View Full Details of The Pines Care HomeRecently renovated and comfortable rooms. However, care was definitely inconsistent in my experience and wouldn't recommend it. My mum came in walking well from the hospital and declined rapidly whilst there. Didn't seem able to improve until she left. Thankfully now walking again.
First-class care providers. Recently refurbished and is clean comfortable and stylish. Staff are all very professional, approachable and genuinely caring. Food is fresh and varied. A range of activities are available daily, with great coordinators. It is as close to a home from home as is possible under the circumstances.
All the staff are so kind and caring. The housekeeping, catering, activities, estates, admin, management and nursing teams. The nursing team, both RN's and Health Care Assistants, are excellent. They know Mum very well and treat her as an individual with her own unique needs. They always make time to discuss any concerns we may have or when there's a change in her care plan. The two Activities Co-Ordinators are wonderful. They enthusiastically engage the residents in fun activities including trips out. By not wearing uniforms they seem less clinical which brings a lovely colour and variety to the residents' lives. The refurbishment has made a huge difference to the dining and sitting areas including a patio with tables and chairs which Mum has enjoyed sitting out on and having lunch in the sun.
My dad moved down from independent living in Greater London to The Pines Care Home in January 2024 after my stepmother passed away in September 2023. He is 96 but has all his faculties and is active and social. He was very lonely living on his own and he has absolutely thrived since moving into The Pines. My brother and I visit him frequently and the level of care and personal attention is second to none. All the staff are extremely professional and caring and very friendly to us when we visit. Since the recent renovation, the facilities are superb and the communal areas look more like a luxury hotel than a care home! The management of the home and the activities staff are first class and nothing is too much trouble for them. My dad has had a new lease on life since living there and loves interacting with the carers and staff, and the nurses are brilliant too. He's loving his 3-course lunches and has put on half a stone! Highly recommended.
I cannot fault the staff for the amazing care they are taking of my mum. Not only do they take care of her but they also support me - Mum has Alzheimer's and I'm on a steep learning curve but every single one of the staff is always ready to listen if I'm struggling (and also when things are going well). They really have taken the time to get to know Mum and she's told me that she's happy and everyone takes really good care of her. It's such a relief to know that she's safe and happy - I can't thank everyone enough.
Our mother has been a resident at The Pines Care Home for nearly two years and the care and kindness she has received during this time is wonderful. Recently she had a sudden deterioration in her health but with the care, diligence and kindness of all the staff she has made a very good recovery. All the staff (from medical, care assistants, activity coordinators, housekeeping, hospitality, catering, reception and maintenance) treat the residents like family and we cannot praise the manager and all his team enough. It is very hard to pick out one member of staff to thank as everyone we come into contact with are equally kind and caring. All the promises we were given in an introductory meeting have been fully met which obviously is very reassuring when making this life-changing decision to move into a Care Home.
We received a very warm welcome upon our first visit to The Pines and the process of moving my mother-in-law in was handled with speed and compassion at a very difficult time. There is always a friendly atmosphere around the home and all areas are kept spotlessly clean. All the staff are very friendly and exceptionally caring.
My mother has received exemplary care from all the staff at The Pines. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with a genuine family feel. The new social areas are well designed and never feel institutional. Staff are professional but make each resident feel appreciated and cared for. We love the dogs.
Such a special care home, full of staff who really care and treat the residents with kindness and dignity. Lovely communal area, great food and dads bedroom is perfect. Thank you for looking after my dad so well.
My mother was in The Pines Care Home for almost three years until her death in July 2023. Right from when she went in staff went out of their way to make her feel comfortable and valued. Daily activities are stimulating and varied and all the staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. My mother had Parkinson's and by the time she died was unable to do anything. She totally relied on the staff to meet all her needs and not once did they let her down. The same staff also were fantastic to myself and my sister and we were very touched that six of them attended her funeral. I cannot recommend The Pines highly enough and the manager and his wonderful team deserve to be recognised.
This care home really is the best. The way they looked after my mum with love, care and professionalism. The staff are exceptional and all done with care and a smile. My thoughts are the home is only as good as the staff within it and you can’t get better. They made a sad journey the best it could be. Thank you.
The outstanding feature of The Pines Care Home is the warmth and caringness demonstrated in particular by the management and nursing staff. They are proactive in caring for my mother and both encouraging and honest about her needs. Activity provision is also really good - The Pines have managed to recruit and retain some great individuals.
The Pines Care Home does deserve the word 'home'. The staff always make me feel welcome and the environment is cared for and cheerful. My friend was admitted to The Pines more than three years ago. I have since visited her regularly. My comments are based on what I observe during my visits. This includes contact with various members of staff. I can't comment on other residents' rooms, nor specifics re. 'value for money' as I am a friend and do not know what the costs involved. However, I'm confident that 'good' must be the relevant option. I very much value the person-centred approach. While the residents have much in common in that they belong to the same age group, have lost independence and need support, they are always treated as individuals. My friend has nursing needs and thus requires a hospital bed with a pressure-relieving mattress etc. The fact that she could bring some of her own pieces of furniture to The Pines, as well as having her own pictures on the walls, gives the room a homely feeling rather than a clinical one.
My sister has been in the wonderful care of the team at the Pines for quite a few years now. Whilst delivering first-class care in what is a care home, The Pines is a very special place which goes above and beyond. There is a personal connection not just to the residents but to their family members and friends. Nothing is too much trouble. It feels like home and one big happy and highly professional caring family. I highly recommend it.
The Pines management and staff are so thoughtful, kind and very caring. They have always done whatever they can to make my mum happy. The place is spotless and very organised, and I would highly recommend The Pines.
My father landed on his feet when he arrived at The Pines in November. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. They are able to be both professional and exceptionally kind to all our family. I have to compliment the manager for creating such a pleasant atmosphere for the residents, visitors and workers. He and the team are a marvel!
I moved my mother to The Pines in September 2021 from a nursing home in Worthing. Six weeks later, she could not be happier. Her medical, emotional and practical needs are all fully met. The staff are warm and super-efficient. They are kind to Mum, other residents and me, as a concerned daughter. Truly superb standard of care.
My mother has been a resident for nine months. To begin with, my family and I knew she would resist being there. It’s taken the whole nine months for her to adjust, we’re very happy to say, she has settled in now. Agrees that the staff are kind, helpful and caring.
The Pines is a special nursing home. As a family, we are so grateful to the manager and all the staff, nurses, carers, events organisers, cooks and cleaners who make this nursing home such a wonderful home. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone. The care and nursing are exceptional.
All staff, regardless of role, have been consistently kind, polite and professional in their manner. Mum has been treated with the utmost care and respect and for this, we as a family are very grateful.
