View Full Details of St Georges Care HomeMy wife has been a resident at the home for four weeks and I have found the care provided by the staff to be very good and very caring. I have had several problems with a resident entering my wife's room, causing her distress and despite my family making complaints, this continues to happen daily.
Always made welcome by staff, offered tea or coffee. Very impressed with the staff's attitude. My friend is very happy.
All the staff are so welcoming and supportive. A very caring support to family and friends. Overall, very happy with the care the residents receive. Clean rooms, good food and excellent service.
Mum has only been in St Georges for two months, but she is settled in very nicely! She likes the staff, facilities and the food. St Georges is better in her view than her previous care home. She says that she is in 'the best place' for her.
My wife came to St Georges Care Home on February 20th 2023. The first few months were difficult at first. She seems to be settling in much better now. I visit with my son three times a week. I noticed the care home was spotlessly clean, also nice and warm. The home has lovely care staff that are happy and hard-working. My wife enjoys all the food there. We all had Christmas dinner together, really nice.
A majority of staff are very helpful and friendly. When approaching staff and management I feel I get a positive response.
By and large the treatment by the staff is generally good. The room is a little small, but the view is very pleasant overlooking the garden with plenty of wildlife in evidence. Sometimes there appears to be a lack of sufficient number of staff on occasion. The food is varied and has improved, and the portions are very satisfactory.
I cannot give enough praise for St George’s Home and it’s staff. My father received good friendly professional care. They welcomed me and were supportive through his last months. Good activities and food as well. I thank them all.
The lady who was my contact was a very nice lady, explained everything - very easy. Straightforward procedure to care for my uncle for a two-week holiday. Will definitely use it again. More importantly - Uncle felt loved in there.
My mum recently moved here. The staff have and do work incredibly hard to get Mum settled. The care provided to Mum is exemplary. We are able to visit whenever we want within reason and don't need to book in advance. I've met the regional support manager, and I see the deputy manager on most visits. The management team have an open-door policy. All the staff are happy in their roles. Any issues are dealt with promptly. Mum is the best I've seen her in years. Thank you all. The laundry lady is great.
Having worked all my life in hotels, the most important this is the feel-good factor of St Georges in a special and caring team.
The home is very clean and tidy. The home care staff are good, but the agency staff leaves a lot, and it appears they are only here for the money.
What a lovely day with Mum celebrating the Coronation. All the staff are lovely - they were very entertaining. Mum had such a wonderful time. Thank you ever so much.
Overall, very good through the pandemic and after. I feel comfortable and safe. The staff are very good and will do anything they can for you. The food is excellent. The cleaners are very good. Everyone goes over and above their duties, including the nursing staff.
My aunt has been happy at St Georges. Sometimes the personal care is not delivered early enough in the morning for her, as she likes to be up and ready early. Despite this, the staff are lovely, the home has a warm atmosphere, and she is happy.
St Georges Care Home is one of the best nursing homes. Whenever we visited my aunt, she never complained; she told us that the staff looked after her with great care, and we couldn't ask for more. Big thank you to the manager and the staff. You were amazing.
Mum was discharged from the hospital in November 2022. We selected St Georges Care Home because Mum has previously been there for eight weeks of respite care, and she was pleased with the care she received; therefore, it was the obvious choice. We did have some issues during her second term, but these were quickly resolved by the managers. Mum was well looked after and was shown courtesy and respect by the care team.
Kind and caring staff.
When Mum was at St Georges, she felt happy and contented. All staff were very loving and careful towards her. Although she lost her voice, the carers took time to listen to her whispering, which made her feel she was not isolated. Mum was never one to "participate" in many activities, but due to the kind and gentle ways of the staff, she admitted that she had enjoyed the many activities on offer. So, I would like to thank everyone at St Georges and wish the home every success in the future.
Moving Mother to St Georges Care Home was the best decision my family made. She lived happily there for 18 years, surrounded by staff (cleaners, laundry, admin and nursing) who made time to chat. She loved hearing stories about their families. Friends and family were also welcome; her sister was always made a fuss of. The reception staff were helpful, being willing to pass on messages to my mother when we telephoned. When we visited, the staff were cheerful, describing my mother's antics and characteristics in a moving way. A special thanks to the cook for adjusting the texture of the food and persuading her to eat more, and her key workers are the year for their patience.
