View Full Details of Barchester Westlake House Care HomeI was admitted to Westlake House Care Home for respite care after a fall at home when I needed hospital treatment. My husband had been a resident at Westlake House Care Home for nine months, so my family knew I would receive very good care. I am now a permanent resident.
Our mum is currently a resident at Barchester Westlake House Care Home and had been for nine months following two weeks respite care. The home is always welcoming, extremely clean, warm bright and sunny. The staff are also very welcoming, caring, available to answer any queries etc. The residents are encouraged to dine together, if able, in the dining room. The food is always plentiful and flavoursome. There are activities daily which residents are taken to if unable to manage themselves. Westlake is not the nearest home to us however it was and is an excellent choice which I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone. There has also been a new manager appointed in our time, her door is 'always open' and the manager is an asset to the team along with the admin assistant, home administrator and the whole nursing team and carers. Mum is currently very poorly but I have peace of mind knowing she is cared for as well as I could if possible. Thank you to you all.
My father received two months of hospice care at Barchester Westlake House Care Home. The staff provided an incredibly high standard of care to ensure he was comfortable during his final moments. The family were able to spend many hours in the beautiful sunny garden with him. He enjoyed the delicious food and friendly atmosphere. Westlake House made such a difference to our family and I thank them deeply for going above and beyond in caring for my father. Their support meant that we made many precious memories at a very difficult and painful time.
The staff and home were very inviting. Reception area was bright and welcoming. Everywhere looked clean and comfortable for residents and there is a good mix of outings and recreation. Had a lunch there and the food was good. My brother is being well cared for and seems very content.
My friend spent his last three months under your outstanding care and he couldn't have been in better hands. Although rather grumpy by nature, he appreciated what was being done for him. Thank you all for your kindness to him under these difficult circumstances.
A really positive, friendly environment. Well-run with a "can do" attitude. Clean, well-kept environment. Care and attention given to welfare. Amazing positive care staff, considerable effort applied to food. Health and safety procedures top-rate.
Great care home, very friendly and helpful. Always able to get hold of someone if needed. Highly recommended, my mother seems to have settled in very well.
Barchester Westlake House Care Home and all care staff are wonderful. Mum receives excellent care with humanity and respect. All in care are encouraged to get involved in the social events and to make friends if they want to but are not forced to. I would highly recommend Westlake House.
The staff at Barchester Westlake House Care Home are so very friendly, we couldn't ask for better care. The home is beautifully clean and the food was yummy. They are compassionate with the care they give to people they are caring for. We can't thank them enough.
Our mum came here needing a lot of care and all the staff have been there to help and support over the last few months, keeping us informed every step of the way, nothing was too much for them, always there to help in any way that they could to make Mum comfortable and in no pain.
Very kind, friendly, caring staff. Always clean and fresh with very thorough housekeeping staff.
An excellent place where my Mother is extremely happy and has settled very well. The staff are amazing/ Nothing is too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend Westlake House.
My father is looked after exceptionally well. His safety, well-being and care are not only catered for amazingly, but over and beyond our expectations. The nurses, carers and all the staff are wonderfully kind. The food is excellent! The room is kept spotlessly clean and his laundry is returned quickly and is always perfect. The activities are always a highlight of the day! Thank you Westlake. So much.
Mum came to Westlake for respite care following a hospital stay. She's been a permanent resident for 2yrs now. We've found staff cares for Mum with empathy, dignity, and respect. Mum benefits from easy access to multi-agency support from the wider community NHS team, including community mental health support, community matron, audiologist, GP, and optician. There is a holistic focus on wellbeing and Mum enjoys her hairdresser and chiropody appointments and looks forward to the daily entertainment [especially musicians/singers]. The Westlake team has made day-to-day living achievable and enjoyable for Mum and has given peace of mind to the family, as well as supported a quality of life for Mum, we couldn’t achieve at home. From my first visit, I observed healthy interactions between the staff team and residents, speaking with kindness and respect. There is always a friendly welcome from the team and time to talk about Mum’s care. Mum now feels cared for and looks forward to each day.
I visited Barchester Westlake House Care Home, Horsham, in December along with several members of the town band. One of our long-serving band members is currently a resident in the care home and we thought it would be a lovely surprise for him if we visited to play a selection of Christmas carols. I cannot praise the staff at Westlake House enough, right from the very first phone call to arrange the visit, the communication regarding where and when to play on the day and organising the mini concert - everyone was so helpful. The reception we received from staff and audience was fantastic, Needless to say, our ex-band member was very surprised to see some of his friends again and I’m sure our mini concert will be remembered for a long time. The town band play at many events throughout the year and I can honestly say this was one of the nicest, most appreciative venues we have ever performed. Thank you, we will be back!
I cannot speak too highly of the care and consideration given both to my husband and to me as a visitor. The staff are very caring and make us both feel as though we really matter to them as people with feelings.
I'm very pleased with the care and Dad is settled and happy. He is fond of the staff.
My friend came to Westlake House late in 2022. My first and lasting impression is how caring and responsible the staff are towards their residents. Occasionally, I have had the opportunity to have lunch, and this has been very good. I, myself, had issues not long ago, so the range of food is ideal for me also. So in short, a full house of stars and long may they shine.
Lovely experiences at Westlake House, friendly staff and warm welcoming facilities. I highly recommend Westlake House. My friend is well looked after. We have nothing but praise for Westlake House. I always enjoy visiting the home.
My mother moved from hospital into Barchester Westlake House Care Home for only a short period of three weeks for her end of life care. Albeit for only this brief time the staff were superb, the care and support provided by the management and both nursing and care staff was exceptional making those final few days comforting both for mum and our family. Thank you Westlake House you were marvellous, we can't thank you enough.
