View Full Details of Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care HomeMum has only been in Bamfield for 2 months but has settled in well and enjoying her time there. The laid back atmosphere, helpful caring staff, cleanliness and food and drink options a plenty ensures my mind is at ease during her stay
I have to say the staff on reception, to all the girls upstairs, are extremely helpful and look after my auntie very well. Would totally recommend this care home, if you need anyone looking after you. My aunt is happier than she's been in years.
The staff were all very good and kind and helpful.
Each time I enter the home, there is a lovely atmosphere. All the staff are very caring and friendly and always happy to help. The management team are always happy to help and always very welcoming. I can not fault the home or the staff at Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care Home.
Since I chose Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care Home for my sister 6 months ago, although it is expensive, everything is as I expected it to be, good.
Amazing. The staff are fantastic and so understanding. So happy my wife is staying here.
Very good staff, nice room, clean rooms.
Perfect home in every way. My father-in-law is cared for exceptionally. Good menu - homecooked food.
From induction to pre-visit to site and during the two-week respite, the room was adjusted to suit Mum and Dad in the same room. The staff assistants could not do enough to encourage them to join in the daily activities. Food was 10/10. A very relaxing and friendly place and will be retuning in the near future for further respite.
Perfect environment for residents. Fabulous food. Staff are like family. Outstanding care home.
Overall, very good standard of care but room for improvement. Pleased that relatives are invited to a meeting to express our views and concerns.
Most of the carers are very caring and look after residents' needs. There are still some ongoing issues but hoping these will get resolved.
The care home has been so understanding and patient, their ability to aid and comfort in times of dementia and anxiety has been a lifesaver. They are like family supporting family, they go the extra mile to make sure you are ok in the process as well as their resident. The food is lovely and there is always an option to stay and eat with your loved one if you wish. It helps to know Mum can have friends over to eat with her.
I like Barchester Bamfield Lodge Care Home because staff are wonderful, all look after me beautifully. The food is delicious and have made good friends here and have lots of fun. Staff are friendly and the staff are excellent. I would like to go on trips out now the weather is better. I enjoyed the trip to the farm.
As soon as you walk into Bamfield, you feel at ease. It is very welcoming, bright and airy. It is like a hotel but with professional care included. The manager is a very caring lady who listens to how the family are feeling. That is so important when very heart-breaking, stressful decisions are being made about your loved ones. Thank you for caring and being there for me when I needed a shoulder to weep on. The team are jolly, supportive and caring. I would recommend this care lodge for respite or full-time care.
Mum has been there since August 2023, she settled in very well and made friends quickly. The staff is very good and if I have a question or query about Mum they are always helpful and reassuring. I am very happy with Mum there and the level of care given to her.
My father has had 2 weeks of respite care in your care home at Bamfield Lodge, it's wonderful like a 4-star hotel. Clean, fresh and a positive supportive atmosphere. The care staff are very professional, caring and attentive. I would recommend any family if in need of this kind of home full-time or for repsite. My father was taken care of very well, he loved the food and all the staff.
I find the staff friendly and always willing to help with any concerns I have. Mum is happy most of the time but thinks the staff are sometimes too busy, and they need more help. Overall we are happy with the current support to come up the only thing that is of concern is that car parking is very limited, and we find it difficult to park some days.
The care team always go above and beyond for my nan! The kitchen team are always asking residents to help plan the meals and menus. Activities put in lots of effort to make the activities person-centred. Management is keen to act on any worries brought to her and to put actions in place quickly.
Nice enough looking care home. The room facilities are very good. The garden could be better. Food is not the greatest. Some very lovely staff individually. However, the greatest problem here is that there is dreadful communication. Lots of different staff covering various shift patterns and the Manager is always in a meeting, never seen her in 6 weeks of my Father being here. Yesterday my Father ordered his tea/supper. After 45 minutes of waiting, nothing arrived. They had forgotten him and he would have not eaten if we had not been there. Really is not the best value for money care home out there. I would not recommend it.
