View Full Details of St Martin's Residential and Nursing HomeMy wife is well looked after at St Martin's Residential and Nursing Home. My family are very happy with the staff and conditions.
I have been to visit many a time and have found the staff to be very friendly and approachable. My sister is very happy with the care from the team. Especially one member of staff who has been so helpful.
The care and support given not only to my sister but to us as a family were excellent. My sister was only cared for by our team for a few weeks but it was exemplary and I would not hesitate to recommend your home.
Since my dad arrived at the home in August of last year, the entire staff have been fully supportive of Dad and my wider family. They just cannot do enough. All requests are supported, information is relayed promptly, and decisions are explained. At a difficult time for all of us, we have been treated with thought and genuine care. Thank you.
From the moment my nan was placed in St Martins's care, she was looked after extremely well and treated with dignity at all times, which completely put my mind at ease after being her main carer. I visited every day at different times, and she was always kept clean, staff were so friendly and would always offer refreshments and provide updates on how she had been. All paperwork was kept up to date, and everything was always explained well. St Martin's gives off a homely feel, the dining table beautifully laid out, with colour-coordinated decor. After several months in the hospital and at another place where she was extremely unsettled, I finally heard her say how lovely it was, which brought great comfort to us. During her final hours, the staff went above and beyond to support us, and more importantly, my nan was shown kindness, great care and the utmost dignity. Thank you all so very much.
Mum has been in St Martins since July this year. It took her a while to settle, but since her medication was sorted out, she is much happier. Her room is small but clean, and she has everything she needs. Her appetite has improved, and she enjoys the meals. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. There have been issues with shoes, slippers and teeth going missing, but overall, I am happy with the care she is receiving and that she is safe.
The team at St Martin's has treated my mum with dignity and respect. The team are open, friendly and will discuss any concerns or worries you may have. It has been difficult to relinquish care as I was Mum's main carer but the team and myself are building a good relationship and I can see she is happy and enjoys herself when activities take place. The food is excellent, the place is spotless and the manager is efficient and friendly. The carers are always kind and caring towards Mum and she says they are very good. What more do you need!
My close neighbour and friend has been a resident in St Martin's for 15 months. On my regular visits, he has always been well cared for. His bedroom and bed linen are always immaculate. Meal tables are beautifully set with menus and napkins. Staff are polite, kind and considerate. My friend is always treated with courtesy and kindness, meals are varied and well served with attention to the ability of the residents to cope.
I have been visiting my wife at St Martin's regularly for over a year, and I have been very impressed with the service they provide. My wife is always clean and well-dressed, and although she suffers from advanced dementia, she seems very happy. The carers work extremely hard, but they always treat the residents with dignity and respect. The rooms, although not large, are bright, airy and are cleaned regularly. The food and drink is excellent, and the residents enjoy regular activities. The management and staff work hard to ensure the residents are happy, cared for and safe. I am confident that my dear wife is being well looked after.
My husband has been in St Martin's House for over a year. I found the staff hard working and caring and treated my husband with a great deal of dignity, love and respect. I visit my husband after, and when I'm not there, I feel reassured that he is very well cared for! The meals provided are excellent! I can't thank the staff enough! I found also the staff are the same towards all the residents that are also cared for!
I found all of the staff, particularly the receptionist and carers, very professional and dedicated. My mother feels safe and cared for. Well done, team.
The staff and management were so very helpful and couldn't do enough. Nothing was too much trouble, and all staff and management (even the cleaners) made a point of speaking to the residents when they passed. My mother is very comfortable and happy with staying there. Five stars for the St Martin's team. Thank you.
I visit my friend once a week, and although saddened by her gradual fading away, I have been comforted by the kindness and concern with which she is being looked after. The staff are unfailingly kind, and the rooms are pleasant and were obliging about installing a bird feeder outside her window, so she could watch the birds. I have been saddened by the presence of one resident whose calls for attention involve a great deal of unsettling shouting and wriggling out of his chair onto the floor. I wonder if some kind of seat belt might not be arranged to prevent him from slipping out?
My mother was released to St Martin's from the hospital for full-time nursing care. She is 100 years old in April 2023 and had several falls at home, is particularly blind, very little mobility and can't hear (every with hearing aids). The team at St Martin's have been excellent and made her feel safe and secure and so very kind from reception right down to carers, cleaners and kitchen. Food is excellent. I cannot praise them all enough, it is a real sanctuary.
Mum was a resident for about 2 years. The rooms are homely and personalised. The day rooms are bright and spacious and decorated to a high standard. The walls are adorned with themed artefacts and photos of residents. Having spent many hours at the home, I witnessed all the nurses, carers and domestic staff treating all residents with genuine affection and respect at all times. Mum enjoyed the entertainment especially the lively singing and dancing. It was so lovely to watch the residents come alive and have a great time. Myself and my sisters were provided with endless refreshments and comfort from an amazing team of people who do an amazing job. I have so much respect for those that are not paid a huge wage for doing such an important job. My family are so very grateful for the excellent care that mum received and the genuine love and affection she was given. We can't thank you enough. Particular thanks to the 4 staff members that attended her funeral. That meant so much to us.
The staff are friendly, caring people. My wife is very well looked after and kept clean and comfortable at all times. The food is very good and my wife has a good appetite. Her room is small but pleasant and looks out on a small garden. The staff check her at regular intervals and she responds well to them.
My father had a temporary bed only for two weeks plus. He does not have dementia but mobility issues. Staff all round in person and by telephone were tremendously friendly and proactive. It was not really ideal for my father and he moved on to another home. However top praise for the permanent residents care shown and entertainment, stimulation and compassion.
St Martin's House is a happy home all the carers are friendly and they work hard. The place is clean and decorated to a high standard and they do lots of activities. The family are very pleased.
St Martin's is 'home from home'. The staff are very caring and try to make my dad comfortable. Nothing appears to be too much trouble! The manager and deputy are very approachable and I feel reassured that my dad is looked after properly. I can visit at any time and I'm always made very welcome.
We have seen a significant improvement in our mother's condition since moving to this home. We know this is due to the high standard of care given.
