View Full Details of Eastcotts Nursing HomeMy uncle was at Eastcotts for approx. 1 month after a stay in hospital. It was reassuring to know that he was safe and being treated so well, as the previous few months had been very demanding. The staff were very kind and attentive, and treated him as an individual which was so important for his rehabilitation. The facilities in the communal areas are very good and the facilities in the rooms are also good. The smart speaker in the room is a nice touch. Overall a very positive experience at a difficult time. Thanks to the staff for their hard work and kindness.
We are so pleased with the care and attention that my mother in law is receiving at Eastcotts Nursing Home and would recommend it most highly. The staff are always helpful, cheerful and caring. My mother in law is content and happy when we visit her and her health is greatly improved
My Father has been at Eascotts now for 12 weeks and the staff have treated my Dad with great care and dignity. I have been kept informed at all times by the staff of any incidents. I have found the manager and all the staff very approachable and nothing has ever been too much trouble. I cannot fault the level of care he receives whilst a resident. The food always looks good and they are adaptable to the needs of the resident. I would thoroughly recommend the establishment as a whole.
My Dad was discharged from hospital to Eastcotts to help him recover from a 2-week hospital stay back in mid-December. The staff here have been absolutely amazing throughout his stay. They are not only very professional and great at what they do but there is a real personal level of care here. You can see that the staff have taken time to get to know their residents on a personal level and adapt when supporting each and every one of them with dignity and gentle care. The manager has been amazing and hands-on in listening to our concerns about Dad coming home and is currently supporting us in arranging the care plan going forward. In preparation for Dad’s discharge home, we had him at home for an overnight stay this week and upon our return, every single staff member we saw, personally welcomed Dad back and genuinely wanted to know how his homestay went. As a family we highly recommend Eastcotts.
This is a wonderful nursing home with a warm, loving ethos to the care of the residents. They couldn't have done more for our mum as well as looking after us in the process and dealt with end-of-life care in a professional but compassionate way. We are so grateful that our mum spent her last days here and was so well looked after in a truly lovely environment.
I cannot recommend this home enough there are not enough words to express how amazing, caring and professional every member of staff is. My mum came to Eastcotts in March 23 for what we thought would be a temporary stay but is more permanent due to her unstable diabetes. These people are amazing, my mum wouldn’t be alive and well if it wasn’t for them. The manager goes above and beyond to assist and help as do all the staff. My mum's life has improved so much thanks to the team here. In addition they are also so caring and welcoming to my dad who spends every day there seeing my mum and all the visitors she receives.
Mum was only a resident for ten days before she passed away, but I cannot fault the love and care she received but also me and my brother as we were there every day with her. To the point, as I had to travel each day from Bedfordshire, they always made me tea and coffee along with meals, which was so unexpected. The warmth they showed towards my mum was overwhelming. Yes, the actual bricks and mortar is tiered and could do with a facelift, and at times, I am sure a few extra staff would help, but everyone who we came across that worked there was kind and caring, and that's all we could ask for in Mum's final days. She was warm, safe and looked after.
Pretty much from when Dad was first admitted to Eastcotts we decided it was where we wanted him to be. This was confirmed after his 4 week assessment period as not only necessary but also our choice as a family. It is of course convenient being very local to where we live but much more important is the care Dad gets and how he feels on a daily basis about being there. The care is excellent and Dad is safe and comfortable. He has a room that meets his needs with an en-suite bathroom and attentive care and medical staff that ensure he is well looked after, physically and mentally (as far as dad's conditions allow). Dad's welfare is always considered and we remain very happy with his being there. Unfortunately, Dad has required hospital care this year but on each occasion, the Eastcotts' staff have dealt with the situation rapidly and effectively. Possibly even more importantly they have welcomed him "home" on each return getting him settled back in as soon as possible.
