View Full Details of Amberley Hall Care HomeAll Amberley staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. All staff always have a smile and always speak to everyone. Very helpful and professional. Nursing care is excellent and communication regarding any concerns are always conveyed in a professional and friendly way. Overall I would recommend Amberley Hall to anyone. Well done to all staff you all do a fantastic job.
I was discharged from hospital in King's Lynn just before Christmas and needed 2 weeks 'convalescence care' before returning home. My stay covered Christmas and New Year. I was immediately made to feel welcome at Amberley Hall. All the staff were warm, kind, friendly and efficient and always there when needed. My room was spacious and comfortable, overlooking a well-kept patio garden. My vegetarian diet was an initial challenge for the kitchen. But, after negotiating with the head chef, we worked out a menu which suited me. Other small wrinkles were efficiently smoothed out by the management. I really enjoyed my stay and will return there, if necessary.
My Mum was provided with a placement at Amberley Hall having had a really bad experience of care home neglect at another placement. This poor care resulted in Mum being hospitalised and as a result, caused us to have massive anxieties about entrusting anyone else to look after Mum to the standard deserved. From the general manager to the reception staff, the laundry staff, the attentive carers and the nursing staff, they were absolutely phenomenal in not only welcoming Mum, but in caring for her with the compassion, dignity, and humility that any family strives for on behalf of their loved one. They treated Mum like one of their own and were so empathetic in reassuring us as a family that Mum was in good hands at all times. We visited Mum regularly and on each occasion, we were reassured to see that she was offered regular snacks between meals and was always well-presented, clean and well looked after. Even down to the 'small things' like listening to our tips on how to interact with Mum.
Amberley Hall accepted my father, who has severe dementia and very specialist needs, from hospital after a fall. We were worried as we had read that the home was under special measures and my Dad is hard to look after and can be aggressive during personal care. We were assured that the home could meet his needs and when we arrived it had a friendly feel. It became obvious quite quickly that they were not able to deal with him. I arrived at 10am one morning to find him lying on a mattress, no sheets or blankets and just a nappy and dirty shirt on. I found help and 4 people appeared to get him dressed and make his bed. After this, and on 3 consecutive days my Dad was put in an ambulance on his own to go to A&E. Instead of speaking to us as family and explaining that they couldn't cope with him or contacting the hospital, they put a vulnerable person who doesn't know where he is in an ambulance on his own to go to A&E. This was a horrendous experience and very upsetting for everyone.
Absolutely fabulous, professional and caring nursing staff, right to the very end. Because they all took the time to get to know my friend very well, it was a great comfort to me, that they knew what he needed when he needed it, I will miss the bond I formed with the staff and the caring and loving atmosphere they provided my friend and my family, his family and friends who came to visit right up to the end of his life. We're all so very blessed and very much appreciate this type of loving care and comfort, towards the end of our friend's life.
Amberley Hall and all the staff have been extremely welcoming. They have gone above and beyond to help my Dad settle in. The communication is good and all the staff make you feel like part of one big family. My dad is extremely happy with the food and care he receives.
Mum has spent three and a half years at Amberley Hall. She had dementia and she could not have been looked after better. The staff were great. My mum passed last night (7/8/24) at the home. The end-of-life care was very good. They made Mum as comfortable as possible. Many of the staff sat with her. I will recommend Amberley Hall; the staff have been brilliant. Thanks.
Our mother has been wonderfully cared for at Amberley Hall. It is a relaxed cheerful comfortable and safe place. The staff are very respectful and caring and she enjoys living there. Mother has been at Amberley Hall for 16 months. Her weight has improved and her health.
I have always found Amberley to be a friendly place. The carers go above and beyond to understand and provide the best for residents. Housekeeping and maintenance too. Staff are always approachable and willing to listen to work with me to enable us both to give my husband the best care possible.
Amberley Hall is my dad's home since late 2021. Every time I visit he tells me how happy he is and how kind everyone is. He loves the food and the music. He loves to sing and to play the piano. He enjoys watching films in the cinema room and is very well looked after. He always tells me "I couldn't be anywhere better than this" and never complains about anything. The home is clean and yet still homely with dedicated staff. Thank you for your kindness and care for my dad. I really appreciate it.
I discovered that children had checked many of the care homes in the locality and decided this was the most acceptable. I was doubtful, having no experience and was delighted with the conditions, rooms, outlook, etc. almost immediately. I have since been delighted with the support, advice, guidance and help with most of the every day jobs and kindness, affection and pleasantness of almost all of the staff has been amazing. Obviously some of the other residents leave a lot to be desired but their obvious condition is, or has to be a very big consideration. I hope I can stay for a while longer.
Our mum was very happy at Amberley. She resided on Windsor and Buckingham and had good kind care during the last year of her life. Thank you to all. One member of staff in particular and her colleagues in the laundry were very kind finding all Mum's misplaced clothes too! Thank you all.
I am delighted to see that my mother is now regularly taken outside of her bedroom. She loves nothing more than being taken (she's in a wheelchair) to the local shops or round the block for a short outing. This morning she was introduced to a snake, tarantula, gecko, tree frog and cockroach. She enjoys singing too! The activities team deserve a pat on the back for new initiatives. Excellent!
My granny is happy on the Balmoral Ward. She enjoys the meals and most activities however there is sometimes not enough staff to keep people out of her room. She has had a few things go missing from her bedroom. Her room is always clean but she sometimes doesn't feel safe around the other residents (a man urinated on her floor). To improve, it would be good to see more staff at all times and have managers more easy to contact.
Mum is happy and settled. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, Mum has complained of being bored at weekends and I'm concerned about the lack of staffing. I ended up on the unit with no staff about at one point.
A modern, purpose-built care home, very well-equipped and with a spacious hotel-like reception area with good facilities. Very friendly, capable and efficient staff. Nursing care and attention 100%. Very clean and well-run. Recommended.
I'm so pleased that my cousin is being looked after securely and with such care. The staff are all a credit to Amberley, and I've not experienced any animosity, only a willingness to help in every situation. My cousin is so happy with the food and help with showering, etc. I have no concerns about my cousin staying here, only positive thoughts.
Things I like - food, staff, tidy, clean gardens. I'm pleased that I moved into Ambelery Hall, and I feel safe and well looked after.
From the first night of my arrival at Amberley Hall, I have received first-class care and attention from all staff. The meals have been tasty and looked good on arrival and there isn't one thing I can find fault with.
I spent 15 nights at Amberley Hall on a rehabilitation course. My mobility and ability to look after myself improved greatly during my time there.
