View Full Details of Apsley House Care HomeMy sister has been in Apsley House Care Home for over two years, in that time she was treated with much respect. The love and kindness shown to her has been amazing. She was treated so well by the staff and management. I cannot fault them and will always be grateful to them.
I found that my late sister had the best care and attention that anyone could wish for. All the staff were so kind and attentive towards her, nothing was too much trouble for them.
When my father deteriorated rapidly and could no longer be cared for at home Apsley House Care Home came to our rescue. The staff admitted him with efficiency and the care they gave him throughout his short, end-of-life stay was second to none. Everyone who we had contact with was kind, caring and ensured Dad's last days on earth were pain-free, comfortable, dignified and peaceful. We could not have done this without you, thank you all.
We moved Dad to Apsley House Care Home in mid-November 2024 as he needed full-time nursing care during what we knew would be his final few months (he died in mid-January aged 95). The home and all the staff have been absolutely brilliant throughout. Dad was treated with love, care and dignity and the support provided not only to him but to my sister and myself has been first-class. It was always a pleasure to visit, the home is friendly, efficiently run, open and airy, warm, clean and the staff always had a smile and were welcoming and empathetic. Dad could not have been in a better place or better cared for and my sister and I will be eternally grateful to the whole team that Dad's final few months were spent there. Thank you to all of you, you do a difficult job brilliantly and have made a real and positive difference.
My sister died at Apsley House Care Home on the 5th of December 2024. She went to Apsley House in January 2023 as the care home she had lived in previously could no longer cope with her increasing fragility and falls. Apsley House staff on arrangement have been wonderful with her during the two years she was with them. They managed to maintain a light-hearted friendliness at the same time as scrupulous attention to the nursing and medical needs of my sister.
Very helpful and considerate staff at a difficult time. My father and myself were very happy with the care he was given.
My mother was looked after very well. All the staff were very caring towards my mother and made her last days comfortable. All the staff were sympathetic and respectful and I have no complaints about the care given.
I found all the staff very caring and sympathetic. They were always there when needed and always respectful and so friendly. They attend to my mother-in-law with dignity. I cannot press enough about how my experience at Apsley House was - excellent.
All staff at all times are caring, considerate, helpful, and always welcomed with a smile. Nothing is too much for them. The best care home I have ever visited.
My wife was resident in the home for 2 months, before she passed away having suffered from dementia. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home, because of its excellent service, and I thank the staff for the care and loving way they treated my wife.
Impressed with the location, having travelled a long way and not sure what to expect, I was immediately shown to my aunt's room by a very courteous and friendly nurse. The room was bright and full of all the equipment she would need at arm's length. During my visit nurses and the chef would appear regularly to check on her. Everything was done to make her feel safe and loved. My aunt was happy and comfortable and I left with the feeling that she was being very well cared for.
I must say that from the day my dad entered into Apsley, he was catered for with first-class care. His room is bright and airy and is very comfortable. Every single member of staff has been wonderful and have looked after my dad with professionalism and support. Obviously, the day we brought Dad here was very emotional and upsetting, but we know that he will be cared for, loved and offered a very supportive team to look after him. My thanks go out to the manager and her team for their continued support in looking after our lovely dad. Keep up the good work.
I am unable to comment on the activities and food and drink options because my husband was in need of full nursing care. The service for the three weeks he was in the home before he died was excellent. The staff were professional but so very caring and respectful. His room was bright, cosy and very welcoming. On the day of his death, we were so reassured by the supportive atmosphere and the presence of such capable staff. We cannot fault Apsley House and they gave my husband such a peaceful end.
Every single member of staff at Apsley are wonderful. They've catered for both my parents-in-law brilliantly... even though my father-in-law had very challenging behaviours. They applied first-rate one-to-one care for him. Cannot fault any one of them. And the manager is wonderful.
A five-star review from start to finish. The staff made my dad feel so welcome and treated him like they'd known him for years. My dad said that the food was two of the best meals he had ever eaten and his final day was absolutely perfect. The environment was homely, warm and very welcoming indeed. We can't thank everyone at Apsley House enough for making everything wonderful. My dad's final hours couldn't have been improved in any way.
In the short period of time in question, my wife and I received unquestionable tender, love and care in what was basically 'end-of-life nursing'. From the top to the bottom the staff at Apsley House were so kind and understanding that allowed my dear wife to have this life in peace and dignity. I cannot thank them all enough.
My mother-in-law was put into respite care, so we could have a break, however, it appeared that basic care was lacking, medication was not given correctly, a visitor noticed tablets in her mouth, and not being treated with respect. We had no choice but to remove her from the home, as the whole experience was having a negative impact on her health.
Excellent care and attention at all times.
Dad went to Apsley House Care Home for, what turned out to be, the last ten months of his life. He had dementia and become immobile which made it quite challenging to care for him but we always found the staff friendly and Dad had a laugh with them. He seemed to be well looked after and we were able to visit without too much notice and sometimes none. He was encouraged to join in activities but was not always keen to - the choice was his. The worry of his health and well-being during his last months was alleviated to a great extent by Apsley for which we are very grateful. He died aged 94.
Generally very happy with the staff, Dad's treatment and the care he received during his ten-month stay. Though he wouldn't admit it, he had a good time with the staff up until the end.
