View Full Details of The DepperhaughI'm so amazed at such a beautiful, well kept and immaculate home with a beautiful garden. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond. Every little detail made it feel like a home from home with extended family.
My father has been in the Depperhaugh for nearly 2 years. He is always dressed smartly and looks clean with brushed hair and teeth. The staff are fully aware of the conditions my father has and how to interact with him, what he likes and dislikes, and what is important to him. He can be difficult at times but the staff always treat him with respect and dignity whilst doing personal care. He is a real charmer and the carers have a real affection for him. His surroundings are comfortable and suit him. The home feels very welcoming, and comfortable and does not smell unlike some homes. The home plan activities which my dad is able to take part in if he wishes. They have a very packed enrichment programme which focuses on things like music which the residents really enjoy. If my dad has any issues we are always informed and what next steps they should take. If there is a problem we are always informed and know that he is well looked after when we are not there.
My wife has been at the Depperhaugh for over three years. From the time of our first visit, there has never been any doubt that this is the best place for her. She has a complex degenerative condition that varies from day to day and sometimes during the day, yet none of this fazes the staff. The quality of the care is superb, my wife is always well-presented and clean. Eating can be a challenge but is coped with without fuss or ado. The whole team is important at The Depperhaugh, and on a number of occasions, I have witnessed housekeeping staff comfort my wife. All the staff know her name, and how she is, and she knows the staff names (she often has to tell me who is who). The range of activities for residents is wide and varied. I visit regularly and frequently and have never had any worries or concerns. The senior staff are always willing to talk through any issues in relation to the care of my wife, long and short-term issues. I cannot recommend the Depperhaugh highly enough.
We are so pleased that Mum is at the Depperhaugh, her friends, family and external care workers all agree that the home provides the most graceful environment for its residents. Congratulations to the manager and all the staff.
The staff at The Depperhaugh are very hardworking, friendly and caring, getting to know my sister and her specific needs. They have tried their best to encourage my sister to take part in events in the main rooms downstairs or go outside in warmer weather. The care home is always very clean and well-presented, with a lovely dining area and spacious main rooms with various activities provided. I trust that my sister is in good hands and that the staff (including the Manager) have her best interests in mind at all times. I would highly recommend this excellent care home.
My mother has been in The Depperhaugh for 2y6m. She is well cared for and treated with love and respect, as are all residents. The staff know each resident's particular likes and dislikes and always accommodate the individuals. There is always a cheerful atmosphere and it feels very homely with flowers on the tables, organised activities and TV or music playing. The rooms are currently being refreshed with new decor and furniture so are even better than before. The garden and grounds are well maintained and a joy to sit in when the weather suits. The twice-daily activities are varied and well-organised. I chose to review July 2024 as this was when my mother was taken to Wroxham on a boat trip on the broads with picnic lunch. I was able to join the trip and we had a very happy outing and it's so nice to look back at the photos of her smiley face and be able to share this with family and friends. She had a lovely day out.
A warm and friendly place, love and care shown from all the staff. Mum didn't want for nothing, night and day. Spotlessly clean. Dining room like a 5 star hotel, with all home cooked food every day. Plenty of activities. Beautiful home and gardens.
I would like to thank all the staff at The Depperhaugh for their care of my mum and for their kindness and friendly positivity when I visit. I am extremely grateful that this level of care was available when my mum needed it and that everyone understood and could cope with the challenges mum's illness presented.
Wonderful home and lovely gardens. Bedrooms are very generous in size, light and airy with stunning views. Mother-in-law enjoyed all the food, as everything is homemade and served in a five star dining room. Always tea and coffee with cakes and biscuits. Plenty of activities. Staff were loving and caring, like a home from home.
My Nan was in this care home for around 13 weeks before she suddenly passed away, was such a shock. But the love and care that my Nan received, we couldn't be any happier. From the second she arrived everyone made her feel welcome, loved and part of the family. Anything she wanted she had and the service was top-notch. The cleanliness and hygiene were superb. Couldn't have wished for a nicer care home for my Nan to go in. Thank you for all that you did for her.
