View Full Details of Nightingale Nursing HomeWe are so grateful to Nightingale Nursing Home for the care and support given to my cousin over Christmas and the beginning of January this year. Although she was only a resident for the final few weeks of her life, the Manager and her staff team treated her with utmost dignity and respect. Any phone calls were answered promptly or returned quickly and communication was excellent. Thank you for your care it gave us peace of mind at a difficult time.
My mother has been a resident of Nightingale Nursing Home for over 3 years. I have been impressed by the care and compassion that the staff show my mother. She is very happy and comfortable there. The staff turnover is very low so the same care staff have been there for the duration of her stay.
Nightingale is a rare find these days. They really care about their residents and are very supportive of families. They have a consistent team of carers, which is so important. The home needs a bit of TLC as a building, but they are waiting on that. The care and family feel are so much more important.
First experience of living in basic facilities was compensated by excellent staff and a very pleasant garden to sit out in that provides fresh vegetables. The staff are very caring but they are not allowed to take us out to the beach or town. A user-friendly bath would be welcome
A wonderful, caring home where the staff show the upmost respect and kindness to residents. My mum came to the home in May and since that time, all of her needs have been met to the highest of standards. There is a real family feel to this home and all of the staff show genuine affection and care to each and every resident. Whenever I visit (which is most days) all of the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and are happy to answer any questions that I may have about my mum. It is clearly evident that the home is run by an experienced team of managers who have excellent communication skills and train their team to meet exemplary standards of care. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home and cannot thank each member of staff enough for all of their care, support and dedication.
The resident (who has dementia) settled in very easily and remains happy. Staff are very approachable and extremely attentive to residents' needs. The home is clean and tidy, however, the decor needs updating. The atmosphere is homely and the resident feels he is in his own sitting room.
Excellent care of my dad who died this year. Continued support and are for mum who has now been at Nightingale for a number of years. We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home.
Nightingale Nursing House is a warm, caring home from home. The staff are kind, do their best and treat the residents with dignity and compassion.
A very homely care home which is why I chose Nightingale Nursing Home. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Nice and clean too.
My mother-in-law became a resident 4 and a half months ago after a rapid deterioration in her mental and physical health. She has gained weight and her physical health has stabilised. Her dementia continues to worsen and she continues to remain dependent in every aspect, can feed herself but needs help for all aspects of self-care, hygiene and dressing. Cannot assess risk to self or others, memory continued to deteriorate but can to a limited extent join in creative activity.
Words cannot express gratitude to all the staff at Nightingale Nursing Home. My mother stayed here in such a lovely room for the last 17 days of her life. The professionalism, care, support and dignity that they showed my mum was truly outstanding and faultless, especially with all the COVID restrictions in place. Thank you all so very much.
My mother has dementia and has been a resident of the nursing home for nearly two years since her condition worsened and she started to need nursing care. Whenever I visit my mother she is always well looked after. The staff obviously care for her and do their best to make her happy, even though she can sometimes be a bit grumpy herself. The last year has been very difficult and when visiting became impossible the nursing home arranged a video call facility so Mum and I could stay in contact. I was impressed because I expect the COVID 19 situation placed a high workload on staff with the extra precautions, precautionary absences and everything else and sitting with Mum to operate the phone while I spoke to her was an extra task. The home is in an older building, while this may not suit some I think it has the feel of a home and not a hotel or a hospital or institution. I think my mother receives excellent care and could not be in a better place or with nicer or better carers.
My husband arrived at Nightingale in December 2020, and he has been very well looked after. Unfortunately, he is very poorly in balance so needs assistance on and off the bed. My husband suffered from Leavy Body Dementia and can be up in spirit or very down. The staff have been wonderful in looking after him, and I know he is well cared for.
My mother continues to enjoy living at Nightingale Nursing Home where she is looked after so well by the staff. She feels safe and secure and we as a family, feel pleased that she is so happy there. The staff are so good, always ensuring all her needs are met and always cheerful. We are so grateful that we found such a good place to care for her in these last years.
My husband has been a resident at the home for six months. He has found everyone very friendly and helpful. The care he has been given is very good. The home is run like an extended family and is very friendly and informal. He is able to participate in group activities and now receives weekly physio. I take my dog into the home which my husband really enjoys.
An excellent nursing home.
This home was selected as we knew from previous experience (my father was a resident before he passed away) that the level of care was excellent. The staff have been in position for a significant length of time and provide a very friendly and caring atmosphere.
My mum first came to Nightingale Nursing Home in January 2017 for respite care 2 and a half years after my dad died. She decided she never wanted to go home again! The staff were friendly and cheerful. Mum was a chatterbox and always had things to do and staff to chat to. Mum lived at Nightingale Nursing Home until her death in January 2019. She died in the home, where she wanted to be and the staff always did their best for her.
Nightingale Nursing Home caters for the care of elderly people who are unable to live without assistance and guidance for all aspects of their welfare. The staff provide a personal service, embracing a wide range of care, from total care of bed confined patients to those with age-related issues needing support with mental and physical disabilities. The accommodation is excellent and for those requiring social contact, stimulating activities are provided by staff and outside support. Visitors are made welcome. When, as inevitable, end of life is experienced, attention to patients at this time is conducted with calm dignity and respect in an efficient manner.
We were so lucky to have found Nightingale Nursing Home for our aunt. She was a long-term resident and right up to her last day in the home she was treated with loving care and dignity. All the staff were brilliant and became not only family to her but good friend to us.
