View Full Details of Barchester Red Oaks Care HomeThank you for the care and consideration at a time of need. Staff very kind and helpful at all times. Wonderful food and thanks to chef and colleagues. You all made this a safe, happy stay. I felt safe and secure in your hands.
Our recently deceased Dad spent the last two and half years of his life at Red Oaks. We have nothing but praise for this care home and without exception, the staff who work there. He sometimes referred to it as his 'hotel' and it was that and so much more. He was treated at all times with great love and affection and nothing was too much trouble for the carers and nursing staff. They made sure his final days were comfortable and dignified and for this and everything else, we are extremely grateful. We will miss you all.
I came here for a week's respite before going home, after a hip operation. I had been to visit a friend who had stayed for respite in Red Oaks and was impressed by the care she received. I live locally and knew of Red Oaks. I have been well looked after and benefitted from the week here. Carers are attentive. Excellent menu choices each day. My room was in the older part of the building, hot water took its time to reach the bathroom!
Barchester Red Oaks Care Home is very welcoming. All the staff are extremely helpful. My mother has settled in very well and is happy and safe with a variety of activities.
From the first point of contact to arrange an assessment in hospital, my husband has been welcomed and encouraged with warmth and understanding with person-centred professionalism. Family visits have been welcomed and with first-rate nursing care, aided his recovery. Barchester Red Oaks Care Home is a truly remarkable care home.
I am impressed with Red Oaks. As the only relative living in the USA, I needed assurance that my mother would be well cared for and understood. All staff are outstanding. Their compassion, humour and sensitivity are beyond reassuring to me and in turn my mother. The professionalism and training in dementia is thorough and sensitive to her needs and moods. The comfort and excellent food at Red Oaks make it a real home where visitors are welcomed.
My wife entered Barchester Red Oaks Care Home on 17th January 2024 having been discharged (on 2nd January) with terminal lymphoma in addition to her existing dementia illness. Prognosis was passing within two months. Red Oaks management and staff cared for my wife in an exemplary manner; I can't speak too highly for every aspect of care and compassion to both my wife and family. Three weeks into her stay, my wife passed away, peacefully and with dignity that I/family will treasure.
It is so nice to visit my friend at Red Oaks. The atmosphere is so calm and friendly and she seems very content there. The gardens are lovely and she enjoys her activities and coffee mornings. I also have the opportunity to have lunch with her and 'fish and chip Friday' is very popular! There is a lovely hair salon which the ladies love to visit and nothing is too much trouble.
The current support has been exceptional from all the staff. I would never have coped with the transition from hospital to home without this period of convalescence at bBarchester Red Oaks Care Home. Thank you.
The premises look like a lovely, high-class hotel. The staff are all really lovely. The home has a lovely, "homely" feel about it. It is a pleasure to visit.
Every member of staff is very caring and all remember my Christian name. I received wonderful service from the chef in the kitchen on the first floor, where each day I had a full English breakfast with coffee with milk followed by toast and marmalade.
When my aunt was admitted to Red Oaks, she was very frail and we did not expect her to last the month. Thanks to the wonderful care she has had over the last five months she has just achieved her 100th birthday. She no longer uses her Zummer frame and goes up and down the stairs without any help/she is very happy and well-settled.
My mother-in-law's care for the last 8 months has been excellent in every respect.
My mother has been at Red Oaks for 8 months. The staff have been excellent, treating Mum with great care, compassion and dignity at all times. She has been encouraged to join in activities and particularly enjoys the various musical events that are organised. All members of staff have been helpful and cooperative when answering the phone and taking the phone to Mum wherever she happens to be. I have been kept informed about any medical issues and then have been dealt with quickly and appropriately.
A belated but nevertheless sincere thank you to the management and staff of Red Oaks for the kindness and care they gave my dear Mum during her two-year stay from January 2021 - January 2023. Mum was 102 when she passed away but during her stay, she thoroughly enjoyed all the activities particularly the singing and the art club together with the garden parties on the beautiful grounds. Mum also made great friends with her carers and nurses and their kindness and attention to detail were much appreciated by me and my close family. Red Oaks was excellent.
A fantastic homely, safe and engaging home and community which my father-in-law enjoys immensely. He is thriving and now enjoys all the activities which he had given up and isolated himself from as his dementia/Alzheimer’s made it difficult for him to join in. The food, facilities and activities make this home more like an all-inclusive resort with beautiful grounds and attentive staff. The staff go above and beyond to care for him and he really enjoys being part of the community.
Following a stay for respite care, my mother decided to stay at Red Oaks. The staff are very friendly, helpful and kind and she is settling in very well with their support and encouragement. The manager and nurses have been very responsive and helpful with the necessary paperwork and support with funding and planning for permanent residency at the care home.
As a family, who were looking after our father in his own home, it was a heartwrenching decision to contemplate him ever going into a home. As much as we can provide for him at home, we are not able to provide him with the care and attention that his ill health needs. Every single staff member has treated him with dignity while enabling him to feel safe and secure in those new surroundings. We are totally in was of all the wonderful support given to Dad and us as a family.
For two years my mother was a resident. She clearly felt safe and contented. Every member of staff without exception showed her kindness and consideration. The nursing staff were very skilled and kept us informed about any health issues. I am so glad he chose Red Oaks. Thank you to the manager and all her staff.
The care my mother receives is first class - compassionate, professional, dignified and patient, always with good humour. The home is of a very high standard, well-kept, well-furnished and with spacious rooms. Activities are well-organised and every effort is made to accommodate residents' own interests. The food is excellent, produced by a great team, again, catering where required for individual tastes and requirements. Having my mother there is a weight off our minds, knowing she is safe and cared for to a very high standard even during these difficult times when recruitment of care staff is so challenging. Well done and thank you to the whole team.
