated the opportunity to listen to live music, do sitting exercise classes, arts and crafts, have local children visit, and group lunches and tea parties that me and my daughter were also invited to. Most of all she loved how the staff always made time to talk to her and how happy they were to chat, it was this that really made a huge difference to her quality of life.
My husband was looked after with care and kindness during his final year and visitors always welcome.
We can't fault the care our mother received. She was treated with respect and love by everyone who came in contact with her. The one-to-one care, encouraging Mum to eat and spending time with her was exceptional. The care involved with Mum's diet, i.e. making custard with cream to help Mum put on weight. Personal hygiene, Mum was regularly changed and kept clean and comfortable. The encouragement she received to be involved with the activities when able. It was all the little things which added up to make Mum's stay a happy one. Thank you.
Adelaide is a very well-run care home. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and all the staff whom we have got to know over the last two years are warm, friendly and welcoming. Residents who are able can enjoy activities or opt out if they so wish. Cleanliness is good as is the food. Overall the family are happy with the care being provided at Adelaide.
My wife was in your care for only five weeks before she passed away. In the short time, I felt she was treated very well by cheerful, competent and caring staff. Similarly this experience by myself and sons, also her sister who were regular visitors was excellent. Your staff were welcoming, cheerful and sympathetic and they were giving freely of their time and happy to give comfort to both family and visitors. Well done to all, from cooks, domestic carers, nursing and the management team.
The care that my grandad received in the last weeks of his life was brilliant. Each staff member was polite, kind and caring from nurses, cleaners and assistants. The small things mattered, like offering the family tea and arranging washes in-between visits. Thank you all so much for your hard work, making a hard time a little easier.
My stepdad spent a few weeks at the Adelaide Nursing Home. When he was admitted, we were aware he was terminally ill and sadly his decline was very rapid. While he was at the home, the staff treated him with the utmost care, respect and dignity and for that we will be forever grateful. My stepdad felt safe at all times and nothing was ever too much trouble. We as a family, were made to feel welcome and any concerns we had were always discussed and we were reassured. We could visit at any time and in his last few days we were allowed to stay overnight and all the staff were so compassionate and made sure we were looked after and cared for too. After his death, we were given time and they allowed us to come back to clear the room when we felt ready. I can not recommend the home enough. From the nursing team to the cleaners to the chefs, they are all amazing!
My father was in Adelaide Nursing Home for only two weeks. In that time we were made to feel welcome and my father was shown nothing but care and compassion. All the staff always greeted us with a smile when we came in and we were regularly updated on his health pr questions answered if we had any. They regularly had activities for the residents of they wanted to join in. The atmosphere was welcoming and calm.
Simply a very big thank you to all the wonderful staff at Adelaide for the compassionate, loving care they provided my mother-in-law within the last few years of her life. They treated her with dignity and kindness throughout, as if she was one of their own family members. In turn, they were always very warm and friendly towards us.
Overall, my mother was treated with care and kindness, although she was only here for a week before she died. She was made very welcome. All staff treated her and our family with respect, for which we are truly grateful. My only criticism, which I shared with them, was that they gathered her personal effects into a black bin bag, and we were handed them only a couple of hours after her death, which was so sad!
