View Full Details of Aster Grove Nursing HomeI can not judge food and drink - I am only present in the afternoon. My sister is not in a good enough state (mental ability) to join in activities. The staff are always helpful, cheerful and willing to help in any and every way. I am very happy with the care provided and particularly the friendliness shown to me when visiting and to my sister at all times. Thank you!
Everyone at Aster Grove have a great attitude to all the residents. Their individual needs, tastes and moods are catered and handled with sensitivity and genuine care. The whole atmosphere of Aster Grover is warm and welcoming.
I write this review with reference to my mother who came to Aster Grove in August 2023 suffering from very severe dementia after a long period of specialist care in a mental health hospital. Naturally, as a family, we were in need of reassurance for her transfer from her previous care setting. The staff at Aster Grove were amazing, not only with our mum's transfer and care but also with us, especially my dad who was struggling with all that was happening with his wife of 64 years. Over the time of her stay, he also became known by all the staff and they welcomed him at every visit, always kind, friendly and the staff looked after him, helping in his acceptance and understanding of mum's slow decline with dementia. Sadly Mum passed away in November 2024 but the care in her final weeks was dignified, compassionate and caring. All the staff were there for her and us during her final days. The whole staffing team were amazing and I would recommend this home without hesitation.
The care given to my mother who had dementia was excellent. She was treated with dignity and compassion throughout her stay at Aster Grove. The staff listened to our concerns and gave Mum the care she needed, not given in 2 previous care homes. The care given in her final weeks was exceptional, making her family's distressing time less anxious. Thank you Aster Grove.
I can't praise this care home enough - my mum has been in it just coming up to a month. The staff are kind, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They are always cheerful, positive and happy and a joy to talk with. The manager has been welcoming to my mum and our family from day one - he's a superb manager. His attention to every detail of my mum's care is second to none - outstanding! My mum was so spoiled on her birthday - a cake was baked for her and her room was decorated beautifully - thank you to the manager and the team! Overall the standard of care Mum has received has been thorough, detailed and attentive and I couldn't ask for more. Thank you - I truly am so grateful!
Aster Grove is so nice, clean and the staff are friendly. I was lucky that my father was placed in this home. I feel assured that my father has been looked after as he is at home. I would recommend this place - Amazing.
Aster Grove is a bright and welcoming nursing home close to the sea and parkland. The staff are friendly, helpful, very attentive and always cheerful. The nursing staff are efficient and caring. They are always willing to discuss any medical problems. At Christmas the home laid on a party for residents and their relatives which was great fun and recently for my husband's birthday, a cake was baked for residents and guests to share.
My wife was admitted to Aster Grove Nursing Home on the 11th of December 2022. Initially 4 weeks of respite after weeks of trying to care for her myself and others. I myself was in need of respite despite excellent help from the dementia care team and social services, it was not possible for her to stay at home. So now I know she is safe and cared for in a way I could not possibly have cared for her at home.
The residents are treated with such care and love from the staff which makes me happy to know that Dad is so well looked after.
A lovely welcoming and friendly nursing home, all staff are caring. Nothing too much trouble for the residents or relatives. Residents look happy and cared for. The bedrooms are spacious and spotless as in the rest of the building. Christmas period was great, party for the residents and relatives. Scrumptious food Christmas day they all had a gift and a festive lunch. Management and nursing staff keep me well informed of any medical or problems that occur.
As a family, we visited on Christmas Day and prior to that we attended the Christmas party. Both events were fantastic. The staff were so caring and friendly with all of the residents the giving of Christmas presents to each resident was a really special moment. Aster Grove is such a warm and caring place for our father to live.
We visited my father-in-law a few times and the experience that we got is not welcoming. We feel that we are not welcome, it's like a prison. We have to ring when we come to visit him. We live in Manchester, and it is very difficult travelling all this way for a certain person to say why haven't you rung, we just travelled nearly 8 hours and didn't realise you had to ring, but you said next time if you don't ring you're not allowed in. The manager is a very abrupt rude person.
Since my wife entered this care home a few months back I have visited her daily. I have been very impressed with all the staff from the management to the cleaning staff. The managers are polite and caring and will do their very best to resolve any problems you may have. The nursing and caring staff are without doubt dedicated and caring and are a credit to their profession. The home is always clean and the food good. I have visited 3 or 4 homes. I am very happy my wife is here.
My husband has been a resident for 4 months now. Apart from his Dementia, he has other ongoing health issues. He is very well looked after and cared for in all aspects. The staff are all very caring, attentive and friendly towards residents and visitors. To know that he is in such a caring friendly place is a great comfort to me.
We have just completed a care plan review and were really impressed with the amount of detail that goes in to care. Gran is always happy since moving to Aster Grove Nursing Home and the staff are very welcoming. We particularly love the two activity doggies that visit the home.
My brother-in-law has settled in very well. The carers are very good with him as he has dementia and gets frustrated when he cannot remember things.
We attended the Xmas party which was well organised. The food was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the entertainment was very good.
We can't say thank you enough for how you look after our daughter. She has been with you about 4 months now, she is treated like a princess. She absolutely loves being with you which in turn takes a lot of worry of us. We bring the grandkids down every Sunday to see their mum. The staff, I don't really want to call them that as they treat us like family and are so friendly, they can't do enough for us all when we visit. Today we were all out the garden with other residents having a good old laugh. This care home is amazing and we would recommend it anytime. Thank you all.
My father was at Regency Court for 9 years, the staff here have always been kind to my dad and treated him with dignity and respect. When dad was terminally ill their end of life care was second to none. They sat and held his hand made sure he was always comfortable never in pain and always looking clean and smart which is never easy in the last days. Thank you all for making the last few weeks so much easier for me and dad.
Staff work hard, often they appear to be short staffed. In particular, the nursing staff are very helpful and know my wife and her needs very well and seem to want to make a difference. The management needs to invest in the home as it has been run down for too long. There have been very little improvements/investments since the previous care provider left.
