View Full Details of Avocet Court Care HomeMy fathers first time going into a home. Myself and my family were so worried about leaving him. We should have never been worried! The staff are so lovely, the home is lovely and clean. My dad is having the best care.
My mum has been a resident at Avocet Care Home (Harlech House) in Ipswich for over a year, and throughout that time the staff are always been compassionate and caring towards my mum. Whenever I have asked questions the staff are always helpful. I am really impressed by the positive attitude shown by all of the caring team.
My mum is happy and settled here, which is the most important thing to my sisters and I. While not the most modern care home, there is a constant programme of improvements taking place. The carers are fantastic, as is the activities coordinator. The food is excellent, good quality and plentiful.
My aunt died on 23rd January in your care. Her care with you over the past 7 years was very good. Care and communication with relatives was 9 out of 10. She loved her time with you and considered it her home.
On Wednesday 15th of January, I was visiting my mother and like several other residents, Mum had a nasty cough and felt very unwell. A very nice lady from housekeeping came into Mum's room and we had a lovely chat about how this lady puts out fat balls and bird seed and what she does in the garden area. My mum loves her garden at home so this really cheered Mum up after I left at 16.20 pm before tea arrived and I asked this lady to check on Mum for me, not only did she assist Mum with her meal, she was caring and patient and made Mum feel special and this morning the first thing Mum told me was how kind this lady had been. I believe anyone so caring should be made aware of how much this meant! Thank you.
My father-in-law came to respite care at Avocet Court Care Home from the hospital. All staff were prompt in meeting his needs, both physically, medically and emotionally. The communication from reception to nursing staff was exceptional. We felt that all staff were professional and friendly and we can see such an improvement in my father-in-law in all areas. Thank you so much.
When we arrived at Avocet Court Care Home we didn't know what to expect, we were welcomed with a warm reception and my mind was put at rest as this was our first time in a care home, it was a family decision. Thank you.
First-class. All staff have given excellent care to my mother. Thank you!
The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. All staff have been courteous and assuring. Have found Avocet Court Care Home an excellent overall experience.
My wife always tells me when I visit that she likes the place, the food is always good, and the staff are great, I visit three times a week and have lunch as well. I always get a phone call from one of the carers as to how she is. I also believe if it wasn't for the night staff my wife would not be here now checking her on three occasions over the time she has been there when she had heart failure and they called emergency ambulances. I cannot thank them enough. I would recommend Avocet court if I was asked. Thanks to all the staff.
My brother tells me he was well treated at Acovert and he got on really well with the carers who were very caring. He sends them a very big thank you for their care. As his carer and next of kin living 4 1/2 hours drive away I found communication was sometimes difficult and was not always kept in the link, without me calling regularly. The major issue not being able to talk to my brother when his phone was not charged. Having said that the carers when contacted were always respectful and very caring of my brother which is the main thing. Thank you all.
At first, Mum was very scared about coming here because she had never experienced this situation before, by the time it was time for her to move on she would quite happily have kept here longer. The staff had been very kind to her and she felt at home with them. Through no fault of the staff as they were so busy there was sometimes a bit of a delay answering the call button but on the whole, everything was good.
The home is excellent overall, the staff including gardeners kitchen service staff and activities treat my mother-in-law with respect and make her feel special. 100th birthday party was super, buffet laid on by house and rooms decorated with 100th celebrations. Well done to you all. Special video down for her. Thank you.
I have been very pleased with the care that my husband has received during the year that he has lived in Powys House. He has been treated at all times with kindness, dignity and respect. All the staff have been warm and helpful to me and have given me time to speak to them when necessary. I have valued especially that every time there has been a problem, such as falling out of bed, even if no physical damage has resulted, I have been told about this by a phone call. This has enabled me to relax and has given me peace of mind. Very best wishes, a resident's wife.
My overall experience has been very good dealing with Mum's complex needs. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are various activities, catering for all different needs. The food is very good and constantly checking to make sure what can be improved.
Birthday visit to my Aunt who is in respite and assessment. I was impressed with the staff that we met who appeared to be attentive and caring. A special mention to the man in the cafe who presented my Aunt with a birthday cake and made us feel very welcome. A lovely space to sit and chat and feel ‘normal’. I was pleased to see her room was sunny and clean with its own en-suite.
We find members of staff very helpful, happy and welcome to do most things asked for. Mother-in-law is settling in and becoming more active with staff and other residents.
Staff work very hard, are helpful and friendly. I can relax knowing my mother is well cared for. Would recommend care home to anyone. Lovely cafe to bring the residents.
Care of my father-in-law is exemplary. His needs are met in full.
When my dad moved here from another care home I so noticed the difference - staff are attentive and really care - keep me informed with regular progress reports and updates and my dad is improving and seems a lot happier. Couldn't ask for more! Thank you.
