View Full Details of Druid Stoke Care HomeThe only 'criminal activity' I came across was the home-baked cakes (the black forest gateau - bliss!), the doughnuts and the chocolate pastries. I was unable to resist when offered these for afternoon tea or puddings; and put back the weight I'd lost before my hip replacement. I stayed at Druids Stoke for 3 weeks respite and thought I was in heaven. The staff were marvellous, friendly and attentive. What's more, the other 'inmates' were the lovely. In fact, the whole atmosphere at Druids Stoke was happy and uplifting. I attended the physiotherapy sessions twice a week and was glad that I had especially for the help in getting me on crutches safely, both along the corridors, then up and down the stairs. A heartfelt thank you to you all of you.
I spent 4 weeks in the Nursing Home part of Druid Stoke Nursing Home. The care was very good with caring, friendly and helpful staff. The food was good and they accommodated my needs, giving me plenty of fresh fruit rather than puddings. My room was comfortable and warm.
Between Christmas and New Year, my mum (then living in sheltered accommodation) decided she could not cope anymore - a number of medical complaints having been compounded by a fall. We got busy - contacted Druid Stoke (of which we had previous experience) and managed to get mum in on the same day. The 'admission process would normally require lots of admin support from people who (quite rightly) were on holiday. The Non-clinical Unit Lead made it happen. We are indebted to her. I would however like to acknowledge the whole team. Everyone we met was busy but went out of their way to be welcoming.
One lady is always very friendly and looks after Dad well. Always clean when visiting the site. Sometimes takes a while to get in but that's because they are very busy looking after the residents. Updated regularly on health etc.
When my mother arrived at Druid Stoke on 1 August we had no idea how long she would be there. She died within 3 months. I found that the staff varied from being efficient and businesslike at one end, to going way beyond what is expected at the other, treating my mother with love, affection and humour, attempting to make easier what was an increasingly difficult situation until her death. The dozen or so staff who cared for my mother operated as a network, each with their own responsibility, communicating her needs amongst them. As they became aware of her needs, which were sometimes changing day by day, they adjusted and attempted to provide for her creature comforts. I would like to commend the management for presiding over the whole system with grace and efficiency. Personally, I came to see Druid Stoke as a second home and the staff as an extended family. As one of their tasks is to care not just for the resident, but for their residents' loved ones
My dad's overall experience continues to be a positive one in all aspects from the activities, lots of company, an excellent menu, not to mention the genuine care and concern show by all members of the staff.
Druid Stoke has been my dad's home for over six years. He has been and is very content living there. The carers look after him well and are kind to my dad and the other residents. The care staff are pro-active regarding my dad's existing and newly developing medical issues. Druid Stoke occupies an older building and has the advantage of feeling more homely than some modern purpose-built residential facilities.
My mother moved to Druid Stoke following discharge from the hospital in July 2024. The staff here are really helpful and welcoming, they spent time ensuring that they found out about Mum's likes and dislikes regarding all aspects of her care, this certainly helped her to settle in very quickly. If we have any queries they are responded to quickly and any issues are dealt with. When visiting Mum we are always made to feel very welcome with staff stressing that this should feel like home. Mum recently had her 89th birthday and we were able to use the dining room for a family celebration which was lovely. The home is always clean and fresh when we visit. I would not hesitate to recommend Druid Stoke Care Home to potential residents.
My father came after the residential home he had been in said they could no longer care for him. From day one the staff at Druid Stoke were exceptional in their patience and understanding of Dad's requirements. As his medical needs changed due to the progression of his Parkinson's nothing was a problem. We received excellent advice and recommendations at every stage, through to the eventual passing of my Dad. We were kept informed of any developments even through the weekends. My dad was extremely happy with the care he was receiving and the nursing staff were always happy and welcoming and able to explain if anything had happened during our absence. Right to the end my dad was happy comfortable and pain-free and passed away peacefully with one of his favourite nurses by his side. I cannot recommend Druid Stoke highly enough. They have been exceptional.
