View Full Details of Glebe HouseMum has been living at Glebe House since March 2023. It has been a real refuge for her. She was anxious and recently bereaved when she arrived and was helped to settle by the lovely and patient staff. As the months have gone on she has become more and more settled. She is really valued as an individual and has a great quality of life. As her children, myself and my siblings all feel included and welcome each time we visit. Glebe House is a lovely place. Thank you.
My mother is well cared for and is always happy and content. The staff are always helpful, professional and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The kindness they have shown to my mother is very much appreciated by the family.
My husband has become completely dependent on the wonderful carers at Glebe House as he is bedridden and getting weaker with time. They care for his every need, be it hygiene, meals and any request he makes, they will do everything possible to make it happen. Myself and family are able to go away after visiting knowing he is safe, well cared for and comfortable, he says everyone is like family. Thank you all so much.
Excellent place, very welcoming with brilliant staff. Great communication with family.
My wife has been a resident for over 4 years. Her condition is such that she needs 24-hour care and is unable to anything for herself. The staff and management are wonderful and I am grateful that my wife is a resident at Glebe House. This home rates extremely highly in my opinion and over the years she has been here we have never encountered any material problems.
Glebe House is a wonderful nursing home that is fully supportive and inclusive for all residents. It has a very friendly and welcoming environment facilitated by the lovely, hard-working and dedicated members of staff who go above and beyond to ensure all residents feel at home. A wide range of activities are offered to all residents and group trips are encouraged on a regular basis. The social media page is excellent and updated constantly to allow relatives and friends that are unable to visit a chance to view the latest information.
Glebe House is a grand building with beautiful grounds and views. Dad enjoys being taken around the grounds in his wheelchair. The home is clean and welcoming. The staff are polite and friendly. In the two years my dad has been in the home he has built up a good relationship with the staff. The regular staff know him well and know all his care needs and preferences which is very reassuring for him. There is entertainment and group activities organised and there are trips out in a minibus. Also, there is a disability vehicle available for taking Dad out. Overall I feel Glebe House is a good nursing home.
My mum has been at Glebe House for 2.5 years and her ability to do things has deteriorated but the staff are so caring that I have no worries. Mum is safe, happy and treated with care and love by the staff. Nothing is too much trouble, if I want to raise anything then I can approach management and they arrange a meeting with the nursing staff to explain to me how things are going. Very happy. 10/10.
The care home is very pleasant. My father is well cared for and is kept clean and comfortable. He seems in good spirits most of the time. His room is large and the door is always open so he can hear everything and staff drop in to say hi. The medical care is good and he is kept stable and pain-free. There is always something going on but he is not very sociable but likes to talk to the staff about the places he has visited as he has travelled extensively in his youth. The facilities are great in a beautiful setting and he sits by the window and watches the wildlife. He can watch TV and enjoys the food although he has a specific diet, but everyone is accommodating with his needs. He gets moody at times but is always treated with respect. It is easily accessible for mum to visit as it is only a short drive from home.
Excellent care home. Helpful and friendly staff. Good communication with family and always welcome to visit.
I really can't praise Glebe House enough! The staff are absolutely wonderful, so kind and caring. The house is set in beautiful grounds with amazing views across the river. The decor is delightful and the cleanliness faultless. The dining room is charming and the food is of a very high standard. There is an excellent daily activities schedule, including frequent live musical events and numerous outings in the minibus. My mother has been a resident at Glebe House since June 2024 and I am thrilled with the standard of care and the kindness shown both to her and myself.
My husband has been at Glebe House for a year. The care he receives within The Orchard Unit is very good. He receives care and attention from the nurses, carers and even the ancillary staff for which his family is extremely grateful. The grounds of Glebe House are a huge asset for us as my husband loves to be outside, even for a short circuit, even on a winter's day. We all know that the great outdoors is good for our wellbeing. Thank you.
The home and the staff were like family to my mum, in that her well-being and best interests were their main concern. I always felt that her days were shared with friends and were filled with interesting and beneficial activities. Mum always referred to to Glebe as her home even when she, like many her age, perhaps longed for a 'home' found only in their distant past. I know that had Mum not been at Glebe House these past three years, her life would have been quite lonely and uninspired. Thank you for maintaining a high quality of life for Mum.
Glebe House care home is a place that really does care. All the staff provide a warm and friendly welcome to everyone, to residents and families alike. The support my dad received during his four years at Glebe House was excellent and, as family members, we could all rest in comfort knowing he was in safe hands. My dad, and all the other residents I know, were always happy with and greatly enjoyed the many activities and outings laid on for them. In short, Glebe House care home is a gem. Thank you for being such a great team!
For the short time Mum was at Glebe House (month) she was cared for by all staff. From the management to the laundry, all were very caring. She was helped to dress and enjoyed eating and taking part in all the activities provided by the team. Thank you for making her last days comfortable and happy.
This is a wonderful home. The environment the residents live in is warm and friendly and their rooms are very homely. The staff are outstanding - the dedication and care they show is very humbling. Thank you for looking after my mum.
The care for my father during his four years at Glebe House has been excellent. The staff have been very supportive and have responded quickly to any issues raised. The home is well-maintained and clean and is in a lovely location with pleasant grounds where residents can sit during the summer months. He was taken ill in October 2023, and the attention to his needs was superb. He was made comfortable and given medication and nutrition to a daily schedule. He was shown great respect by all the staff.
Very good care home, staff are great, facilities are good but some are outdated. Great to be able to use the van, the team are brilliant and so supportive to me and Mum and I have to say you have a little star in one staff member in particular. Probably four stars out of five is not quite enough.
My mum has been living at Glebe House Care Home since February this year. I have found the staff extremely kind, helpful and diligent in looking after my mum. She has now settled into the routine of the home (after, understandably, being very confused and distressed at first) and this is largely the result of the staff taking great care of her and using their expertise to manage the situation. If I ever have any questions the staff are always quick to respond and to inform me of any concerns that they may have with my mum. I can see that my mum is as content as she can be (being that she has dementia) and I am very glad that we chose Glebe House as her home. I highly recommend!
My wife has been a resident at Glebe House for four and a half years suffering from dementia. In that time, I have never had cause to worry about the quality of care she receives. I visit regularly and always receive a warm welcome from staff. The location is idyllic and entering feels like entering a comfortable home. It is spotlessly clean throughout. In all those who work there I see caring, dedicated professionals who take pride in their work. Covid obviously caused problems and curtailed visits for a while but regular bulletins and phone calls ensured we were kept up to date and as soon as possible visits were restarted, firstly controlled and then returned to normal. The pandemic was handled calmly and professionally throughout, despite putting a considerable strain on all staff. They have my utmost gratitude and admiration. As my wife's needs have increased so has the level of care given. I have no doubt that she is in the best place for her condition. I know others who have had contact with Glebe who share my view.
