View Full Details of Goodwins Hall Care HomeAfter having a hip replacement I was discharged home then unfortunately had a fall, after leaving A & E I was very fortunate to be transferred to Goodwins Hall Care Home for rehab. The home made me most welcome and I was impressed with the quality of care that I received. All the staff, from all departments were kind, understanding and always willing to help no matter how small my needs were. The building itself was bright and clean (like a 5-star hotel) I consider myself very fortunate to have been a guest.
Wow is all I can say about the experience Mum had at Goodwins Hall Care Home. The staff, the care, the physio and the food were all exceptional. Thank you again for the care and support you gave Mum whilst she was with you. In need of respite care in the future Goodwins would be our first choice every time!
The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. They kept my mother safe.
My next of kin was at Goodwins for just under 18 years. During this time she was well cared for and loved by the staff and she embraced being there by partaking in all the activities they offered. Excellent choice of activities. It is a testament that she was there for 18 years considering her disabilities and health issues. At times there were staff shortages, but when pointed out these were addressed.
My aunt aged 99 could no longer manage on her own. She went into Goodwins for a trial period of 2 weeks and decided she would live there. Management were outstanding in accommodating her. Although missing her home, she has settled well and is enjoying being cared for. Meals are good and she thinks the carers are amazing. All in all, it has been a very successful move!
Excellent care by everyone. Excellent food and help from the chef. Brilliant physio from one of the staff who has been a great support. All staff have been really kind and patient.
I was treated well during my stay, both medically and caring. The staff at all grades were all kind, considerate helpful and encouraging. The physio team certainly helped me immensely with exercises to get me walking, and activating my body generally so as to come home, for which I am very grateful. The staff were friendly, offering facilities for patients to enjoy but also respectful of your privacy as well. Sometimes meals were ok and if ask was given something more. My summing up for a relatively short stay was very helpful in all respects. Thank you all so much.
Mum has been at Goodwins Hall just over a year 25/5/2023. She enjoys being in the home, and she is safe and looked after. She enjoys the activities recent trip to the zoo.
For the last eight years, my mother has lived in this stylish care home surrounded by a beautiful garden. She has always received excellent quality care, and the staff are friendly, supportive, and willing to respond to any concerns. I am confident that my mother is safe and loved.
My mum was transferred from hospital to Goodwins Hall for rehabilitation including physiotherapy. The staff are fantastic, all the care for my mum has been outstanding. Would highly recommend Goodwins Hall.
My Mum is a resident at Goodwins Hall and has always received great care. The team are fully aware of her needs and always cares for her with professionalism, respect and compassion. They're also always friendly and cheery and are not bad singers and dancers too! Highly recommended.
Mum became a resident at Goodwins Hall last Easter, after a period of respite first. It wasn't a move she ever expected to make but she gradually settled with the support of the staff there. With the use of her wheelchair I have on occasions taken Mum downstairs to the main reception area where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa together or have a wander around the lovely and well-kept gardens. There are often activities going on and also special celebrations to which residents and relatives are invited. I have always found the staff to be friendly and supportive to Mum and myself. There is a hair salon downstairs so a pamper can be enjoyed and nails painted. Goodwins Hall always appears clean and tidy and staff are always professional and courteous. Yes it can be busy but if staff can't deal with something immediately, they will get back to you. Thank you all.
My mother has been a resident for four years now, as she moved in just before lockdown. Unfortunately we couldn’t see her for the first five months due to COVID restrictions, but the staff were fantastic throughout that very difficult period. She is well looked after, and despite the staff always being exceptionally busy, they seem patient and caring. The facilities they have make the care she receives much better than when she was being cared for at home. She also gets to interact with many more people, both staff and residents, which is again better for her than when she was at home.
The care my mother gets from the staff is exemplary. I know that she can be cantankerous at times but this is always dealt with with a smile and joke. Incidents are always reported to either my brother or myself.
Goodwins Hall has a welcoming atmosphere and is clean, spacious and bright. The staff are very friendly, caring and approachable. If a resident is able-bodied, there are lots of activities in which they can participate. The gardens are lovely and very well maintained.
The quality of care my mum receives is excellent. Beautiful home with wonderful, kind and caring staff.
When first came here, very unsettled. Now, I like and this is my home. I have care 24 hours a day and I am safe and not lonely anymore.
Following Mother's recent illness and return from hospital, the manager, team leaders and care staff have been so kind and supportive. Recognising privacy and dignity needs for personal care. Much appreciated support with medical care and chasing up GP and prescriptions etc. Thank you for monitoring and reporting.
Awful experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very expensive for private users. Recently informed by social services that my dear nan has been overpaying for her care. Care home was told this by social services and now my nan has been kicked out. This last year has been horribly stressful due to the way the care home has treated such a wonderful woman.
Overall, I am very happy with the standard of care my mum receives at Goodwins Hall. They aim to provide a 'home from home' and I think they do this well as the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and warm. The staff are always very obliging, nothing is too much trouble and I have been impressed by their sensitivity to dignity and respect for all residents. At times it is clear that there is a shortage of staff on shift but those on duty are working their socks off to maintain the high standards and level of care.
