View Full Details of Stowlangtoft HallAll the staff are very friendly and always speak to you. They are extremely helpful and always greet you with a smile. They go out of their way to help residents. My wife has been a resident for nearly 5 weeks after spending five weeks in hospital and the calm and relaxed atmosphere has aided her recovery. Hospital food was far from appetising but the food at Stowlangtoft Hall has been excellent and has helped my wife recover her appetite. I have also had lunch at the Nursing Home and can vouch for the top quality of the meals.
The staff are all very warm and friendly and have really been able to help my uncle settle during a difficult transition of accepting full-time care. They are always willing to try and accommodate needs demonstrating a real patient-focused approach. I have been very grateful for the excellent care provided and the comfort of knowing my uncle is now in a safe, home-from-home environment.
From the moment you arrive at Stowlangtoft Hall you are greeted by warm, friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble. The standard of care is exemplary - my husband was treated with respect and dignity. The room was comfortable, pleasant and clean. The food and drink very good too. Amazing nursing home and amazing staff.
This home is amazing. My father-in-law spent a short time in the home but was made to feel like family. The staff are amazing and there was never a bad time to visit. Very rare to get a nursing home these days to have such compassion and put the residents first.
My mother's cousin arrived at the home in December 2021. She had suffered a severe stroke a few months beforehand. We, as her family, were all in agreement, after reading the wonderful reviews about Stowlangtoft Nursing Home, that this would be the perfect home for her, with regard to distance for visiting and the care needed. Every single member of staff welcomed us all and gave their time and advice on how we could deal with any problems arising from her stay there. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The room she stayed in was bright and airy, and while she could eat, she enjoyed the meals and was very grateful for the personal care she received too. We would all recommend this home for the wonderful setting, the caring environment, and the knowledge that she was always in safe hands until her death.
Every member of staff gave their time and compassion in looking after my father in the short time he was a resident before he passed away. I could not have wished for a better end to his days, and we were treated with the utmost care and attention. For example, Dad was provided with a replacement (longer length) bed, changed rooms as quickly as possible during very hot weather, and treated with patience, respect, humour and perseverance in winning his trust. He was listened to and maintained his dignity throughout, and enabled to make his final decisions with integrity and timeliness. We were all supported in our shock and grief at the end. These are all things that go beyond the 'care' that you can expect and pay for and in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The home manager, deputy manager and all of the team felt like part of our family in looking after Dad.
My late Mother was a resident of the home (Stowlangtoft Hall) for a fraction over 12 months. During this time the staff actively encouraged her to participate in the daily activity sessions and attend the dining hall for her lunchtime meals. When the weather is suitable residents are encouraged to sit outside in the fresh air and sunshine as part of their well-being. We found the staff approachable, supportive and happy to try their best to accommodate the needs of the resident. Overall this home is run in a very professional manner and the standard of cleanliness cannot be faulted in any way. We would further like to thank all the staff at the home for their support and kindness, together with the empathy shown to the family.
Every single member of the staff at Stowlangtoft Hall is caring, efficient and so kind. In the last few days as dad has deteriorated they have been amazing to us all. We cannot fault the care they have given my dad.
My husband has a long term illness and stayed at Stowlangtoft Hall for several months earlier this year to recuperate after a period in hospital and to give me respite. This was a first-time experience of a nursing home for both of us but I would have no hesitation in using Stowlangtoft Hall again should the occasion arise. When I went to visit him, I was made to feel comfortable and welcome - from the management downwards. Staff always had time to talk to me about his wellbeing and to help with any concerns. He was taken care of, made friends and visibly improved over his stay. I was extremely grateful also for that the support I received. Thank you.
My late mother stayed at Stowlangtoft Hall for a period of four months on end of life care. The love, care and attention she received was outstanding which resulted in an improvement in her health. Once settled in, she enjoyed taking part in the varied activity programme and taking lunch in the dining room was a highlight of the day. Her room was always kept tidy and clean and the carers put a lot of thought into dressing her smartly which really contributed to her well-being, as did her regular visits to the hair salon. She also loved being taken out in her wheelchair for walks in the beautiful grounds. Stowlangtoft Hall is a special place, as are all of the staff that play such an important part in the lives of the residents. Our family will always be grateful that our mother was privileged to spend her final days here.
