View Full Details of Barchester Marriott House & LodgeMy brother is happy and very well looked after in a beautiful Marriott House. Best care home in the whole of England.
The person I am visiting is very well cared for. The carers are very appropriately communicative with all persons. They give choices at mealtimes. Amazing place. Could do with a few more chairs for rooms - for visitors.
I brought my aunt here two years ago and I cannot fault it in any way. She has been happy, well looked after and has enjoyed the last years of her life. The staff have always been delightful both to me and to my aunt. They keep me well informed and are always so kind. They actually truly care about their residents, a rarity these days. The food is amazing, fantastic activities and I was able to video call my aunt weekly as I was living in Portugal! All I can say is thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We have visited here for the last two years and cannot fault the care our friend has received. The staff are so friendly and kind. The lodge is always very clean and tidy. The food is always very tasty. There is always something going on and the residents always seem happy. The residents are also clean and tidy. The staff always offer to help and fetch drinks for us.
She always said how happy she was here at this care home and how the staff took such good care of her. She liked the food and the atmosphere.
A well-run, happy home with friendly staff.
Whenever I visit, I always feel very welcome, the staff are always very friendly and helpful, there is always a very happy atmosphere and the residents always look happy and well cared for with lots of activities for the residents. The manager and her team are to be congratulated on their level of care.
I'm impressed by the care given to my mother who has not found the transition easy. She's always well groomed, well dressed, the food is excellent. The staff are patient and cheerful.
Our 93-year-old mother moved to the residential lodge in January 2024 and since that time, we have seen great improvements in her physical health, well-being and happiness. The staff at Barchester Marriott House & Lodge maintain a professional, calm approach to their work which benefits all the residents. The in-house chef cooks meals and all-day refreshments are delivered in healthy, sensibly sized portions, to a varied menu choice. Outdoor activities take advantage of the beautifully maintained gardens with plenty of spaces for quiet family get-togethers. Located at the old Westgate side of Chichester, it's only a short walk to the cathedral and city centre for shopping, restaurants and park visits. A gem of a care home in a fabulous location.
My husband has been a resident in the Lodge for just over two years, and is very happy there. He is always treated with kindness, understanding and dignity. The team work tirelessly to meet his needs. Any request is always met with a smile and I feel part of 'the family' when I visit. I could not wish for a better place to keep my husband safe and cared for. Thank you to the amazing team.
My mother, aged 91, was suffering from vascular dementia when she moved into Marriott House in December 2021. The management and staff immediately put our minds at rest and we knew that she would be in the best of hands. Over the next two and a half years until she passed away, she received the best professional care combined with the utmost kindness and humour from every member of staff. As family members, we were always given the warmest of welcomes when we visited and were regularly kept up to date as to how Mother was doing. It was comforting for the family to know that her last years were spent in such a caring environment and that she was happy and well looked after. We have nothing but praise for Marriott House and the staff and would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone who is seeking the best of care for an elderly loved one.
We always get a warm welcome when we visit the in-laws at Marriott House. The house and grounds always look good. The carers do a fantastic job caring for everyone. We have eaten a couple of times at the house too, was really lovely.
Had an anniversary lunch for Mum and Dad with eight people which was very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff. We sat outside afterwards in the lovely weather and beautiful setting looking at the cathedral.
Following a bad fall, my 90 year old mother was admitted for respite care. We chose Barchester Marriott House and Lodge because we immediately felt the real focus on the care of the resident given by our initial meeting with the general manager and administration manager. Three weeks in we are seeing a real improvement in Mum's recovery and could not be more pleased with the care and attention shown to Mum and all the other residents we see on our visits to the home. It takes real skill and dedication to manage a care home and we have found the general manager to be excellent in all aspects of the home, a really great team, also well supported by the administration manager who has years of experience and really cares.
I cannot describe how appreciative I am for the amazing treatment my mum received during the last couple of months of her life. She was treated with pure dignity and respect, and I was welcomed every day, being looked after just as much as she was. If it wasn't for the manager and the great team at Marriot House, my mum's end-of-life care would've been something I can't even think about. The honesty and integrity showed, not only with my mum but with all the residents. It didn't feel clinical and felt like home. The support I received all the way through was amazing. They were with me through all the emotional roller coaster. I will be forever grateful.
My father spent the last four months of his life at Barchester Marriott House & Lodge. He passed away this week. There are not enough superlatives to express the quality of care I witnessed. Staff were so kind to Dad, going the extra mile/above and beyond on numerous occasions. He told me every visit that he felt cared for and safe. Every member of staff from housekeeping, named nurses to health care assistants treated my father with dignity and compassion. We felt supported as a family when Dad passed. The general manager leads by example and has a first-class team who seem to enjoy coming to work - camaraderie amongst staff was palpable. The human touch was evident on so many occasions with a warm welcoming smile or a hug as Dad became more frail. I believe Marriott House is an exemplar in so many aspects from quality of care to supporting relatives. Thank you all for making my dad’s stay as comfortable as possible.
I have found the staff very helpful and especially the general manager. Thank you all.
I find the staff so very kind and patient, very smiley, and it is a very happy place.
Clean, friendly, staff are excellent. Whole site is well-kept. Nothing is too much, always on hand. Food is excellent.
Thank you for a fun and entertaining afternoon at the ' Hobby Horse Ascot Race Meet', which we were invited to attend with Mum. It was lovely to see so many of the residents spectating all around the course, waving flags and encouraging riders in each of the races. The staff were a real credit and great sports, participating in their own right and assisting residents who were up for joining in. Cups of tea followed and a sing song too. What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon, how lucky your residents are.
