View Full Details of Meadowcare HomeMy mum was given the utmost professional care during the end-of-life care at this wonderful nursing home. From the moment I arrived on my initial visit, I was made to feel so welcome and this view was sustained by the actual experience. Warm, attentive, diligent staff. Inspiring activities, comfortable communal areas and bedrooms. I highly recommend Meadowcare as a place where care is not just a word.
I had a good experience as my Mum was either in her room or in the downstairs room. The staff were very helpful in helping obtain a health declaration I needed. One minor issue is that you can be stuck inside or outside the front door, waiting to be buzzed in or out. The bigger issue seems to be delays getting out.
Everyone you meet at the home is very friendly and happy to see you, which is nice. I always feel welcome when I visit my relative. The newsletter is always full of fun and interesting activities which are carried out monthly. My relative is very happy staying there and much prefers it to the place where she was before.
Throughout the year the staff at the care home have done an excellent job caring for mother, who can be a handful at times. That's a lot to do where being in charge and not liking people telling her what to do. She has lost the power in her legs and can't get around, it's a real downer. Mum's always been capable being a here, there, everywhere person. It's a real bane for her to comprehend.
My family and I are very happy with the level of care that my mother has received during her time at Meadowcare. The staff are very helpful and attentive to her needs and always able to provide feedback on questions asked.
My mother has settled in really well. The staff have obviously taken time to get to know her and there is a really family feel to the home. Carers are friendly and they are quick to respond to my mother's needs.
Excellent family atmosphere. Staff know all names of residents family. Always made very welcome. All concerns dealt with promptly and with efficiency. A very safe, secure, happy environment for my husband.
The staff at Meadowcare have shown such kindness and care while our mother was with them. She always looked well cared for and was happy there. Nothing was too much trouble. We also felt very welcome when we visited.
Wonderful kind caring staff who treat people with dignity. Amazing staff!
We placed our mum with Meadowcare from October 2023 to May 2024 when she passed away. Throughout the process, the Meadowcare team were excellent at what they did, kept us fully informed about her health and happiness and cared for her brilliantly. At the end, the staff were enormously sensitive and left us to experience Mum’s final moments. She had a peaceful and beautiful passing as a result. We would highly recommend Meadowcare to others. Thank you Meadowcare for everything.
Hi, my mum received excellent care at the Meadowcare Home. She has come to think of the girls as part of the family and has offered them to come home with her. The atmosphere was upbeat and all around a genuinely pleasant place for her to reside while things were in motion to get her home. The carers would go above and beyond in the care they took to look after her.
Meadowcare are brilliant! My grandad was always looked after, he was always clean, happy and I don’t have a bad word to say! The staff are friendly and caring. Thanks for everything you have done for my grandad, my family appreciate it all. In the last years of my grandad's life, we as a family felt my grandad was in safe hands. If something was up, my family were always kept updated and informed. We had regular photo updates and could see how relaxed and comfortable he really was. There were lots of activities that my grandad participated in, which he enjoyed and he always had a smile on his face.
I would like to thank all the staff at Meadowcare Home for everything they have done to provide excellent care for my beloved father for 18 months. We were always made very welcome, tea and coffee on every visit. Excellent activities, friendly, helpful, and everyone always had a smile. I would definitely recommend this dementia care home as one of the best in Bristol. Thank you Meadowcare Home.
Not sure if teeth cleaning is a priority, I know staff are very busy but dental hygiene is said to be important for general health. Could residents be encouraged to go to the toilet as opposed to waiting for them to ask? Everyone I have met at Meadowcare has been outstanding, always cheerful, alert, helpful and kind, both to residents and visitors.
We are always welcomed with open arms, very pleased to how this person is being looked after with care and passion, we enjoy visiting. The only problem is the parking as we have a disabled car so it is a big problem on that road.
Mum was welcomed to Meadowcare Home in mid-August. She was welcomed with open arms into a very warm, homely atmosphere. Though she was only there for a short time and was well cared for by a diligent and professional staff who communicated with us well.
When your mum's GP describes the care home staff as very hardworking and very caring, you know you have found the right place for her. Meadowcare treats its residents and visitors as a family and is friendly and welcoming. There are lots of fun activities for the residents. Visitors are also encouraged to join in too, which is great. There are celebrations of seasonal events throughout the year. My mum enjoyed her 93rd birthday with a delicious chocolate cake made especially for her and the staff all sang Happy Birthday to her. Photos of the many happy moments are displayed in the lounge and on the regular newsletter. The staff are also quick and calm to act in times of crisis, treating people with respect and care. Meadowcare is fairly small, with only 34 residents. So, the staff get to know them and their visitors well, which is lovely.
Whilst walking through this stunning home, that is set out with the residents in mind the staff are all friendly and approachable. I have visited this home on more than one occasion and every time I am blown away by the commitment and level of care that the staff provide to the residents. There is always a warm welcome at the front of the home and the manager is friendly and easy to speak with and shows great pride and support for all her staff. Staff have shown good communication skills not only amongst each other but also with the residents, making sure that they are actively listening to the residents and respecting their wishes and preferences. They show a high level of person-centred values offering choices and making sure they work in a way that is best for the resident and how the resident wants. The staff are caring, compassionate, competent and committed to a high standard of care. Each and every resident's dignity is upheld to the highest of standards.
My mum was placed here. Everyone has been very kind to her and to our family. It is a very clean place. Well led and staff always smile. Very grateful.
My Mum was taken into Meadowcare at the end of January as she entered the final weeks of her life. I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received. She was treated with respect, compassion and always in a dignified way. I felt she was safe there and always being so well looked after. This was made possible by the staff - from the manager to the receptionist and all the care staff. Thank you for looking after my Mum in her last few days.
