View Full Details of Hillcrest House LtdMy father was a recent resident at Hillcrest for approx 9 months, and the care & kindness he was shown in his final days was incredible. Each time I visited, I was always given a warm welcome, and then some much needed support towards the end of his time. Every single member of staff is fantastic, there arent enough words to describe how amazing they all are. The food is great, and you can add touches from home to the rooms so Dad felt more settled. Dad was treated with dignity and compassion, and it's something I will forever be grateful for. Thank you all so much.
I would like all the staff to know how much we as a family valued the care my father received in the last few months of his life in the Trevenna Unit of Hillcrest House LTD. On our visits there was always a friendly member of staff to discuss Dad's health. We were all kept well informed. Everyone was very kind, patient and professional. Dad was very well looked after, with individual personal care and friendly words. Our mother was also welcomed each day on her visits, being given cups of tea and chats and even lunch. Dad had a lovely room where family photos were displayed on the walls, his own blankets, cushions and accessories were accommodated giving a homely touch. Thank you.
This review is hard to write as my Mum only passed away on 17th October 2024 but the care/compassion/dignity she received from everyone at Hillcrest certainly made her passing slightly less painful. Every step of the way everything was explained as to what they were doing. My mum looked so comfortable and at peace with nothing ever being too much trouble. They promised they would look after her/make her comfortable and never be in pain and that is what everyone did. Everyone there made us as a family feel at ease and welcomed from the cups of tea and friendly faces.
My mum has spent 8 weeks respite at this nursing home this year. 4 lots of 2 weeks. Each time my brother and I have felt at ease leaving her in the care of such warm and kind-hearted staff. Mum has dementia but the staff treat her like family. I have no doubt she is looked after very well. I would not want any other care home to look after her.
My sister was recently admitted to the Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was very ill and died after 11 days of being there. I wanted to say how very kind and caring all the staff were, from the management to the cleaning lady. There was a family feeling, but on the other hand, everyone was very professional and compassionate. I can recommend this nursing home.
Having had the experience of our elderly neighbour being admitted to Hillcrest House, we found a very kind and welcoming atmosphere from all the staff, in a difficult time, but with the kindness and empathy given to my husband and I and our elderly neighbour. We would just like to say thank you very much for the care shown at Hillcrest House by all members of staff. They are a credit to the profession.
Always get a warm welcome from the staff when I visit and are very caring. Also, lots of activities are organised for the residents. Good atmosphere especially in the Trevenna/Hendra unit and staff are interested in their whole background which must help in looking after them.
On visiting my friend who resides at Hillcrest, I found the home to be friendly clean and caring. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for the residents. It's really nice to see that my friend has settled in so well.
The staff at Hillcrest House work tirelessly for the residents. Whenever I visit, the residents are well turned out and treated as equals by the staff. Hillcrest's strength is that the staff create a community atmosphere within the home. A community that is a privilege to be a part of when I am there. The home attends to all areas of need in life. Activities, spiritual needs, as well as the usual care you would expect. The staff in the home seem to constantly go above and beyond the expected. I cannot recommend Hillcrest highly enough.
Awesome experience.
Mum is well cared for and all the staff understand her needs. A bigger choice of food would be appreciated. Particular thanks to those who wash, dress and undress her and assist her with her worsening incontinence and Alzheimer's.
I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and support my grandad receives. The staff go above and beyond to ensure not only his physical well-being but also his emotional comfort. It's evident that the staff truly care about the residents, fostering a sense of community and companionship. My grandad feels safe, happy, and cherished, and that brings our family immense peace of mind. I highly recommend Hillcrest to anyone seeking compassionate and high-quality care for their loved ones.
The staff are wonderful. The kindness and level of care given to my father-in-law is amazing, it helps us know he is so well supported. The food on offer has really improved under the new chef, and the activities especially with one staff member in particular are great, hearing all the residents laughing is a joy. The building itself is tired in places but work is taking place. A wonderful home.
I am very happy with the care my mother is having especially now she is getting out of her bed and into the lounge with the other residents. Although she is deaf and cannot interact with others, she is able to see other people around. This is I feel better for her mental health. The staff are always very present and caring to my mother.
I and my family are very satisfied with the home and staff, but sometimes are concerned there should be more staff on duty.
I have found all of the staff at Hillcrest amazing. They have supported me and my family every since my dad has been living at the home. The atmosphere is always positive and happy. The home is clean and tidy but is a bit tired in places but on the whole a lovely home.
Excellent service, friendly, helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent care provided.
The staff all seem very caring. Mum has advanced dementia so it's not possible to get her views on anything.
My wife has been in Hillcrest House for 2 and a half years and I am happy with the care she receives. All the staff I have met have been pleasant and professional. The nurses and carers in the unit are very caring and strive to do a good job caring doe the physical, mental and emotional needs of the resident. Mostly the caring staff are regulars with little turnover but at times, there are not enough of them which leads to little stimulation/entertainment activity. There does not appear to be a regular programme of events and the communication between the home and relatives could be improved.
Staff are very good, caring and supportive. Catering much improved in recent months. Rooms and communal facilities very clean but rooms and bathrooms now looking tired and in need of refurbishment. Activities most days keep Mum motivated. The home is getting back to something like it was due to the staff at Hillcrest.
