View Full Details of Castle Hill HouseWe were so lucky to find Castle Hill and mum has lived here now for nearly two years. Everyone has been so supportive in that time. The atmosphere is always welcoming and the staff are so friendly and caring. The activities are so well planned, going above and beyond for the residents to have a wonderful time. Everything is always covered from medical matters to laundry and beyond. The food is excellent and chef's birthday cakes a great favourite. The list of praise goes on! We cannot thank you all enough.
My mum moved into Castle Hill House in December 2024. We were so pleased she settled so well. She is 90 and needed more nursing than I could give at home. The staff are so nice, nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Castle Hill.
After being discharged from hospital and unable to cope at home, dad has spent over eighteen months at Castle Hill House where he has been very well cared for. Everyone has been very supportive and always available to chat with him, establishing good relationships. The home is in a nice setting, is clean and welcoming with good facilities. A wide and regular range of entertainments is offered and visitors always felt welcomed. Both the care team and management have communicated well with me as events unfold. I am very grateful for the quality of care offered and friendly attitude of everyone at Castle Hill House.
Dad uses Castle Hill House for respite care and always returns home happy, full of praise for the staff and accommodation and always happy to go back. It's very reassuring for our family to know he is happy where he is.
I'm very pleased with the standards, my uncle is very happy. Staff quick to spot anything wrong. The is always clean, with no smells that you can get. All the residents have a lovely time with entertainment they provide. Everyone on the staff is very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't want my uncle to be anywhere else. Top marks.
My dear wife has been a resident in Castle Hill House now for almost 4 years and my satisfaction and utmost thanks to all the staff grows and grows with each day. The facilities are all of the highest order as is the food and standard of care. I am continually awed at the generous behaviour towards myself and the fabulous regard felt towards us both. There are many organised activities with outside visitors adding to the variety. I am so pleased that my wife is a resident in this outstanding care home.
As a family, we feel very fortunate that our dad is settled in such a lovely, privately owned care home. The staff are helpful, friendly, efficient and most importantly caring in their work. Walking into Castle Hill House you are always greeted with a smile and are made to feel welcome. It has a comfortable, homely feel. Dad has a good size, light and clean room, with easy access to his bathroom and a nearby lounge. There's always an extensive range of activities on offer, the musical entertainment visits are a particular favourite for him. The food looks delicious too and visitors are always welcome, with no constraints on timings, which is beneficial as I live a distance away. Well done to everyone at Castle Hill, we appreciate your thoughtfulness and caring.
Mum moved into Castle Hill House in October, after trying a two week respite stay. She has settled in very quickly. Mum regularly comments on how kind, friendly and helpful all the staff are and this fits with my experience when I visit. I have also found the senior staff to be very helpful and professional whenever I have had a query, and they make sure I am kept up to date. The activities are exceptionally well organised and varied and mum has been given a lot of support to get involved. The kitchen copes well with mum's dietary needs.
My brother and sister in law have been residents at Castle Hill House since March 2021. I live 250 miles away so am not able to make regular visits, but when I do I am welcomed and the atmosphere is good. I am kept informed by staff and have regular zoom calls with my relatives. Staff are kind and helpful and seem to have a very good rapport with my relatives.
My mum enjoyed her stay and found that all the staff at Castle Hill House were friendly and very helpful. She is looking forward to staying again.
The home looked after my mother beautifully for almost three years. The staff were lovely. We were very fortunate to find this home. Recommend strongly.
Mum is generally very happy at Castle Hill House and any complaints from her are really just because she's having an off day rather than anything ongoing. I find the staff extremely friendly and helpful to her. The home does not seem to rely heavily on agency staff so there are always familiar people around which must be good for residents with dementia. The surroundings at the home are pleasant and everything seems well organised, especially the amount of activities on offer which mum enjoys. I find any issues I need to raise are promptly dealt with. My only negative comment is the call system in operation which means an almost constant background noise of the call bell ringing. Also, I have only given 4 stars for cleanliness as there are sometimes cobwebs in Mum's room and bits and pieces of things she has dropped left under the bed.
My uncle has been a resident at Castle Hill House for approximately 13 years. He is very happy at Castle Hill. He doesn't participate in any of the organised activities, but that is his choice and he is happy not to do so. He seems to enjoy his food, and when I have visited him at meal times, I have commented on how the food looks very nice. The staff I have met seem very kind and friendly, which is very important. My only negative comment is that his walls could do with a coat of paint, but I think the home is aware.
My mum is settled and content at Castle Hill. She is well looked after. She enjoys the activities and the company. Her room is comfortable and she has her own ensuite. She particularly enjoys her meals.
1st class service, very attentive to my husband. Nothing too much trouble. Well looked after.
My Mother after being diagnosed with vascular dementia had a 2-week respite stay at Castle Hill House in February, which she enjoyed. In April she returned as a permanent resident. All the staff are very friendly, kind, and caring with an extra special mention to the Activity Coordinator, who goes above and beyond to bring some fun and sunshine to the resident's lives. The food is very good and all the communal areas are bright, clean, and welcoming. The resident's rooms are cosy, comfortable and can be personalised with personal belongings. I am very happy that Mum has now settled in and is now living her best possible life, in a lovely home!
My Mother had needed respite, following two falls on consecutive days. She had become overtired. Castle Hill gave her the care she needed to rest and recuperate. Her negative feelings towards care homes have completely gone. Fantastic food. Wonderful staff and spotlessly clean. Now happy to return to enable her to be independent should she need a rest.
The staff really upped their game as my father's health declined. They have always been good, but when he needed extra care, they responded really well. There were a lot of visits and generally checking to see that all was OK. They went the extra mile to try and find out why he wasn't feeling so well.
Staff very welcoming and very obliging. My wife is bedridden and cannot enjoy the full facilities and activities hence left comments blank. They call on her frequently so she is never unattended for long. Their response is fairly quick to personal alarm. Food is excellent and reaction to special requests is very good and at any time of the day. Medicines are readily given.
The staff really threw themselves into activities over the festive season. Creating a fun and cheerful atmosphere both for residents and their visitors. The care home was a warm and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you enter the first set of doors and continues throughout, which is why it was chosen. Security, care and resident's welfare are high on their agenda. A great place.