My adorable Mum stayed at Stowlangtoft Hall for 4 months on end-of-life care. I cannot express enough how my Mums life was showered with love and care from everyone at the home. She truly was so well, happy and improved to the point we often thought Mum would live for ages and they got it wrong she wasn’t end of life. It was simply the best experience and home environment for Mum. We were devastated to lose Mum but gained comfort knowing the care was outstanding from every member of staff. I’m so grateful as we all are mum final journey was with this amazing nursing home. Full credit to the manager and all her staff. Special love to so many of the staff who always went the extra mile. You reap what you sow and Mum was truly loved it showed. Kindest regards.
The care and support my mother has received at Stowlangtoft Hall have been excellent. She has particularly enjoyed the food and being kept clean and cared for. All the staff have been very helpful towards my mother and myself and have always had the time to talk to me about things. The manager has always been very helpful. I have been regularly visiting my friend's mother here since she was admitted in December 2022. The care staff are friendly but very professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. In my opinion they provide excellent person centred care. My friend's mother is really happy here, enjoying the food and cleanliness of her room and surroundings. Many of the staff have been here a number of years which speaks in itself for job satisfaction and senior leadership. Management are very helpful, always happy to answer any queries and give advice.
We are extremely grateful for the care and attention my mother-in-law is receiving from Stowlangtoft. She has complex needs after suffering a stroke last year. All the staff ensured her settling-in period was a smooth process. She has made amazing progress at the home, especially in the activity room. Thanks to the Manager and the Team.
Extremely happy with the care and service provided for my nan. My nan stayed at many different facilities for respite and grumbled about them all - until she came to Stowlangtoft, which she was happy and content at, and was pleased to call her home.
I am more than happy with the quality of the facilities and care my mother is receiving, we feel very lucky to have been able to gain a place for Mum at Stowlangtoft Hall as the setting is superb. The nature of the home itself is what sets it apart from everything else, a beautiful old mansion, set in acres of lovely countryside. All of the individual areas and rooms available to the residents are another feature that makes the place so good, drawing room, library, orangery, bowling green, sensory courtyard area with fountain and all of the character that goes hand in hand with these Halls. With plenty of activities on a daily basis and other events, a resident will always find something to do.
We were very lucky to get my mother a place at Stowlangtoft Hall for her palliative care, which crucially gave her quality of life in her final weeks in beautiful surroundings and comfort. She absolutely loved the Hall, and the whole team - nurses, managers, chef and housekeeping were all amazing. The quality of care and attention she received was outstanding, and she was able to have her own possessions around her in the room too, which meant so much to her. The care assistants were so attentive to both her and us as a family, and whenever we would visit, they always checked in with us to make sure we were also OK, and they made us feel welcome with cups of tea on hand! My mother spoke so highly of all of the care assistants and the Stowlangtoft Hall team, and she loved her daily interactions with all of them; they really made it possible for her to fully relax once she was there, which was so important to us in those times. We would highly recommend the Hall to anyone else.
My dear friend went to Stowlangtoft Hall for palliative care. From the start of her stay, until she passed away, the care, support and dignity given were exceptional. The staff and management are professional and dedicated and deliver support to their resident, family and friends.
My mother was able to move from a ward at West Suffolk Hospital into a lovely room at Stowlangtoft for palliative care. My brother and I had visited the nursing home before Mum arrived, and were immediately put at ease and given all of the information we needed to know that this was definitely the right decision for Mum to be kept most comfortable in her final days. All of the team at Stowlangtoft were amazing, very approachable, kind, caring and always professional. We were able to make Mum's room a home from home, which helped us all relax together and being able to be with Mum as much as we needed to be, was a massive help to us all. The quality of the palliative nursing care that Mum received was excellent, and we will be eternally grateful to the whole of the team, but especially to the nurses who helped Mum, and us all so much. As previously already said, words cannot begin to say how much we appreciate all that you did for my mother and us.
Excellent care for my mother. Nice range of activities that help keep her mind and body active at the age of 93. All staff are friendly, caring and helpful to both my mother and me. The carer took my mother to the hospital for an appointment when I was away on holiday.