My mum has been in Druid Stoke for two years and we are very happy with the care she receives. Druid Stoke's greatest asset is its staff. They are very caring, engaging and empathetic and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a good variety of entertainment for the residents such as games, films, and physio. The care home seems to be a happy place.
Druid Stoke has been my mum's home for the last year. She is very happy there and really likes the staff who look after her every need. Mum does not feel happy to take part in the numerous daily activities, so receives regular 'one-to-ones' in her room. She spends much of her time in bed, and the staff can easily be summoned on her call button. She also has a regular hairdresser and chiropodist visiting. The home has a link with a local doctor who makes regular visits. There is a large variety of good food with regular cups of tea and cakes/biscuits. The home is a credit to the industry, and we feel really lucky to have found it for Mum.
I came to Druid Stoke for respite care to recover from an accident and two weeks in hospital. The care and help I have received cannot be faulted and all the staff charming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
Very attentive, happy staff. Good strong, clear management. Clean home.
My mother-in-law was at Druid Stoke for 2 years. During her time at the home, she was cared for with kindness, dignity and laughter from all staff. Her last few months were spent in the nursing unit when her health began to deteriorate. All the family wish Druid Stoke our thanks for making an elderly lady's last years happy.
What a find! Druid Stoke Care Home is a handsome listed building with a sunny garden and is a wonderful care home in every respect. Public rooms and bedrooms are clean and bright. The staff are really caring, friendly, understanding and efficient. There are social activities and daily menu choices and there's a lovely atmosphere from the moment you enter the home. My husband has had three respite stays here and I can't fault the care that is taken of him. Thank you!
I cannot rate Druid Stoke and their wonderful staff highly enough. My father came here following surgery and was in the nursing section due to dressings needing to be changed. The improvement in my father during his two-week stay was remarkable and this was definitely down to the care of such wonderful staff who understood him, his needs and went out of their way to ensure he was happy and felt looked after. By the time he left to go home he was walking the corridors waving at other residents and helping with the tea trolley, even doing physio and activities in the day room which I would never have said he would do beforehand. Thank you so much, in time to come if we are looking for care for either of my parents this will be the first place we come too! Thank you.
Wonderful, kind and caring team. Clean and tidy rooms. Pleasant and tranquil decorations with a quirky sense of love for life ambience. The perfect place, if there ever is one, for end-of-life care for my father. Thank you so much to the lovely care home manager who made me so welcome and went out of her way to accommodate me and my dad's last wishes, she even joined us and held his hand with me as he passed. Amazing service, thank you.
My mother spent two weeks trialling the home over Christmas and then made the decision to move here permanently. The home has a lovely homely feel - the decor and furnishings are of high quality - with a country house feel. Most importantly, the quality of the care she has received has been exceptional. All staff at the home have been incredibly friendly and caring and great care is taken with each resident. A lot of thought goes into the activities and there is a very warm welcome whenever I visit. There appear to be plenty of caters on hand to provide support and, having visited many times while mum settles in, I can vouch for the level of individual care and attention provided. The staff here really appear to want to do a great job. Mum feels safe and happy and has settled in so much quicker than she and we expected. This lovely home is a million miles away from some of the horror stories you read about. Very happy we chose Druid Stoke.
All the staff at Druid Stoke Care Home were brilliant. They cared for me, ensuring I was comfortable and safe. The nursing staff were very considerate of my pain and helped with medication. Respectful housekeeping and carers were so kind and helpful. All staff were kind, considerate and very friendly and supportive. They made my respite stay enjoyable. Thank you so much for everything. Food was mostly satisfactory, sometimes good, sometimes poor.
My mother was a resident of the care home for over three years. Her health deteriorated about six weeks ago, and following several visits to the hospital, she was transferred back to the nursing home in the adjoining building. The staff in both places treated my mum with respect and great care, and she looked upon all of them as an extension of her own family. My family and I owe the staff so much for ensuring that her final years were spent in a safe environment.
