View Full Details of Hooklands Care HomeMy Father has just passed away, after 18 months as a Resident of Hooklands Care Home. It was a difficult adjustment for him, having been struggling with dementia and having endured hospitalisation for delirium episodes. I cannot praise the staff enough for their patience and compassion shown to my Father and other residents. It is a difficult and emotionally taxing job, compounded by the Covid measures we had to endure and the isolation the elderly were subjected to. The property was always clean, and staff were constantly vigilant as to the needs of the residents. The position on the seafront makes it quite special. I have fond memories of sitting on a bench looking over the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. Thank you to all the dedicated staff for your kindness
My mother has been a resident for over 2 years. The care she has received is second to none and I am completely satisfied with all aspects. She is very happy and tells me how lovely all the staff are. The home is very clean and the staff are very helpful and good at communicating with the family.
My Mum and my stepdad have been at Hooklands for nearly two years and both have a form of dementia. Both are very happy there and it is a great comfort to me and my brother and the rest of their family and friends how well they are looked after. Hooklands is a very happy place and the staff there are always cheerful and welcoming. Nothing has been too much trouble especially dealing with the pandemic they have been reassuring all through. The environment is lovely being on the beach and the views are amazing even on the dullest days. I couldn’t wish for a better place for Mum to be.
Mum went to Hooklands for respite care. All of the staff we came into contact with were really kind and caring. Would definitely use Hooklands again.
Firstly, how the home took Mum in where others had written her off due to her advanced dementia. Alas, Mother did not live long enough to enjoy fully the home's facilities. The staff were excellent and did all they could and more for her.
This home is dirty, the staff don't care about the resident. The residents seem not to have choice, dignity or are shown any respect.
