View Full Details of Fulford Care and Nursing HomeFrom our first contact three weeks ago to my mother leaving today, the service given by Agincare / Fulford has been excellent. We first contacted Fulford when my mother was in hospital after a fall. We wanted a local home to provide temporary care while we sorted out her house. She lives close to Fulford so it was a natural choice so her neighbours could visit ( that said, I checked out alternatives in Littlehampton and Fulford was the best option anyway). The Portland Admin team have been very helpful throughout. The staff at Fulford itself have been very friendly and caring for my mum. She has now moved to "in home" care for a while before hopefully moving to daily visits. We have engaged Agincare for the in home care based on our experience at Fulford and will consider them for daily visits. The only negative comment relates to meals..my mother is a vegetarian but says on a number of occasions she was presented with a meal with meat. On each occasion, the meal was changed.;
The staff at Fulford Care are all so wonderful and caring. The home itself is welcoming and friendly, my father is a resident on the dementia wing and receives wonderful care. Each room is well equipped with personal belongings able to be brought in. The meals are of high standard and all freshly cooked.
My mum has been at Fulford care home for 2 years suffering with Alzheimer's, recently my dad has joined her suffering with Dementia. I can honestly say Fulford care home has been amazing. I would love to name them all. Reception, office, activities, carers, nurses, cleaning, catering, maintenance etc etc. Care homes sometimes get bad reviews but I can only speak from my heart knowing that my mum and dad are safe, happy and so well looked after and also loved. It's the hardest thing you have to do and heartbreaking knowing you can't cope anymore and keep them safe but I can honestly say I have no regrets. A care home is only as good as the staff they have and they are truly amazing. My advice would be work with the staff as they are the one's who will know the issues facing your parent/brother/sister etc. Thank you Fulford for everything you have done for my mum and dad and for me to.
Fulford Care Home have been all we could have wished for looking after our mother. She is well looked after and happy and all the staff have helped to make this so. We have been kept aware of everything that is happening both with her personally and in the home generally both with individual notifications and group meetings.
Have been going there most days since 25th September 2024. Everything is so well run. Very pleased.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. My sister is very happy here.
Very attentive team, helpful, supportive, positive and engaging. Food is good, entertainment is well organised.
Very friendly (my angels) all the staff. Meals are good. I feel very relaxed. Homely.
My mother came to live at Fulford nearly two years ago, as my father had died and she was unable to live on her own due to age and mobility issues. I phoned round a few care homes in the area, none of which seemed bothered, but Fulford immediately showed interest and compassion, and I knew this was the one! She now lives in a lovely room, surrounded by her own possessions, and is very well cared for. She loves all the staff and carers, who come by for a chat when they can, and I know she is in good hands. When we came to visit recently she told us she is very happy living at Fulford, and is glad we found it for her.
Thank you for looking after our mum since October 2022. Mum's care has been exemplary. She suffered for many years with leg ulcers and despite three visits a week to the GP, her legs never improved. When she came to Fulford Care and Nursing Home, with your care and attention, they healed completely. Mum was never one to spend time by herself. Her life revolved around the family, her garden and her dog. To see mum with her beautiful hair plaited and nail polish on was something we never thought we'd see! She loved the time she spent with you, joining in all the activities. During mum's last few weeks you took care of our whole family and at times there were a lot of us! The supply of drinks, sandwiches and superb dinners meant we could spend quality time with our mum/nan. It's impossible to name members of the Fulford Family who have been so outstanding because it applies to everyone. You have all played your part in taking care of our lovely mum and we will be forever grateful.
My mother-in-law was 91 years of age living on her own doing well then she was diagnosed with dementia which changed everything drastically. It became clear she could not cope on her own any longer even with carers twice a day from her previous home care provider. The Fulford Care Home was mentioned and everything changed again. From the very beginning of being shown around the home and actually signing up for her care package, we were helped all the way along by friendly and helpful people. She has now been there for eleven months and we are delighted with everything done for her. I thank all of you.
My mum moved to Fulford 2+ years ago she did not like it there to start with but that soon changed. She found all the staff very friendly and looked after her very well. Then we got that call to make our way to her bedside, the day and night staff looked after me and my brother as well as our mum as much tea, coffee, biscuits sandwiches and toast as we needed. They could not do enough for us. Mum was very well looked after and listened to in her time there. I would recommend this home to anyone. Every time I went there I was made to feel welcome from everyone there.
During my mum's end-of-life care the management and staff discussed all my mum's needs and ensured as a family our last few days with Mum were treated with kindness. They went above and beyond to ensure we were able to spend time with our mum which meant so much to us as a family.
Mum was a resident at Fulford from 2019-2024. From the onset, Mum and the family were made welcome by all the staff. The care for all residents was evident and heartening upon our arrival and sustained every time we saw Mum over the four years. Mum often said how happy she was at Fulford and made friends with so many staff. When Mum passed peacefully at Fulford the staff and manager were so empathetic, a truly high-quality nursing home. I'm so pleased they accepted Mum, thank you.
My mother is the most important person in my life, and I was her main carer until she was admitted to the hospital in early October until she arrived at Fulford three weeks ago. It was very hard for me initially, but the manager and staff were so kind, gentle and reassuring. My mother is the happiest she has been in a while, loves living in Fulford and loves all the staff. I can relax knowing my mother is cared for and totally happy and at peace (Mother's word).
When dad took a tumble the staff at Fulford looked after him swiftly and professionally. The paramedic who attended later was full of praise for how the staff had handled the situation and dressed his wounds. Thank you all.
It was a hard decision to place Mum in a care home. We are delighted with the care, humour and time Mum is given by various carers throughout the day. Care at night is vital to her and given professionally. The homemade food is excellent and she enjoys being able to make choices. I feel I can go home, knowing she is being cared for.
What an amazing place. My brothers and I are so glad we found Fulford Care and Nursing Home and are forever grateful for the care our Mum received. The atmosphere was always a happy one and we received updates regularly and without requesting them. I didn’t really want Mum to go into a care home and had little choice, but Fulford Care and Nursing Home made it so much easier as I knew Mum was getting really good care from genuinely caring people. I will always remember the wonderful upbeat staff who made this difficult time a happy experience for my Mum, always going above and beyond to make life a party! They always had time to talk about Mum. Thank you to all the staff at Fulford Care and Nursing Home for your kindness to both Mum and myself, you are truly wonderful people.
My mother was admitted to Fulford Care and Nursing Home from 29th May to 16th June, within that time the girls who were caring for her was fantastic, the help and service for my mother contributed to her leaving for home after 3 weeks of being admitted. Full credit to the staff who looked after her.
My mother loves it here, she is positively thriving. The staff are friendly and efficient. Food is good and plentiful. There are lots of activities taking place and a lovely courtyard to sit in and enjoy the sunshine. The staff have worked tirelessly to keep the residents and themselves safe during the pandemic which our family is eternally grateful for.