Absolutely outstanding home. To the maintenance of the home to the well-being of those in their care to the staff, caterers, cleaners, admin etc. All very warm and welcoming. The environment is fantastic for the residents, calm and relaxing.
Lovely welcoming home and staff. Fantastic atmosphere and lots of activities and events planned for all the residents. When given a tour the home was clean, tidy and the rooms are large and comfortable. The manager answered all our questions and made us feel at ease.
My relative is very well cared for. The staff are exceptionally helpful and caring. I am always made to feel welcome, greeted by name and included in conversation with and about my cousin, who is more like my sister. She has quite complex needs which change as her condition progresses. Staff and management are responsive to variations in her and understanding. They are supportive of all our family and friends and help us cope with seeing our loved one gradually diminished by her disease. I cannot recommend The Depperhaugh highly enough.
I like the staff, who look after me very well and know that how I feel can vary a lot. They keep me clean and comfortable and help me choose the clothes to wear for the day, and they respect my wishes. The food is very nice and staff help me with eating when needed. The Home help me celebrate family occasions such as our Golden Wedding and my husband’s birthday and welcome my visitors. I enjoy many of the activities provided. I enjoy the grounds, which are very nice, and I like the help of the gardener with growing my own plants.
Every single member of staff at The Depperhaugh is committed and clearly wants the best for all of the residents. They go above and beyond to support and look after my mum and the extended family, especially going above and beyond for special family occasions. Singing hymns, praying and giving comfort to an ex-minister as well as providing a wide variety of experiences for all of the residents. To allow Mum to have a small patch of garden (her happy place) we truly value everything The Depperhaugh do for our wonderful mum and our family.
The Depperhaugh has been an amazing place for Mum to be. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they treat the residents with dignity and respect. They go above and beyond, including organising special meals for families for celebrations and accommodating special interests of residents in the activities that they arrange. The day-to-day care is excellent and staff really get to know each individual resident personally.
Dad has been a resident for nearly a year. Prior to admission, his health had been significantly declining. Since admission. his health and well-being have significantly improved, thanks to the wonderful care from all the staff. He is happier and socialises! All the staff are wonderful, so caring, friendly, nothing is too much trouble and are always approachable and listen. Dad always receives dignified, respectful care individual to his needs. As a family, we are truly welcomed, we share family lunches, the food is fresh, delicious and home-cooked. Recently, the wonderful manager, catering and care staff provided a very special 80th birthday lunch and let us hold a family party to celebrate Dad's birthday, decorating the lounge. We can't thank the manager and wonderful staff at The Depperhaugh enough for making this possible and Dad's birthday a truly special and memorable occasion for us to cherish! It was truly wonderful to have this opportunity and to see Dad so very happy. Thank you.
So nice to see the same familiar staff caring for my dad, they all work so hard to make all the residents and the family members feel at home. Always willing to listen and help with any issues. The grounds of the home are beautiful and well looked after. I particularly like the communal spaces and can always find a lovely spot for Dad and me to do reading or a game of bat and ball. The home always smells fresh and clean and it’s so clean for an old building, I think the choice of meals each day and the quality of the food is very good. We are lucky.
My brother has been a resident of The Depperhaugh Nursing Home for over 9 years. He has been looked after very well and is happy there, he gets on very well with all the staff, they look after his needs and make sure he is comfortable. He is always dressed nicely. The home is always clean and tidy and the rooms are spotless.
My father has been in The Depperhaugh for over a year and has been steadily declining. The staff have been brilliant and stepped up his care to cater for his declining health; they are kind, patient and friendly and I’m enormously grateful for all the hard work they do for all the residents. They always make dads visitors feel welcome and the activities coordinator is amazing at arranging a range of activities - from painting and crafts, to opera singers and violinists, to giant bunny rabbits and petting animals - all which the residents and visitors love. Highly recommend this care home for your loved ones! Thank you to all the incredible staff who go above and beyond
