View Full Details of Sunrise Nursing HomeCurrently, my mother is in respite at this home. The staff are friendly and caring and she reports the food is really good. But the state of her room is terrible just before her arrival we were told it was a store room. There's stuff in the corridor outside it. She doesn't have her own bathroom and the bathroom she can use has spare equipment in it and wheelchairs wedged in either side of the toilet. She does have a sink in a cupboard in her room but cannot use it as there is a leak and has towels under it to soak up the leak. She has no bedside lamp even though it's been requested several times. She has blankets but no quilt even though this has been requested. And her dressing gown was hooked up from a cupboard handle high up making it difficult and unsafe for her to retrieve. When this was pointed out we were told well if she had a fall trying to get it they would know as have sensors in the floor to alert them to fall. Unbelievable.
My dad had been a resident of this care home since 2019. It has been a brilliant care home with friendly staff and manager. She always went out of her way to help us with Dad. I can't praise Sunrise enough, I would definitely recommend this nursing home. They definitely made Dad's last years of his life the best. Thank you.
My mum had been in Sunrise nursing home for the last 8 years. She had to leave her home as she had to have her right leg amputated and couldn’t return home. She was welcomed in by the original staff and said she felt comfortable in the room she was in. The room proved not big enough and straight away she was given a larger room which she stayed in for her remaining years. Since the new owners and the appointed new manager have taken over I cannot fault the home at all. Any problems Mum had were dealt with straight away and we the family were informed. The staff were always friendly and made you feel welcome. Mum passed away on the 19th of April 2024 and the staff were brilliant right till she passed away.
Mum-in-law has been a resident here for over 8 years (until her recent passing) Sunrise has a lovely homely feel and the staff are always happy, friendly and very caring. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and it has always felt reassuring that she was very well looked after. We as a family were always warmly greeted and made to feel very welcome. The owners and management are super. Always available to discuss anything. The food and meals are very good. Overall a lovely nursing home that I would highly recommend.
When a good friend became unable to care for himself in his home, he was moved from pillar to post, until Sunrise Nursing Home gave him the new home that he needed. Whenever I visited, including garden visits during Covid when possible, I was made most welcome. The staff were, at all times, kind and respectful towards my friend, and I always felt that he was in just the right place. A big thank you to everyone for giving my friend the dignity that he deserved.
My mum has been in Sunrise for 2.5 years and we could not wish for her to be anywhere else. The care my mum receives is excellent and even when times have been tough they have reassured us, with their normal smile and positivity, that everything will be fine. Mum unfortunately has dementia and doesn't remember exactly where she is, but feels she's in a hotel, which speaks for itself as to how comfortable she feels. The manager and her team are all superb and I thank each and every one of them for the way they look after Mum.
I cannot thank the staff of Sunrise enough for the care they gave to my mum. She was only there a short time before her passing (she was very ill), but the staff made her feel very welcome and part of the “family”. The level of care is amazing and the staff are always happy and friendly, no matter the hour of day or night. My love and thanks go out to you all. Thank you.
My brother who is 71 years old Downes Syndrome with dementia was first at Sunrise for I week of respite care after COVID lockdowns. Sunrise had totally given him a new lease on life and he wanted to go back, fortunately, the manager gave him the first bed available and he is so happy there. The quality of care is second to none, daily activities, always clean-shaven, dressed and interacting with residents and staff. He is made to feel so loved in the true family-friendly environment which is extended to visitors and relatives. No appointments needed to visit, no great turnover in staff and regular relative meetings with staff and director to exchange experience and future plans (which is very unusual in my nursing home experiences) truly the signs of happy residents, staff, good management and happy relatives. My family are so grateful for the care given to my brother who is not the easiest person to communicate with as he has little speech and mobility. Thank you Sunrise.
Mum arrived at Sunrise in a very poor state from another care home and I honesty feel that if it was not for the caring staff and management, Mum would not be with us today. She arrived with deep bed sores and very frail. I can't thank them enough for giving us this extra quality time with Mum, they always make you welcome every time the family visit.
The moment we first visited Sunrise we knew it was the right place for Mum. The staff are warm and friendly and the care and understanding they show mum is outstanding. We class the staff as part of our family. We love to visit and our grandchildren are welcomed and love to say hello to the other residents. I would recommend Sunrise with no reservations at all.
My dad has been at Sunrise for a few months now, and the process has been so much better for my family, as everyone has been so friendly and supportive of us. My dad seems happy and well cared for. The food always looks so nice, and the homemade cakes look amazing. The staff are always happy and polite when we visit. They keep us updated with everything. Thank you to all at Sunrise for welcoming my dad and our family with such kindness.
The staff here are amazing they go above and beyond to care for their patients. It is homely. You are made so welcome when you visit. The food is very good. They also have mid-morning and afternoon snacks. Mum loved it here and when she became very ill the staff were very good and we knew she was being well looked after. The town centre is so close if we need anything. I would definitely recommend this home.
Excellent all round care of my friend she's so happy all the time, the management team are helpful and welcoming every time I visit. The home is always improving and very clean and tidy. I would recommend Sunrise to all family and friends in the future.
My mother has been a resident since April 2021. My mother has complex needs, is well cared for and appears happy and content. She really enjoys her food and sitting in the garden. The manager and staff work extremely hard to provide a home and supportive environment. They address any concerns quickly and in a professional manner. The team are currently working tirelessly to upgrade the environment and facilities since coming out of the pandemic.
My aunt has recently moved into Sunrise, and they have all made her feel so welcome and at home; she is the happiest I have seen her in such a long time. Nothing appears too much for the staff, and they are very happy and cheerful. The managers are always approachable and make my family feel reassured. I would recommend Sunrise. Thank you to everyone there.
My mother spent three years at the Sunrise Nursing Home in Felixstowe. The staff who looked after her were exceptionally kind and caring. She had a beautiful view of the sea from her bed, and members of her family were always made very welcome. Her room was always clean and smelt fresh, and she loved the food. The staff enabled her to spend her last days in a calm and dignified way with the family at her bedside, able to see her smile, hold her hands and catch her last few words. Thank you so much to all at the Sunrise.
An amazing team who looked after my dad so well in his final few months. So caring and attentive and went above and beyond, even visiting him when he was in the hospital for a short while. Thank you to everyone at Sunrise; you are all stars.
The staff are very friendly, and everyone always seems happy. A lovely, warm and clean environment. My brother-in-law is so happy here, and the staff go out of their way to help meet his needs. It always appears well organised. Happy for my brother-in-law to be there.
Mum was moved to Sunrise last Tuesday, but before she was moved, physically we knew it was the place for her. The staff, from the offset, were so welcoming and caring, Now Mum has been in Sunrise for a few days; it's definitely the right place for her; she is happy, and for the first time with all the moves, she has called this home. The care and love they show the residents are like family care, as when we visit. To have a chat about how Mum is doing etc fills us with confidence that she is in the right place. Amazing place.
Amazing people and so welcoming - feels like home. Amazing staff and management. Would highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for care for their loved ones. Nana is very comfortable there - the first time she has felt settled.
