View Full Details of Aniska LodgeOur Dad spent the last few weeks of his life in Aniska Lodge, as a family, we all feel very fortunate that Dad was able to be fast-tracked into their care when he was discharged from hospital. The manager and all the staff were kind and caring. They were constantly attentive and available without being intrusive to both the needs of Dad and his visitors. They treated Dad with respect at all times and were patient with him even when he was sometimes tricky. The home is spotlessly clean and well-equipped and maintained. It is obvious that the whole team care about the work they do and works well together, including Mr Cat! We would highly recommend the home, their gentle and kind care is everything you could hope for. Thank you from all of us.
Aniska Lodge provided a true home for me at a time that was particularly challenging in terms of terms of my physical and mental health. I have felt both safe and secure here, demonstrated by a vast improvement in my appetite, sleep pattern and mood. The staff here are exemplary in their person-centered delivery of care and demonstrate a high level of professionalism throughout each day. Their care, support and guidance given to my family has been very much appreciated. Thank you.
My brother spent the last 4 years of his life in Aniska Lodge, suffering from dementia and schizophrenia, he received nothing but the best care and support from all the great staff who work there and I state this without fear of contradiction. They were friendly efficient and kind, I cannot praise them highly enough. The facilities are modern, clean and welcoming, I have no doubt that if he were able, my brother would have expressed all his gratitude for how he was treated with such respect and care. Thank you again and good luck going forward.
My mum was a resident at Aniska Lodge for nearly 2 years. During that time the staff were kind, caring and compassionate. They ensured that my mum was comfortable and safe. They took time to get to know her and the best way to support her on a day-to-day basis. Sadly in October, she passed away suddenly, the staff were with her to the end as I was unable to get there in time. Their love and support for not only my mum but the whole family was beyond their call of duty.
Aniska Lodge was highly recommended to us by a family friend who had been very pleased with the care his parents had received and so our dad, who had Macular Degeneration and Dementia moved in last January. My family and I cannot praise highly enough the care and support that our dad received during his time here. Each and every member of the Aniska team was so patient and kind and nothing was ever too much for them - no matter how busy they were. One of the last comprehensible things our dad said to us was that 'everybody there was very nice and they really looked after him'. We felt so reassured. Sadly our dad recently passed away and they were so gentle and caring during this emotional and difficult time. My family and I will always be grateful to the Aniska staff for all their care and support. Thank you.
Our dad spent the last 10 months of his life in Aniska Lodge, suffering with Alzheimer's and was given the best care and support possible by the great staff who work there. They were so friendly and kind and would sit and talk to him, we cannot praise them highly enough. Thank you very much, you are all fantastic. The home itself is spacious with a big lounge where they supplied entertainment now and again, kept very clean and tidy at all times. We were recommended by a friend to Aniska and we would highly recommend Aniska as well.
This review relates to Sept: 23 to date. My husband had a bad stroke, losing his speech and loss of his right side - I was very worried about his care. Aniska Nursing Home put us at ease from day one. It has happy and caring staff, with a selection of clean, bright rooms. I am extremely grateful for my husband to be there, knowing he is in safe hands. I highly recommend this nursing home.
The care provided was excellent. Always made to feel welcome. Clean and tidy. Felt as though residents believed they were at home. They appeared happy and comfortable.
I am very happy here, and it is extremely comfortable here. I couldn't be in a better place.
Speaking for myself and the rest of the family. We couldn't be more pleased with the care that our mother has received. The rooms are very nice. The communal lounge area is a very useful space and it is used to its full potential. Everything is kept in good condition and very clean. The staff are very friendly. There is a constant supply of food and drinks throughout the day. The staff work very hard to provide entertainment, with a variety of events and crafts. Also, a regular stream of performers are booked to entertain the residents. The most important thing for us is that our mother is happy.
My partner is so fortunate to be a resident in Aniska Lodge. The care is wonderful in every respect and I am so happy to know that he is cared for by the staff who are all delightful, cheerful and hard-working. It is always a pleasure to visit Aniska Lodge and the truly loving and caring staff. I am able to relax knowing that he is happy and so safe here. We love the entertainment which is provided for residents and family. Thank you all so much.
My mother has Parkinson's/dementia and I tried to care for her at her home but when she went to Aniska Lodge it was a huge weight off my shoulders. The staff are so kind and patient with Mum and home is always spotless. I can relax and visit her daily happy in the knowledge she is well cared for. They are truly great with her ever-changing dementia 10/10.
My mum was in your care for 6 weeks, I was very happy with the service and care you offered, lovely staff who genuinely respected the residents. Tranquil rooms and view. Thank you for treating my mum as a friend.
My mother became a resident early in 2020 when we were sadly unable to care for her at home. It was a difficult decision to make, but when my father and I were shown around Aniska Lodge, we felt very lucky to have found a home that was friendly, clean and didn't smell. My mother found it hard to live away from home, and at times could be rude, difficult and challenging towards the staff however, they were always kind, supportive and patient with her and consistently updating me with any concerns. My mother's needs were always met and she looked clean and smart when I visited. Towards the end of her life the staff kept her very comfortable in her room, and were very attentive to her needs at all times. I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone for the excellent personal service you gave her when she entered the final phase of her life and the support you gave us when she passed away.
My father was nervous about being at Aniska Lodge but very quickly we realised just how friendly everyone was. There was always something going on, singing, art, movement, dogs visiting, etc. I know at times my dad could be grumpy but this never phased anyone. He was not with you for long but everyone was kind and he did talk about the people he liked. He was very happy you always remembered his favourite pudding. You have all been marvellous. Thank you so much.
This is my first experience of a care home and it's much better than I envisaged. The staff are brilliant, always happy and attentive and do lots to keep the residents occupied i.e paintings, puzzles and even trips to garden centres etc. Both the management and staff are well informed about the residents and keep us relatives up to date with what's going on. There seems to be plenty of food available and the carers make the effort to encourage and help them eat it. I've sampled sandwiches and cake and they've been delicious! Cheaper than other care homes.
The care my mother received was very good, she enjoyed her stay here.
My husband spent two weeks respite at Aniska Lodge in October. We were warmly welcomed with tea and biscuits. Everyone was helpful and friendly. His room was spotless and comfortable. He was looked after and I could ring the home at any time for an update. As my husband is unable to give an opinion, I will fill in the options from my own observations. I cannot comment on value for money as we are now council-funded. The staff were really caring and helpful. The manager personally returned some clothes that were in the laundry when we left. I would gladly use this nursing home again for respite.
The home has been very good to my son and he loved it there. He always had a laugh with all the staff and loved playing bingo and painting. I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff, keep up the good work.
My mum spent the last fifteen months of her life in this exceptionally caring nursing home and was looked after extremely well. Light, airy and clean room. The staff are friendly, even offering tea and understanding.
