View Full Details of Brooklands Care HomeMy mum became a resident in January 2024. Unfortunately, she was confined to bed. The staff at Brooklands Care Home were incredibly caring, Mum, myself and other family members were treated like part of the larger Brooklands family. All of Mum's needs were met, including nursing care towards the end. If you're looking for a clean, well-managed, residential care home staffed by people who really care, then look no further.
Mum's been at Brooklands since 2016. I'm continually grateful we found such a lovely home for her. There's much to say about Brooklands. Standards go way beyond the usual care home when it comes to the feel of the place, the location (lovely views), activities, contemporary decor, etc. But it's the staff that really makes it stand out. It feels like one big family. Everyone working there is kind, friendly, warm and very welcoming. Mum is very happy. Thank you all!
My mother has been a resident here for about two years. She settled in straight away, mainly because of the very friendly atmosphere and fabulous staff. She was living at home on her own and it was becoming increasingly apparent that she was having problems looking after herself because of her short-term memory lapses. We first had carers coming in but she would only accept one lady and when she was on holiday we had a problem. So Mum came and stayed with me but that soon became difficult as we live on a first-floor flat. So the search began, we looked at several places but after a visit, Brooklands Care Home stood out from the crowd.
Since my husband entered Brooklands Care Home due to increasing problems with his dementia he has received excellent and loving care, all to an extremely high professional standard. The home is always clean and welcoming to visitors, and family are supported in what is a very difficult time. As a family, we would not hesitate in recommending Brooklands to anyone in need of care for a friend or family member.
Lots of changes! My mum has lived here for 8 years and over the past few months there have been lots of changes. Hopefully moving forward things will settle down again, to the calm, fun, loving Brooklands we all know and love.
Treetops have been kind and compassionate in their care and are skilled at caring for residents who have dementia. I could not have found a better place for my father. They also have been supportive of the family.
Our very close family friend was placed in Brooklands Care Home just before Christmas 2023 to fulfil the need for emergency respite when her husband was admitted to hospital for emergency surgery. He was her sole carer as she had been becoming increasingly muddled and forgetful over the last two years and as they had no family, she found herself very much alone. Her husband sadly passed away in March this year so she has had a tremendous amount to take on board and deal with. The fantastic staff at Brooklands have worked tirelessly with her and have managed to completely bring her out of her shell. She has made some amazing new friends with them and on every visit, she looks and sounds so much better than we have seen her for a long, long time. Well done everyone! You provide a beautiful, clean, caring home for residents, families and friends. We appreciate you all so much.
I appreciate the friendliness of all the staff and their efficiency regarding the needy residents on floor 2. My husband likes reading but please make sure his bed is in a suitable, inclined position to make it easier. As regards having a meal in my husband’s room (he is bed-bound), I would do it now and again if they could be free of charge, as happens in some care homes, given the overall cost of staying in Brooklands Care Home. There have been a few occasions when parking has been a problem.
Brooklands Care Home feels like an actual home, not a care home. All the staff are absolutely fantastic and there are lots of activities for the people who live there. The only thing I would like to see is for more people to be involved in the activities. The photos on social media usually show the same few people. I'd like to see more done to see the others involved, more encouragement to get them involved. Apart from that one aspect, we are so happy that we found you for Mum.
The care provided appears to be excellent. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful at all times. Nothing is too much trouble. A great team! As a large family we all have been welcomed into the home and are able to visit when we wish. To have both parents in the home was our main aim and we were able to achieve this with the help of your team. Thank you.
Lovely care home with lovely staff. Everyone is very approachable, nice atmosphere. They are always finding ways to keep the residents occupied, and families are always very welcome. Visiting them makes me consider going into care work myself.
Both of my parents have been treated with care and dignity since arriving at Brooklands. The home is always clean, and the staff are always welcoming. Any concerns are addressed immediately, and we are kept informed of any issues.
Dad lives with a ‘happy’ dementia. I am continuously impressed by everyone at Brooklands. Nothing is too much trouble, and both personal care and engagement are first-class. The staff working within Tree Tops are amazing. Their dedication and genuine care are to be admired. The manager at the home accompanied my dad to his granddaughter's wedding, highlighting leadership, compassion and real vocational value.
I have found Brooklands Care Home to be a nice place for my mother to reside at. The staff that I come into contact with when I visit are all polite and caring to the residents. But in saying that I have had to raise 2 issues concerning my mum's care recently one that has not I believe to have been sorted. Overall I am happy for Mum to reside at Brooklands.
My mother in her life was a confident but very private individual. She went into Brooklands in November 2021 and experienced lockdown, meaning she could have no visitors and she herself tested positive twice, but no symptoms. She died there unexpectedly last week. Her care had been excellent. In her latter years whilst not able to enjoy much mobility and spending much of her time in her individual room, she did enjoy the lifestyle activities and events, entertainment and celebrations (trip to the beach, queens jubilee and Christmas events etc) greatly. All the staff are very caring, committed people and show excellent interpersonal qualities and skills on an everyday basis, caring relating to and loving the individual residents. There is a lovely welcoming feel to Brooklands and its facilities are very good indeed for people spending their final years. Whilst my mother was not an overly social individual, we are delighted we entrusted her to Brooklands for her final 16 months and for the exemplary care and love Brooklands provided, including to me as her son, on her dying unexpectedly - but from old age and wit her life's work over 91 years very well done.
Mum is very well cared for by staff that really care. Wherever we walk into the home, staff will greet her by name and show real warmth towards her. It appears that all the staff at Brooklands are involved with the care of the residents, treating them with kindness and dignity. Mum has Alzheimer's, which limits her ability to do many things, however, she is still involved in a lot of the many activities that are arranged for residents. It is great to see her face in many of the photos taken and shared.
Mum has been living at Brooklands for a year now. Despite not being the most sociable of people, she knows the regular, long-standing and has got to know many other residents on her floor. By offering such a wide range of activities mum has even been tempted to join in a couple of events. The majority of staff are always kind and helpful. Mum has a few special favourites!
My mum has only recently been a resident as her original care home closed down. So far, I am more than satisfied with her care. Things are improving all the time, she now has a named care provider, which is always helpful. Mum is also starting to settle, she struggled at first but is slowly settling. I am most grateful to the team for taking care of her. Thank you.
My friend has been a resident for a few months. I visit her once a week. I also visit three other friends who are, unfortunately, not at Brooklands, so I have experienced other care homes. Brooklands is a very special home. The facilities, care and friendliness are exceptional. I am grateful that my friend has the privilege of being a resident at Brooklands.
My mother has been in full-time care for the past nine years. We have had to move her on several occasions because of poor care. Since she has been at Brooklands we have, at last, been able to relax in the knowledge that she is in good hands. Without exception, the carers and managers have been kind and attentive and the home is well-run and spotlessly clean. I don't think we've ever had a single complaint. Thank you Brooklands.
