View Full Details of Pendean House Care HomeDad moved to Pendean in September 2024 and the team have been so welcoming and helped not just Dad settling in but the wrap around care and explanation supporting us, his family, is greatly appreciated too. The activities provided for residents are great and varied and the recent Valentine's lunch was a great success with Mum able to join Dad for lunch too.
For the short time he was a resident, my father received first-class care. Two particular members of staff were so helpful and kind to us with all of the staff making him feel comfortable and welcome. The family would like to thank the night nurse and carers who looked after him at the end.
Beautiful home with the most incredible staff. My dear Mum was only at Pendean for a short time before she lost her fight. The care, love and attention she received was outstanding. Working in care myself, I found it hard to let her go into the hands of others, but they were all incredible.
I am the wife of an irascible, retired clergyman, whom I was afraid to leave for an operation that had become vital for me. After becoming financially secure (praise be for a charity) and having met the 'guy near the door', leaving my husband for a short while left me happy that he would be cared for as if he were family.
From the moment I arrived at Pendean, I felt the warmth of a welcome from all the staff. That feeling continues to this day, same 40 days later. Pendean is an amazing place. All my family and friends are so surprised at the attention they get when visiting. It must be one of the very best care homes in the country, and I feel privileged to be here.
All the staff at Pendean are wonderful: carers, reception, nursing, admin and management have all shown my mum exceptional care, kindness and attentiveness. I particularly appreciate the consistent efforts made to entertain and encourage residents to socialise.
When arriving at Pendean House, immediately felt a warm and welcoming presence by staff for my mother's trail visit. The staff were friendly, reassuring, and catered to her every need. She enjoyed the activities and spoke highly of the food. Thank you, it was reassuring for us to know she was in a safe and caring place.
I am the Charity and Community Coordinator at Seaford College and we regularly visit Pendean Nursing Home with the students to volunteer. We are always made incredibly welcome - everybody is very friendly, and the staff cannot do enough for us. Vicky is always very helpful when arranging visits and the children never want to leave when it's time to go back to school!
I would like to express my immense gratitude to all the staff that welcomed and cared for my dearest mother during her last weeks at Pendean House. The experienced nurses and cares ensured she was kept comfortable and pain-free - being treated constantly with dignity, patience, and compassion. The housekeepers carried out their duties in her room with gentle and timely consideration. Personally, all staff made me feel part of my mother's care and the reception and kitchen staff made me feel so welcome and cared for too from the outset. Finally, I'll be eternally grateful for the care given by the 3-night staff who were with her at the peaceful end of her life.
Very happy with the care being provided by lovely caring staff. Nothing too much trouble. Delightful gardens, a very happy and friendly home. Staff very familiar with their patients and their needs.
Pendean is an excellent house and I am more than pleased to have found it. I can give it good or excellent in the ratings below. In particular I appreciated the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help. I was given a choice of rooms and got the one that most suited my needs. I came in for a fortnight to recuperate after surgery and I very much recommend everyone in the same position to do the same. Whether it is for a long or a short stay, Pendean goes to the top of the list and deserves serious consideration.
Watched a harpist with my friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. Always look forward to the entertainment - good variety.
My friend went into Pendean House in August 2020 with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). From day one all was great, he never complained about staff, food, laundry or accommodation. He was respected by all the staff at Pendean. Sadly, he passed away on 04/05/2024 after a long hard battle with PSP but was well-supported at all times by all the staff at Pendean. Thank you to all the staff.
We arrived intending to take my aunt to the pub for lunch but she preferred to stay in her room and ordered sandwiches for us, plus some wine! All done with good humour and consideration. The staff who attended to my aunt were all friendly and appeared to be pleased to help. The room was clean and tidy and the garden outside her room was very pleasant and colourful.
Mum has been living a happy contented life, knitting, gardening and seeing he friends, but as she got older she became fearful of things she didn't understand, especially modern technology, and it was clear she needed help. Although the move to Pendean was a huge step she accepted that this would be her life now and from the moment she met your receptionist she fell in love with his happy enthusiasm for life and began to feel safe again. She joined in with the games and quizzes, enjoyed the entertainment and liked to sit knitting in the garden room. Unfortunately, Mum fell and broke her hip which meant she had to be hospitalised and she sadly died the day after the operation from complications. The only regret is that she didn't make it back to Pendean for her final days among the staff she felt were her friends. I thank every one of the staff there for giving my mum a final burst of happiness.
Pendean House is in a lovely setting on the edge of a local town, with a wonderful garden. The staff there are very friendly and caring, and we felt our mum was well looked after. The receptionist was particularly helpful and supportive and was instrumental in us making the decision to move our mum into the home.
My husband spent the last 2 weeks of his life at Pandean. From the greeting upon arrival, the friendliness, professionalism and empathy of all staff was superb. I cannot fault anything. The beautiful overgrowth garden gave us all great solace.
I found this a happy place.
I was very happy with it. We had a particularly good activities coordinator, the catering was very good. Perhaps I would say that the desserts were a bit too sweet but this is a completely subjective point of view. It was nice we were offered a choice of what we ate.
I came to stay at Pendean House after a period of 10 days in the hospital. It was a refreshing change. My stay at Pendean House coincided with my 90th birthday and I was treated to a tea party to which my two sons and six grandchildren were made welcome in the lounge and we enjoyed birthday cake together with the staff looking after us. That leaves me with happy memories.
