View Full Details of Yew Tree Nursing HomeMy mum, aged 96, has just passed away after having spent two very happy years at Yew Tree. She moved in after my dad sadly passed away. She has a lovely, quiet ground-floor room and was well looked after by all of the staff.
My wife and I have been extremely pleased with the way our Aunt was cared for since her admission in January 2020. The care and kindness shown to her by all the staff was exemplary and there was always a warm welcome when we were able to visit. The year was very difficult for all, but the staff were outstanding in all they did. The activities provided were very good and did motivate our Aunt to participating in some things which previously she would not have done. We cannot commend the Home highly enough and were grateful that our Aunt ended her days in such a lovely and homely place.
For the last 8 days of my husband's life, the care and attention he received was excellent. I was very impressed with the kindness of one carer in particular, as although my husband was started to keep him calm and pain-free, she chose to sit and read to him knowing how much he had enjoyed reading.
My aunt was at Yew Tree for about 18 months. The care she received there was so caring and with so much kindness. The staff were wonderful to me and my aunt whenever I called or visited when I could. Always willing to help and answer any questions I had. I have to say the home manager, in particular, went above and beyond in her kindness to me. This has been a particularly hard year this year with the pandemic but the manager and the staff were always there with a cheery greeting. I thank you all so much for the care and the love you gave to my aunt in her last days.
My mother has lived at Yew Tree Nursing Home for eight years until her death at 104 years. The care throughout was excellent. I visited her twice a week to join in many a session with Mum be it, music man, exercise man, others birthdays or indeed her own. All activities were given with care and consideration to residents' needs (of varying disabilities). She always seemed very happy and content. At her death, it was at lockdown time, (I was also self-isolating). A carer/nurse from the home phoned me at the last moments of Mum's life, holding her hand to the very end.
My mum was taken to Yew Tree Nursing Home requiring 24-hour care in September 2016 after six weeks in the stroke ward at the hospital. She remained at Yew Tree for the last three and a half years of her life and died there on Thursday 19th March. Their care of her was exemplary, but it was the love they showed her that made all the difference, and I cannot praise them highly enough.
My mother was only a resident of Yew Tree Nursing Home for a short period and I am glad that we chose this particular Nursing Home for the final days of her life. The care, thoughtfulness and professionalism shown by all the staff was wonderful and she was made comfortable to the end. We visited very regularly and we always received a warm welcome and made to feel like one of the family in the atmosphere that has been created there. I thank you all very much.
My sister had Down's Syndrome and when she was diagnosed with dementia 11 years ago the social services moved her to Yew Tree Nursing Home. Her carers advised me to move her nearer to my home but my sister told me she liked it here (at Yew Tree) and I like my carers, so I drove to visit her once or twice a week. The staff at Yew Tree Nursing Home have all been very kind to my sister's husband who also has down's syndrome when he visited. I visited my sister for ten and a half years until she died.
My Father went into Yew Tree Care Home in June 2016. My Father passed away on April 11, 2018, spending approximately 20 months at Yew Tree. My Mother and I have enjoyed visiting him on a very regular basis and were always welcomed. The room was always clean and my Fathers care was superb, every member of staff were always very polite. I was very sad to see my Father go into a home but the staff at Yew Tree made this journey much easier and the staff were extremely welcoming to my Mother when she went on her own. I would not hesitate to recommend Yew Tree to friends and family.
