View Full Details of Chantry HouseI have found the staff very kind, caring, polite and helpful. My husband is very well looked after.
Everything was clean. Staff were kind. Showed consideration to patient and visitors too.
My Mother was a resident at Chantry House for 2 years until her passing earlier this month. During her stay at the care home, we were really impressed by both the care staff and the management team. Everybody was very professional and extremely helpful and caring to my Mother and to the family and their communication was excellent. It is never easy to see a loved one decline and then pass away but the approach of the Chantry House team made the process much less painful and stressful. We would recommend this facility to anyone looking for care facilities.
Our mother with Alzheimer's has been at Chantry House since June 2023 and we cannot rate it highly enough. The whole atmosphere is welcoming, homely, and relaxing, and staff are always on hand to ensure everyone is being looked after safely and respectfully. The management are very hands-on, know all their residents, and are very supportive of their staff. Previous homes viewed our mother as too challenging and she deteriorated rapidly at her last home. At Chantry this is not at all the case as she is being looked after by such caring, experienced people who treat her with the upmost respect and care: she is so much happier and everything about her life is so much better. Every time we visit we see plenty of staff engaging with the residents who are being allowed to live their lives as fully and independently as they can. Thank you.
My dad went into Chantry House on the 3rd of February 2023. He was very unwell due to cancer and his needs. I cannot thank all the staff so much for the utmost care and attention given to my dad and more to make him as comfortable as possible. I was kept informed at all times and was never too much trouble to talk on the telephone about his progress at all times. When visiting my dad, again nothing was too much trouble and knew full well that he was in good hands at all times, which made me more at ease. I recommend the staff and facilities of Chanrty House highly.
My review is based on experiences and expectations of my father being emergency placed at the care home due to his significant emerging health, care and support needs. Initially, the move was very challenging in respect to provisions that I had expected to accommodate my father and communication difficulties due to Covid restrictions but this was handled effectively, efficiently and sensitively by staff within the home and my father soon settled and issues were resolved. Interactions that I have witnessed between my father and staff have been very good. My father's health, physical and social needs are being addressed and met in accordance with his wishes, interests and abilities. Management is always very understanding and supportive. It’s a pleasure visiting my father, as his well-being has greatly improved through a difficult transition which wouldn’t have been possible without the support and understanding of staff who now attend and assist his 24-hour care.
Our dad has lived at Chantry House Care Home for over three years, the care he receives is excellent. As a family, we know Dad can be challenging due to his dementia which along with other conditions is progressive. Despite the challenges, the staff continue to look after him and clearly have his best interests at heart. They are kind, caring and treat him with dignity. It's lovely to see the interaction when we visit. Nothing is too much trouble and any health issues he has are dealt with proactively with appointments being made etc. and alternative ways of making him comfortable explored. The communication between us and the home is really good, we feel informed and included. We honestly can't thank the Chantry team enough for all they do for our dad.
My husband is less anxious since moving to Chantry House. Staff and nurses identify his needs and notice quickly if he seems unwell. Staff are kind and gentle with the residents. They arranged a party for our 50th wedding anniversary which all the other residents could join in.
My mum was a resident at this home for a few years, suffering from Alzheimer's with dementia and under the new management the whole atmosphere of the home has changed in such a positive way, the staff are very welcoming and friendly and always helpful, whenever I had to contact the home it was never too much trouble to give me an update on my mum's state of health at the time. The new manager's way of management and her changes that have been made is an absolute fresh breath through the whole home and has made all the residents' lives so much brighter and I know that my mum's care under the new manager and her staff was the best that could be.
The most efficient, caring, loving home Mum has been in. Turned her round after a very bad year in another home. Always answer my queries, the phone, and nothing ever too much trouble for any of the staff. Feel reassured Mum is in a caring home.
Please Please do not trust this company with your loved ones. I will never forgive myself for leaving my dad here. When we moved dad into Chantry House it was run by another provider and it was perfect. Sadly we noticed a huge decline as soon as De Vere took over in all aspects of the home, the staff and dads general wellbeing. Individual staff were mostly lovely but most left once the current manager started, stating how awful she was. Management at De Vere are not interested in providing care or quality of life for residents. This company prefer residents that do not have families and do not ask questions. Sadly Covid has given them the perfect cover to treat residents how they please. After seven years of dad living at Chantry House and us visiting daily De Vere management didn't even call when he died. If you want the best for your family please go elsewhere.
Due to current Covid restrictions, I am unable to visit my mother inside the home, but we can now meet in a newly acquired pod outside the main building, so it is difficult to give a full review. Her general health appears to be good, however, her mental health does seem to have declined during the lockdown, and she can be very confused at times, but this does seem to be getting better as we visit more regularly. Visiting does seem to be very important for her well being, and hopefully, soon the visits can be carried out in a more relaxed manner.
My husband has dementia and is quite a hand full, but the staff at Chantry are kind and patient; which also helps me to know he is being looked after with dignity.
I moved my mother aged 98 into Chantry House and am really delighted with the love and care she receives. My husband says that I am so much more relaxed when I return from a visit.
My sister has Alzheimers with challenging behaviour frequently being shown. Within 5 days at Chantry, she had calmed down and was smiling once more.
