View Full Details of Sycamore CourtI go to visit my brother-in-law annually when I return to the UK. He is getting some of the best treatment I have seen at this facility. The staff are very caring and attentive. They are always willing to help the clients there. The manager does a wonderful job as well as another particular staff member does.
Most impressed with the relaxed, homely, professionalism of all I came into contact with. My brother seems to have settled in well and built up a significant rapport with his care staff. Whilst I was there my brother had lunch it looked and smelled perfect, needless to say, my brother cleared his plate!
My husband has been a resident at Sycamore Court for over a year now. He found it hard to settle at first but the carers and nurses have helped him a lot, and in particular, the activities staff have done their very best to include him whenever he wants to join in. At other times he is happy to watch what is going on. I am impressed with the detailed records which are kept. It is very reassuring to be able to ask how he is when I visit, and to be given exact information about his day or night. Having been his carer myself for many years it is a great relief to see him being looked after so well now that I am no longer able to cope with his condition.
I have found that Sycamore Court is really willing to listen to the resident and try to meet his/her needs as an individual. They also take time to speak with relatives. I have also found that they have a highly professional approach to personal care and general comfort while maintaining a gentle and kind manner. My brother has the care he now needs and is not as anxious as before moving to Sycamore Court. I would recommend Sycamore Court to anyone looking for residential care for their loved one.
My partner has been in Sycamore Court for some time now and I have found all staff and management kind, caring and professional. Everywhere is clean and the environment is warm and welcoming. My partner is treated with kindness and respect and I have observed this with all residents. The food is really good and varied and the menu is changed every week. First class facility.
Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law were residents. We could not have been happier with the care that they both received. The care staff are very kind and caring. I would recommend this care home.
Very kind and caring staff. All friendly and will answer any questions you may have. Very clean and warm. The meals always look very good. Hot and well presented. The only fault I can find is my friend has no radio in his room, has a TV but it doesn't work. So yesterday he was just sitting alone in his room. It made me sad. I know he does go upstairs for arts and crafts and looks at TV in main lounge and he always eats all his lunch when I'm there.
Our mum came to Sycamore Court in May, and what a breath of fresh air the team is! We are so relieved her type 1 diabetes is much better managed, and her nutrition is always taken into account. From the manager, kitchen staff, housekeeping, maintenance team, and last but not least, the healthcare team, thank you for going the extra mile to keep our mum safe and looked after. Mum had a fall and had a week in the hospital, it was such an awful experience, and we were all pleased to get Mum back to Sycamore, as we knew they would get her back on track again; she has only been back a few days, but we know she is in good hands. I am also a mother of a severely disabled adult daughter and work in palliative care, so I know the health environments quite well. This service setting is one of the best, in my opinion. Thank you.
The staff are kind and caring. They do their best every day to engage and stimulate Mum, despite the challenges of her lack of mobility and severe dementia. They are also supportive of us as a family and understand how challenging a situation it is. They create opportunities for us to be involved and are always happy to see us.
Very friendly staff who understand my mum's needs, dealing with her Alzheimer's with respect and care. Mum has only been here for six months but seems to have settled well; there is always someone I can talk to, from the management level to the care staff, should I have any worries or concerns. The meals are excellent and varied, although a little too large for Mum's requirements. Always a difficult decision having to put a loved one into care, but as a family, we are happy with our choice.
Amazing staff and so friendly, and what an amazing gathering you put on for the Christmas party for all the residents. The Christmas activities were fantastic, and the activity staff always go above and beyond to keep them entertained. The food is amazing and always fresh.
Everything about the home is excellent, My mother's room is clean and tidy, the food is very good, and the staff are very attentive and considerate. My mother is very happy at the home, which is my primary concern.
We are all very pleased with the care and attention she has received. We know she can be a little awkward at times, but she loves it there and sings its praises.
My mother was a resident at Sycamore court for 15 months. She had Alzheimer’s, she was at the stage that she only lived in the moment but kept her sense of humour. Luckily most of Mums time there was before lockdown. My family had the opportunity to witness her care on a daily basis. From day one she was cared for with great respect and understanding of her condition by all staff and management. I will always be grateful for the care and genuine love my mother received at Sycamore court. It was very reassuring during lockdown to be convinced that she was being looked after and the staff did everything possible during this difficult time to keep the family involved in her care. Thank you to every one of the staff that cared for Mum.
My uncle has been here for 3-years; he is very well looked after. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help and assist you if you have any issues. Also, had an aunt here several years ago, again the staff were lovely. My uncle is well known here and always loves to chat with everybody. I looked at several care homes; this one was more homely. There are lots of activities for all the clients here, and they are encouraged to join in. They all seem very happy. Just to mention my uncle has dementia. Hope this review will helps to put your loved ones at Sycamore Court.
Found the staff to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was serene and happy. The entrance and day lounge were extremely clean and fresh. I’m unable to remark on my mother’s room as I’m yet to see this, but my mother is happy. There are planned activities on a regular basis which my mother finds very enjoyable. Not having first hand experience on the care and support, I’m unable to comment, but my mother seems to be happy, and that’s important to me. Not tasted the food or seen the preparation, so unable to comment. I know that my mother has enjoyed her food.
I have always found the staff both extremely caring for my wife and helpful to me. Staff always seem very efficient concerning my wife's many needs, and in these trying times, giving me a Covid-19 test. Altogether, a very well run home.
I have found it a very happy place for my wife and other residents. The staff are fantastic. From when the new manager started, I have seen the improvements. Activities are great, and they help the residents. We all have a lovely time, and it's a lovely atmosphere. I have been to a lot of homes in my time, and nothing beats this one!
I am very impressed with this excellent home, the staff are very friendly, polite and professional. The atmosphere is 'cheerful'. The rooms are spotless (very very clean) and decorated tastefully. I like the outdoor area (well-maintained garden). There are plenty of books and activities for residents and visitors to occupy themselves. It is more like a hotel! My mother-in-law says the food is very nutritious an appetising.
My mother, who is now 96, has been a resident in this home since March 2016 after being discharged from hospital as "bed-bound". I am entirely satisfied with the care and attention she has received here, and this to a great degree makes up for my own regret that she was not able to return to her own home. I particularly draw attention to the exemplary personal attitude and motivation of many of the staff, given that this, above all, is not in any way a purchasable commodity. When I chose this home from all the others I visited, I particularly thought of the relatively small number of residents, the fact that this is a relatively new and purpose-designed building, and the relaxed and friendly attitude of the staff. Given the innate difficulties of dealing with people who may often be substantially mentally-disoriented and/or distressed I continue to think that this home provides a very high standard of care, and have had no reason to regret my choice.
