View Full Details of Truscott Manor Care HomeSecurity and safeguarding generally food. The staff ID badges could add an extra budget-friendly layer of security. Impressively funds not wasted trying to impress visitors too much. I have to assume that the fabric of the building is safe. Good variety of activities. Christmas party 2024 is brilliant! The staff was friendly and welcoming. They are polite and good-humoured engaging with residents and visitors alike. Vegetarian food is limited and uninspiring. Research and imagination could greatly improve the variety and nourishment of these meals and not necessarily increase the budget. Some areas for improvement but generally the care 'element' care; well done.
Our mother was a resident of Truscott Manor for just over two months, following her discharge from hospital. She was suffering from dementia and her mobility was severely impaired. During that time, she received care of the very highest standard from all of the professional and dedicated staff, until her recent passing. We are consoled in the knowledge that her last weeks were spent in a warm and caring environment, where the nursing and care teams looked after her every need with kindness, understanding, dignity and compassion. Our sincere gratitude goes to everyone, (management, nurses, carers, catering staff etc.), for all their help and support at a most difficult time.
My beloved wife required palliative care and was admitted to Truscott Manor in April where she was to spend the last six months of her life. We couldn't have hoped for a greater level of 24-hour attention that she received from all levels of staff (nurses, carers, cleaners, kitchen, laundry, admin, etc.) during her stay. At all times care was provided with a level of professionalism, understanding and compassion that was of great comfort to my wife (and me) at a very difficult time. I have nothing but the greatest gratitude and respect for everybody at Truscott Manor who were involved in the care of my late wife, whereby she was able to spend her final months in dignity and comfort.
Excellent care home. All carers are very kind. Always welcoming. Beautifully clean. Thank you. Only one thing is not enough accessibility to the garden, needs a path for wheelchair users. Would be a huge benefit for service users and visitors.
What makes this a special home is the entire staff. They are amazing! Nothing is too much trouble for them. Always smiling and friendly. The nursing care is wonderful. Mum has been very well cared for throughout. A nice clean home with no unpleasant smells and set in beautiful grounds.
My father has been at Trusscott Manor for nearly 2 years. In all that time I have found his care has been excellent. He will be 99 in April. I have found all the staff to be very good at their tasks and always friendly to me, my family and most important of all my Father.
No stimulation, no encouragement to integrate, nothing, absolutely nothing, it's an absolute travesty of neglect. I outlined the dangers of no staff in the room. Alert pads were in place when I gave advanced, "warning" of my visit but when I just popped in, they were nowhere to be seen. I am not surprised that visits must now be booked in advance which, I cannot do, hiding any form of lacking in care is abuse!
My husband has only been a resident for two weeks. During that time, both he and myself have been treated with courtesy and kindness, and made to feel welcome. The grounds at the back are a real joy for those hoping to spot wildlife - foxes and deer in particular, and there is a panoramic view from the lounge window. The staff are always friendly and treat all residents with care and dignity. The only issue I have had is with the laundry - possibly partly my fault for relying on marker pen instead of sewing in name tapes! A real bind but worth it in the long run, as a 'permanent' marker washes out very quickly. Personal care and cleanliness are treated as high priority for all residents so far as I can tell. All in all, I am happy for my husband to be at Truscott Manor - the building may be old, but the staff more than make up for it.
To whole it may concern, my mother has had excellent care for the past approximately 10 years.
The staff are very friendly and helpful to my friend. The home is clean and welcoming. The setting and the grounds are lovely. The reception staff are particularly helpful and very friendly and welcoming.
All of the staff are very kind and caring. They are open and honest about my dad's needs and the progression of his dementia. Dad is well looked after which means I don't worry about him between visits.
Mum has been living at Truscott Manor since October 2021 when she was discharged there from hospital during the pandemic without much say from us, her family. Though the choice of home was out of our hands, Truscott has proven itself to be a calm and compassionate environment with very high standards of nursing and care. The nurses do a great job in getting to know the individual needs and issues for each resident and we are consulted on anything that the medical staff feel is relevant or needs monitoring. All staff across the board seem to have a caring attitude and take an interest individually in the residents - whether they are managers, nurses, carers, cleaners, admin or kitchen staff. The activities for residents have increased since the end of the pandemic and the activities manager and staff in general work really hard to foster engagement and put on social events, including summer events in the lovely garden.
I have found all the staff to be very friendly and obliging. They have gone out of their way to be helpful and accommodate the new challenges that seem to come up often. They do this in a relaxed way, which is appreciated by us when they do have so many roles to fulfil.
My mother has been a resident of Truscott Manor for 10 years. She has received excellent care from the very friendly staff. All her care needs are met and she remains generally well. If on occasion she becomes unwell I am usually kept informed. Truscott is always clean and tidy. Overall, in my experience, I believe Truscott Manor to be a home that I would happily recommend.
My dad was here for palliative care, and he spoke highly of the staff and of the building itself. The staff were always polite, helpful, caring and professional whenever I spoke with them. I was kept updated and was spoken to with kindness and understanding. Thank you to everyone there for making the time my dad had, comfortable and not alone.
As we arrived at Truscott's front door, we briefly chatted to a family who had just lost their loved one, a resident for 18 months. They had nothing but praise for the team and felt they'd given their relative the best possible care. I too have nothing but praise and gratitude. We are six months into our journey and one-half of the couple has passed away at the home. I was there at the time and the whole process was handled exceedingly well. Our much loved remaining relative is nearing her end but always has beautifully combed hair and is lovingly tucked in blankets. The staff have love in their hearts and wisdom about life that the rest of us could do well to learn from.
Truscott Manor is a lovely home, staff are friendly and always keep me informed in case of any problems or challenging circumstances. When I visit my sister, she is usually quiet but content. Her care is very good. My ultimate desire is for her to feel and be happy. I would willingly recommend this home to my colleagues and friends.
Mum was a resident at Truscott Manor for a year and a half. During this time, she was always treated with kindness, respect and professionalism by all members of staff. The nursing home is well run by the nursing managers, who are always available, if you need them. The environment is homely and not corporate, with beautiful dining rooms and gardens which are well looked after. My brother also fell ill during this time and he too chose Truscott Manor for his care. His needs were complex and the carers and nurses were all exceptionally well-trained and capable to look after him. Again, their kindness and professionalism prevailed. Thank you Truscott for all your help, it is so much appreciated and your staff are one in a million.
The team are doing a great job, Mum now knows the carers by name and is settled. Her care needs have changed and developed and the staff have been very good at adapting in just the right measure to help Mum feel supported but not overly 'fussed over'. The team have a good relationship with the local GP and assist with getting involvement when required, to keep medication appropriate avoiding over medication or just adding new by encouraging reviews. The home offers good space and has lovely grounds with wildlife that the residents can see all year round from the lounge or enjoy in warmer weather. Mum has also got to know many of the other residents and has her routines with different groups.
My mother is in Truscott Manor Home following a number of falls which meant she could not look after herself. She is nearly 98, completely deaf with poor eyesight and a type 1 diabetic. I am very pleased with the care she is receiving and the staff are very professional and helpful. If there are any problems, they contact me very quickly. She seems quite happy there and I can recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a caring home for their relations.
