View Full Details of Oakwood House Care HomeI have really enjoyed by stay in Oakwood House, the staff are all very kind and caring. No complaints at all. A real pleasure being here. I will miss all the company. I arrived on 21st November and returned home on 17th December. A lovely 4 week stay. Thank you.
Our son has settled in well after a month.
My grandad has been a resident at Oakwood House for a while now and I cannot praise the staff enough for the level of care he has received. It's so uplifting to see him so happy and healthy, it reminds me of how he used to be. We went to Oakwood House for the open day and everyone there was so helpful, friendly and up for fun! Well done Oakwood House keep up the great work.
From the day my partner moved to Oakwood House from the hospital. He improved so well in a matter of weeks. I found all the staff to be pleasant, and helpful regardless of their role within the home and interacted with my partner on a daily basis. In my opinion, they went over and above. I cannot fault them. The activities, the food, the care and how they made you feel important and part of the family.
I'm very happy and content living here with everything and everybody. The food is excellent and the staff are superb.
Overall pleased with care and support my grandad has received since being with Oakwood. Incredibly polite and friendly staff (specific mention to the young receptionist - always smiling). Nothing appears too much trouble for staff, demonstrating an excellent approach to their care. Great selection of activities on a weekly basis which keeps him smiling too!
Oakwood House Care Home is a beautiful home and I am very happy with the care my aunt is receiving. I am sure the home is well-managed and have given 'excellent' to many ratings. My aunt eats very little and I do wonder if her diet could be more varied if more thought were given. I know she refuses most food other than yoghurt. It would have been good to meet the manager/deputy manager when my aunt was admitted, although the receptionist is excellent and other staff members are very good. Many thanks.
I recommend this care home, it's the next best thing to being at home. Nice atmosphere, very kind staff, very clean, well maintained, very modern, high-quality establishment in a really nice setting - beautiful!
My dad's condition certainly improved after he entered Oakwood House. I know that he receives very good care and your staff are always at hand for a short chat about my dad, very reassuring. My dad has one visitor who often upsets him and I don't trust that person at all. No names mentioned. I'm usually welcomed by your regular receptionist who always has a friendly smile and kind words, she's a credit to your business. Keep up the good work and hopefully my dad's time with you will continue to be pleasant.
Oakwood House has provided my mum with good quality care and made a difficult time easier. All of the staff are caring and compassionate. At times communication has been a little lacking unless pushed by us but when issues have been raised they have been dealt with.
Mum's room has a garden view and she can feed the birds which she enjoys. The room is very comfortable and has everything she needs. The staff are polite and caring. Mum struggles to eat the food sometimes as her teeth aren't great! She has settled in well. Her stay is temporary so it's lovely to see her happy.
Excellent all-round. Very friendly, helpful staff. Well-run organisation.
My mum only arrived at the end of September but is already receiving end-of-life. I cannot fault the kindness of the staff - to both my mum and me - as we go through this most difficult time.
My 95-year-old mother was recently in Oakwood House Care Home for a short stay. The staff were kind and attentive, particularly the nursing staff who went out of their way to look after her. The home has a calm and peaceful atmosphere in a leafy setting and the wrap-around gardens are perfect for a gentle stroll. You can tell it is a happy place. I would also like to particularly thank the manager and deputy manager for their empathy and the speed and efficiency with which everything was organised.
The people I was with in the home were very good people to me, they helped me to be what I am today. Everybody was helpful to me. I loved all of them.
Staff are very caring and supportive of us as relatives and my mother and father as residents. The place is homely, where people arriving to receive care have life as far as possible.
My dad has been in the home since the lockdown, he has had a difficult time and he is permanently stuck in bed. All of the staff I meet here are friendly and caring but my dad really appreciates the staff members who go above and beyond, like a member of staff who helps him find films to watch, put devices on charge and sort out minor technical issues as well as much more, which makes his situation so much more bearable.
My aunt received outstanding care. She loved every moment of her time here, and our only wish is that we had found Oakwood House earlier. Every member of staff is to be commended for their work ethic, caring and professional attitude. A wonderful touch is having a dog on site; when residents have to leave pets at home, seeing a friendly dog helps with their loss.
Good.
Service here is excellent. I definitely recommend it to friends and family as they need or when my family is on holiday and cannot care for themselves. Staff at Oakwood House Care Home are brilliant, they understand and care for me. I am a gluten-free person and my meals are well controlled. The nursing team tried hard, before going on holiday to obtain the patch that releases paracetamol into the body and I was very appreciative. Facilities here are excellent, room compact, bathroom well equipped.