My father was admitted here several months ago. Staff members have been nice to my father but there are many things wrong here. Firstly, communication is at a minimum here and you always have to hunt people down to talk to them. Secondly, things go missing. My father recently passed here and many of his belongings are missing and his TV is actually smashed. When alerted to this, staff members acted like nothing happened and had the nerve to suggest my father’s TV was damaged in transit. Are you kidding me? To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I am not saying that there aren’t people here that do care but I and my family feel that my father was neglected at this facility due to his stage of illness.
The staff are friendly, my husband is treated with dignity. Residents are encouraged to join in with activities and those that are able to, seem to enjoy themselves.
My husband was initially placed in a room with a radiator that did not work, a TV that was filthy and did not work, a bathroom that had limescale, stains, a bathroom unit where the mirror door was leaning on the floor against the wall, and the casing (made of metal) had rusted due to lack of ventilation - this being where his dental hygiene equipment was located. The skirting boards and edge of the flooring were covered in dust. I complained and did get a prompt reply from the manager. My husband is now in a warmer room with a more hygienic bathroom. The staff are doing their best to take care of my husband. I hope the next person allocated the previous room will find it has been improved. I cannot fill in the ratings for most of the facilities as my husband is physically unable to use them.
My Aunt has been in Eastcotts Nursing Home for almost a year, she improved greatly due to the high level of care and attention, giving her a quality of life she did not have before, but sadly now her needs are far greater than when she first went into East Cotts, but each step of my Aunts Journey through Dementia (Lewy Body and Vascular) the care has been outstanding, the staff seamlessly adapting to her change in health and care requirements has been amazing, they swiftly acted to her new health issues giving a very high standard of medical and personal care in a friendly manner, always treating her with dignity and respect through this difficult illness. I am always made very welcome and find the staff very open with their support and care, their statement is very accurate, they are truly like a family and I just could not ask for more or thank them enough for an outstanding team. Thank you.
Dad was moved to Eastcotts for end-of-life care in December ’21 and I was so relieved after first visiting him when it became apparent he was going to be well looked after. The staff were attentive and always treated him with utmost dignity and compassion. When I had questions or queries they were addressed promptly, clearly, and without hesitation. I think we are all very aware that the past couple of years have been hugely stressful on all caregivers whether public or private, but I do not believe the staff at Eastcotts could or would have acted with more care irrespective of recent circumstances. I was also hugely touched to see a couple of them had taken time out of their private lives to attend Dad's funeral yesterday. With thanks.
Mum has been a resident at Eastcotts for the past 8-weeks. She has settled well beyond our initial expectations, and this is mainly due to the care and attention of the whole staffing team. Everyone is friendly and helpful to both Mum and the family and have been very welcoming. Mums care needs have been recognised and catered for. She is treated with dignity and respect. Many thanks!
A lovely, happy environment. Very friendly and competent staff, very helpful and sociable. An excellent, safe, calm place where we feel very much at ease to leave Mum knowing she will be taken care of very, very well. Thank you.
Very happy with the caring way my husband is looked after.
My husband has dementia and he is treated with the utmost care and dignity. The manager and every member of the staff is kind and considerate to his needs. In the short time he has been there he has improved, being more alert and stimulated. He settled from the start and is extremely happy. The staff are also very friendly to me when I visit. I couldn't wish for more.
I would only recommend Eastcotts Nursing Home as it is by far the best. My mother has been here for 2 and a half years and I would not want her anywhere else. They treat my mother with dignity and respect at all times and I know my mum is happy here - and that's what matters. All the staff are a credit to Eastcotts.
Review with management and senior staff re my mum's care to date. Excellent meeting, went through all with the team covered all areas of my mum's care. My mum is very happy, the staff and team are excellent. There are lots of things to do and regular trips out of the home.
We as a family, have never found anything but the utmost kindness, love, care, patience, support, dignity and respect at all times over the many years at this nursing home we have been visiting, not only to our dear mother but to us as a family. Nothing is ever too much trouble, the warmth from all the staff is amazing and very reassuring, as we are not able to be with her 24/7.
