View Full Details of Rustington HallWhen my friend came to Rustington Hall he had not been eating, had lost a lot of weight, and was rather poorly. The care and support that has been given by the staff has helped restore his health and well-being. He has settled well and is enjoying his stay.
I visited my friend over the Christmas period, although I visit every couple of months throughout the year. I have found the staff to be friendly and efficient. My friend loves it there and seems to think it's a hotel. I have always found the home to be spotlessly clean and always welcoming.
Since admission in August 2024, my friend was treated with kindness and respect together with receiving excellent care for her palliative clinical needs. She made friends, had fun, enjoyed the activities provided while also being able to have quiet time when she wished in her room. At the end of her life she chose to remain at Rustington Hall confident that she would not be alone. I have the utmost respect for the management and staff.
Rustington Hall staff are my extended family, my wonderful Mum was a resident here for 8 years until November 2024 when just before her 97th birthday she sadly passed away. I cannot speak highly enough of the care, attention, and love Mum was shown. She was quite a character and unique and she was happy. She would sing and make everyone laugh, the staff loved her outgoing personality and she will be missed. I was asked if I would still want to visit RH now we didn't have Mum anymore, I replied that if I didn't visit it would feel like another bereavement. I do go back and am welcomed with open arms, the staff are so lovely, and the care my dear Mum received all through her stay, and the kindness and compassion shown by the boys and gals during her final days is worthy of the highest award. Thank you to all, you are angels. With my love.
Excellent individualised care was given to my father. He was acutely grieving when he first moved in. All members of staff - maintenance, cleaners, nurses, kitchen staff, managers and activities coordinators - listen to his needs and facilitated him settling in and finding contentment. As family, we trusted he was safe and happy, being communicated with when required. Throughout his 18 months of care, his care needs were assessed and acted upon promptly e.g. when he needed hoisting. When he reached his end of life, he was cared for with skill, dignity and compassion. The kindness we as family received was exemplary.
I suppose that I am happy overall. I have no previous experience of a nursing home so did not know what to expect. Initial thoughts were, and still are, that it is a lot of money. Mum being in a nursing home has taken a lot of stress and worry away from us but there always seems to be something we are not happy with. We are not happy with the response times when Mum presses the buzzer, we have had a few issues with that. Sometimes, but not always, there are issues with cleanliness mainly in the bathroom. Mum is picky with food, much of the time the food is ok but sometimes the food that is presented is not at all appetising. I would like to be made more aware of what is going on. Often when members of the family visit we don't see anyone from the home at all. I feel there needs to be someone on Reception for more hours. I have stood outside for 5-10 minutes on more than one occasion. When asked if she is happy Mum says she is not unhappy. She says the staff are very kind to her.
We are very happy with my mum's care, the carers look after her very well and know her character as well as physical needs. Rustington Hall is a bright and cheerful place to be and there is always lots of activities.
My family and I can't thank you all enough for all your love and care you all give to our brother. He has been in Rustington Hall for three years and is happy, he joins in most of the activities and loves walking around the garden. We could not have found a better nursing home for him. We thank you all for your support.
A caring environment for an elderly relative - all staff from all departments contribute to the overall sense of harmony within the home. The cleaning and catering staff should be given a special mention for their outstanding kindness and thoughtfulness towards the residents. My father has nothing but admiration for their unfaltering work ethic.
The staff at Rustington Hall have always been exceptionally kind to both my father and to the family. He has been a resident there for over 18 months now and is very happy there. When he has been very unwell they have always been compassionate and caring to all of us and have facilitated additional support to my mother and myself when we wanted to be with Dad. The activities programme is varied and ensures that the residents are able to join in with exercises and fun things such as bowling and ballroom dancing.
Since my Aunt has been a resident at this home she seems a lot healthier and is looked after by the staff. Her personal care has improved. Just wish she would become more involved with the activities that are on offer.
My mum was a resident at Rustington Hall for the last weeks of her life. The care given to her was faultless - but the thing that impressed me the most was how friendly everyone at Rustington Hall was. As visitors, we the family, were made very welcome and felt reassured that Mum was being well cared for. Without exception the staff all seemed to genuinely care about the residents. Mum (who always enjoyed a chat) was visited frequently by the staff, and on arriving we would often find someone such as the cleaner in her room making sure that she was happy and spending time with her. The nursing care was first class, the meals (cooked on site) were fabulous, and Mum enjoyed that the activities would come to her in her room. Truly above and beyond our expectations.
The care home is very well run and has great staff and management who have the ability to provide residential or nursing care as needed. Communication is excellent. The reception is well organised and always friendly and very helpful. Nursing care is fabulous with a really competent caring nurse manager. end-of-life care is well planned for and the family is included. The activity program is outstanding with the staff going beyond expectations with regards to getting the residents out of the home for visits. The cleaning is excellent. The home encourages family to stay to eat with the residents but when we have done this we have been disappointed with the quality of the food. There is a large garden which someone has spent time in the past caring for but it looks a bit neglected nowadays. Would I be happy to be a resident here? Definitely.
A warm welcome is always waiting along with a happy atmosphere. Dad moved there in February 2023, as his needs got greater. I know he is well looked after and cared for. As well as caring for Dad their support is also available for all family members if needed. Residents appear to be content and carers are attentive. Great activities most days that allow residents to come together out of their rooms. Great gardens for a stroll or just to sit and soak up the sun!
Rustington Hall is very well managed with professional and caring staff. There are plenty of activities for the residents to participate and the staff are always friendly, helpful and caring. The residents are well looked after in terms of their health and well-being by qualified healthcare professionals.
The staff at Rustington Hall care for the whole family, not just the residents. My stepmother spent nearly 2 years as a resident, with my 94-year-old father visiting daily. I do not live locally, and he became a part of the Rustington Hall family, for which I am extremely grateful. Several of the managers and staff have worked there for many years and there is little use of agency carers. Any problems arising are dealt with promptly and help is given to obtain Nursing Funding Care to help with fees. Thank you to you all.
Yesterday I visited a very old friend who has been in the home for a few weeks. I visited with his wife. So very nice to see everyone so friendly and being such a support to them. They’ve had such an awful journey since June and never thought their loved one would be in a home at 71. Have known them for over 50 years. Also have been an RN for as long as that. I was very impressed with the surroundings. Clean, comfortable and not like a hotel more like their home. I saw his room which was very nice lots of up-to-date Manual Handling equipment. The portable equipment on the stairs for fire evacuation was impressive. All the staff I met were just so friendly. The residents appeared to be well looked after, calm and no one was agitated or calling out Such a different experience from the one I had with my late mother last year in a different home. Can’t believe the range of activities. Something for everyone. So important for everyone to have some fun including the staff.
My ex-sister-in-law and aunt to my sons, lived at Rustington Hall between June 2022 and September 2023 when she sadly passed away. She was extremely happy there and was looked after with superb care and shown love at all times. Her needs could be complex but she was given excellent support and understanding throughout her stay in all aspects. My sons and I have subsequently been tasked with handling her affairs and I can’t thank the home manager and his team enough for their kindness and assistance with our enquiries. We have been met with courtesy and understanding at all times and are highly impressed with Rustington Hall. I am very grateful that she spent the last fifteen months of her life at such a lovely home.
The care home is lovely, everyone is welcoming. Everyone made my dad's stay incredible. The rooms were lovely. The activities are great. He never felt alone, couldn't have asked for a better place and people. Thank you.
Staff and carers are very friendly and helpful towards visitors. The attention to helpless in-patients by the carers is 100%.
